Just seeing if there’s any interest. I think they have their faults but I think this may turn out to be a good thing long term. Anyone want to join in?

I think you have to report the initial post by the OP Starbucks and then explain it's the whole thread that you have issue with.
Sorry can't be any more help than that.

Roussette · 20/01/2020 13:30

I pressed 'report' on the original opening post as a way of reporting a thread

ItIsWhatItIsInnit · 20/01/2020 13:32

I don't understand - everyone used to moan "if they can't follow royal protocol, they should quit the Royal Family". Now they have, and people don't like that either!

If they don't put up a picture of Archie.....it's "not fair" on taxpayers.
If they do....they're attention seekers.

WTF?

And all the people saying "this is what she wanted".....wtf? Says who? Do you know them personally? Or is the average person in the UK just hard of thinking and thinks whatever Piers Morgan tells them to?

Roussette · 20/01/2020 13:50

Right when everyone started the crap against them... I said 'MM can't do right for doing wrong. There is nothing that she can do that will be accepted by an element of the british public and media'

That's the same now. They will always be vilified for all their lives. So they are sensible getting out now and trying to make a life for themselves elsewhere. They have done everything the press and public have asked for, there is nothing else they can do.

StarbucksSmarterSister · 20/01/2020 14:17

Thanks, both.

SecretWitch · 20/01/2020 14:21

Thrilled to bits for them. I only wonder why Andrew has not been dragged through the muck. He is the purported offender, not two people wishing to start a life away from the royal family.

LizzieSiddal · 20/01/2020 14:22

Or is the average person in the UK just hard of thinking and thinks whatever Piers Morgan tells them to?

You are correct plus I'd add they think what newspapers tell them too.

FourNaanJeremy · 20/01/2020 15:10

I really couldn’t care less what they do and I think anyone gets worked up over them needs to seriously get a life. There are so many terrible things in the world to be outraged about and so many causes and issues that need our attention to make the world a better place. If only people channeled their anger into something actually worthwhile.

PortiaCastis · 20/01/2020 15:27

Folks are getting brainwashed by social and printed media who print and post unsubstantiated shite and get themselves deeper into the mire to distract from the many court cases pending against them.
Why should they be allowed to print a private letter ( doesn't the writer have copyright?) and hack people's phones, methinks they deserve all that's coming to them and rightly so
In my world my OH would be in the dock for punching someone's lights out if they tried to libel him or hack his phone, shame Harry can't do the same really because nothing sorts arsewipes out like a good smack in the mouth

Cerseirys · 20/01/2020 15:59

It's really quite astonishing that posters think H&M should've just shut up over phone hacking and the printing of lies. Just because it happened to Diana and Fergie in the 80s doesn't mean it's ok to do it now! You'd hope things would've moved on by then but clearly they haven't. And it's worse now due to social media. At least if you didn't buy the Mail or Sun back then you wouldn't know what was going on.

NiceViper · 20/01/2020 16:47

Cerseirys - agree!

I don't think she got it worse. But it should be unacceptable for all. And the difference here is Prince Harry, who doesn't think it should come with the territory and is prepared to move his family away from it.

All they need do now is avoid the press for a while (to show that they really do want to get away from the malign forces he spoke of yesterday), perhaps have another child, plan their new enterprises, and quietly go about them.

GeraltOfRivia · 20/01/2020 17:06

I hope they find what they want in life. I don't agree with al their decision making along the way but it wasn't an easy path to travel as no one's done it before so it was inevitable there would be bumps.

The level of anger and vitriol being levelled at them and some of the crazy nonsense being spewed is horrifying. I wouldn't blame them if they wanted to completely disappear.

The very worst of British tabloid media is out for them and I hate it all.

AllTheWhoresOfMalta · 20/01/2020 17:11

I’m happy for them. That speech he made saying she was the love he had been looking for all his life- very touching. Good luck to them.

Samcro · 20/01/2020 17:17

I do hope they take a break from the public eye and just relax for a but.
It will be interesting seeing how the RF move on, i assume PW will have tobe morehands on, which is only right.
The RFIs odd the way they act, i watched a programme on prince charles and the duchy a while back. I was shocked that it all goes to william, seems so wrong in this day and age, and made me feel for PH?

Mischance · 20/01/2020 17:29

Try popping over to Gransnet - the vitriol there is beyond despicable. It makes me ashamed to be a grandma!! Please do not think everyone over 60 has lost their humanity! I think these two people have been treated very shabbily and I wish them well for the future.

MissSmith1 · 20/01/2020 17:41

Hoooooorrrrraaaaayyyyyyy!
My response that they are leaving the baying crowds and vitriolic media for a new life in a nice country. fingers crossed it turns out that way

Prince harry still has an outstanding phone hacking legal case against the Mirror - the delightful Piers Morgan was editor at the time so could get in trouble (hopefully) over this.
I've just discovered this so it would explain his horrible attitude to MM.

Triglesoffy · 20/01/2020 17:44

Piers Morgan should be sent to the Tower.

mynameiswah · 20/01/2020 17:50

Not a Royalist but I'm happy for them. I think it's Harry that's wanted to leave and Meghan's made it easier for him, coming from an outsider perspective. Californians have a follow your happiness type attitude and perhaps she's helped him see that there's more to life than being unhappy and "doing your duty". I don't think she understands that miserable mindset at all. Which is good thing, especially for Harry.

I think it would have been good if Kate and William had spoken up in support of Harry and Meghan in their position of total media support. Id be disappointed if family stayed silent on such outright racism and bullying

Totes agree. They don't do very much of anything and appear to have Zero personality. They could have spoken up if they cared. Very much the boring royal mould.

Cerseirys · 20/01/2020 18:16

I don't think they need have even said anything directly but just something small like William talking to Meghan at church instead of fiddling with his scarf or Kate holding Archie at the polo. Mind you Kate and Meghan looked to be getting on fairly well at Wimbledon, as did Kate and Harry at some service earlier on the year.

MissSmith1 · 20/01/2020 18:24

To be fair NO ONE is speaking up against the press except PH and even then he was careful. I listened to Question Time and everyone was very careful not to criticise the press , I would assume because anyone slating the express or mail will risk becoming their next target.
Hugh Grant who got compensation over the phone hacking scandal and has no love of the press cautiously said, when asked to comment, only that P Diana was being chased by the paparazzi when she died so he had sympathy for PH, a pretty careful response. Everyone is running scared.

Mischance · 21/01/2020 09:23

I really am not the least surprised that they have gone.

There is a photo this morning of Meghan walking her dogs in the wood whilst Archie is on a sling round her neck. Gransnet is full of criticisms of everything: the way she is holding her son is a particular grip and, as he was slipping down a bit, there has been a whole raft of posters saying she does not know how to look after her child, she obviously never carries him except for a phto-shoot. etc. etc. Sheer bitchery. Unbelievable.

PortiaCastis · 21/01/2020 09:32

Posters do not cover themselves in glory do they, thing is if in the future they start a thread asking for advice or he!p using the same names decent folk will just think no luvvie you can just fuck off!

Zipadeedoodah · 21/01/2020 09:56

I almost cancelled my Times subscription but then couldn't and am glad I didn't - good piece today by Robert Crampton saying he is a republican but sorry M and H have gone because they were interested and not just towing the RF standard line all the time. Am hoping now that apart from Daily Mail - for whom there is no hope, other papers will return to a more balanced style of journalism

Roussette · 21/01/2020 09:57

Mischance No different to thread no. 10 on here. Just as bad, if not worse. Apparently she slipped the strap of the papoose down so the photographer could see her face and smile better, she's nuts, she's fucking controlling, she adores the press, she's trolling Harry blah blah

I do know what is nuts, the people all over SM who talk like they know MM. They don't.

Zipadeedoodah · 21/01/2020 09:58

Oh FFS - scrub that - even blimmin BBC have some poor bloke who probably had a masters in English freezing to death on Vancouver island and they've filmed PH arriving .. is it ever going to end for them !
