• Opinion coming out of Canada is that; not only do they not want to fund the Sussexes; having a member of the a Royal Family make Canada their permanent home is not acceptable.

Maybe HM will offer rooms at Windsor Castle to Beatrice - to make up for her Dad's shitty behaviour.

I've also noticed that speaking about this in RL there is a similar inability or refusal to look at the actual facts and instead they are basing their opinions on feels and joining their own dots.

I have noticed this with the couple's supporters too. A friend from the US last night didn't understand why I was cross with Harry - didn't know they planned to keep on receiving the money from Daddy after the Sovereign Grant went, didn't know they had a sophisticated website up and running the minute the Instagram post went live, didn't know the couple had an office in Buckingham Palace and their own staff in situ (so the fact they are clueless about how much it actually costs the government to support the RF and how many people, behind the scenes, are required to keep the show on the road is embarrassing) etc etc.

Wonder where Meghan will turn up today? Dog shelter? Soup kitchen? Children’s ward?

I don't want to talk about PA on this thread because the issues are so entirely different and I don't think they should be conflated, or one used to minimise the other.

It's ridiculous to call him a paedophile, but it's absolutely right that he should be called to account for his relationship with Epstein and anything that went on during their association. I don't think this very serious topic belongs on a gossip thread.

This is my first post in years - I have lurked but got told off my HQ and was pissed off... for years!
Anyway my take!

1. I like Meghan. I am really pleased she championed the causes she has
2. I am more neutral on Harry - he seems quite brusque and moody
3. I think she has had unfair coverage - the nitpicking on the nail polish, cradling bump, coat open too early in pregnancy etc is unnecessary
4. Yes there has def been racism - no argument
5. There has also been shouts of racism with no evidence of it - but I accept as a white person I don't always pick up on the undercurrent so defer to what a person of colour says is racism
6. I don't like how they have gone about stepping back - I, like most if in fact not all people, don't have any problem with the concept of their wanting to step back - he isn't close enough to the throne now, they have the right to self determination etc but the way it could have been planned and presented to the public could have meant none of this backlash - eg as part of Charles' slimmed down monarchy plans
7. Personally I don't think they have given it a long enough go - she was introduced formally in late 2017 and spent half of 2019 on May leave so it's not been really a huge investment but then again per #6 and accepting I don't walk in their shoes I am just saying my perspective on what I can see
8. I don't agree with any solution that gives all the perks with none of the work but I am not yet sure that was their intention - people have inferred that on the available information that is open to interpretation rather then fact (Harry says that's his plan) or evidence (orbs of their actions)
9. I'm neutral on security generally

10. I don't get the comparison with Prince Andrew. It's not the same thing eg PA 's situation is subject to an ongoing investigation which shouldn't be jeopardised, what did people expect the Queen to say exactly given the present point of the investigation, the fact her son says he didn't do anything (so innocent until proven guilty), and - correct me if wrong - legally, if he did sleep with the lady who accuses him is that a crime in that she was of legal age to have sex? Please let me be clear MORALLY it is wrong, disgusting etc. But legally? Also, while the Queen didn't make a comment she did sack him (or at least we can reasonably infer) he was told to get lost. Actions do speak louder then words surely? Obv regardless - what the hell was he doing hanging around this repulsive convicted peado? But again factually, legally it doesn't make him one automatically just by association. 11. I write like this about PA because a lot said on the comparison with him and H&M isn't factual - eg why aren't people writing about child molester Andrew? Well he hasn't been convicted yet, there was a limited amount of events to comment on - eg one photo to dissect etc and he has been sacked so what else can be done by the RF at this point? 12. Mmmmm on MMs family situ - like already commented at a wedding of approx 600 - per my understanding - why wasn't Doria's family present? I had family at my wedding year's ago who I haven't seen since that day so unless 1) they were but somehow it wasn't reported or 2) there is a really very understandable reason not to it seems a bit odd - that said as often said here - her wedding/her rules!

Apparently Harry was asked by the media how the discussions were going and he turned around and walked back inside without saying a word.

This all seems so ill thought out.

• The heads want to slim down the monarchy - H&M are essentially attempting to take it global by monetising their titles.

• H&M want to step down - but make bank from their titles.

• H&M want to keep their titles - but not use them for any use in the UK (engagements etc).

• H&M want to split their time between UK and Canada - M has slated the UK and isn’t a citizen, neither are citizens in Canada.

• H&M blame all of this on press intrusion - meanwhile, with no engagements, M ensures she makes the papers and both keep their Instagram updated.

(Don’t even get me started on the climate justice whilst taking multiple planes crap)

Why would they release a statement and set up an entire website with their ‘plans’ and answering preempted questions when their plans are utter shit and they seemingly have no idea what they’re doing?

They could have dealt with this behind closed doors, reached an agreement, done a press release and disappeared for another 6 weeks while it all died down.

If you're not down for everything that goes along with being the wife of PH, then don't marry him! I agree with the PP who said all of this stepping down business should have been carefully discussed with the RF, and then rolled out as part of PC's slimmed down monarchy. H&M would have got what they want and it would have appeared to have been PC's decision, so public opinion would be more favourable towards H&M (private jet/climate change hypocrisy aside).

Where will M turn up next? Hopefully by Archie's cot. Poor little chap.

Still think it's a bit wrong for Meghan's REAL assistant to be using a hotmail account. Too easy to hack and not exactly professional is it? You haven't been able to get a new hotmail account for ages, so how on earth did she manage it? Did Meghan setup a Duchess of Sussex hotmail account BEFORE SHE EVEN MET HARRY? Wouldn't put it past her.
