Previous thread

-Today Prince Harry is doing the draw for the Rugby League. (Not sure if it’s a public location but there’s bound to be a lot of press interest)

  • He has said he is going to stay in the UK for a bit longer to thrash out the details of “Megxit”
  • Meghan has been on a second surprise visit in Vancouver
  • Opinion coming out of Canada is that; not only do they not want to fund the Sussexes; having a member of the a Royal Family make Canada their permanent home is not acceptable.

I cannot believe people are quoting Daily Mail articles as fact. Honestly, you don't really know what has happened but for some reason have gleefully chosen to rip MM to shreds, for crimes such as 'messy hair' (well known dog whistle racism).

And the 'are you okay' joke has got old (it wasn't that funny in the first place).

Butterymuffin · 16/01/2020 20:36

@ElspethFlashman that's really not what I'm doing. I dislike a number of aspects of Meghan's behaviour. The engagement ring change was a shocker of a decision and must have been a total slap in the face for Harry. She's been very foolish to allow her 'friend' to give this 'toxic' briefing as well. It's just sad because they looked so genuinely happy at their wedding, and because a very young baby is involved.

phpolly · 16/01/2020 20:36

"Meghan 'will continue making surprise visits to different places that help women and children. She wants to feel embraced by her community, something she says she didn't feel in the UK. She felt stifled and restricted.' "

She didn't feel "embraced" by all the people who showed up in Windsor to cheer her wedding??? All the people who welcomed her in the few places she bothered going in the UK? FFS

SpinneyHill · 16/01/2020 20:37

For someone so isolated she sure slagged her new family off to a lot of her friends very regularly didn't she.

To read it she must have been in constant contact with them, but she can't have been as she was so terribly oppressed and crushed by the Windsor firm, she never had a minute free to catch her own breath.

Just how thick do these people think everybody else is?

.

Cool0lady0 · 16/01/2020 20:37

Her dad paid for her accommodation, education, gave 20,000 toward her wedding and she did the exact same thing to him

It’s pretty sad ☹️ I can’t believe she acts this way as an adult. She’s so entitled.

SeperatedSwans · 16/01/2020 20:38

I could be completely wrong here, but I think it was reported somewhere that Kate had a "touch of the baby blues" after Charlotte. Think she had a "longer than expected maternity leave" and some speculated it's why the age gap doubled between Charlotte and Louis compared to George and Charlotte.

I can't remember where I saw this, but it was very much written/spoken in a way an upper class person would describe PND.

SeperatedSwans · 16/01/2020 20:38

Thank you for the birthday messages also 💐

yolofish · 16/01/2020 20:39

TheNavigator you ok hun? (personally I think it's quite funny, funnier than Ms Markle anways)

ChardonnaysDistantCousin · 16/01/2020 20:41

Meghan 'will continue making surprise visits to different places that help women and children. She wants to feel embraced by her community, something she says she didn't feel in the UK. She felt stifled and restricted.'

How about her Grenfell involvement and her Smart Works charity work? Wasn't she embraced there?

trollopolis · 16/01/2020 20:42

If what that friend has said is true, then they should leave the Royal family and I mean completely, with Harry removing himself from the succession (but can he remove Archie too - Edward VIII was able to abdicate for himself and his heirs, as they had not been born, but can you do it for your existing children?)

The Duchy of Cornwall could pay an allowance for a transitional period.

Even though that then means that the York line would be the 'spares' if anything happened to the Cambridges (eg accident while their DC are still so very young and they all travel together), averting the prospect of King Andrew cannot be put ahead of his disastrous being Queen would be for her (as even the much freer role she has had to date has been too much)

JulietJanuary · 16/01/2020 20:42

Yes here's to the survivors and thrivers yolofish.

My dear dad had what used to be termed a nervous breakdown but the real battle came later in his solo struggle to come off the highly addictive drugs prescribed him. No help from doctors. Others were addicts for decades. He is to me a hero, a quiet and kind man,

RoseAndRose · 16/01/2020 20:44

Yes, she was, and this shows she thinks it just wasn't good enough for her. What a kick in the teeth for them.

Honeyroar · 16/01/2020 20:44

I just can’t take anyone seriously as a charity ambassador who can’t live independently on £35 million. I’m quite repulsed by the pair of them.

SpinneyHill · 16/01/2020 20:44

@TheNavigator It's because no-one asked if you're ok isn't it.

But you're right about the DM it's a shit rag, wonder why they went there and not some other paper?

Oh the answers in one of the other threads isn't it. As well as all over the press, internet and TV.

SerenDippitty · 16/01/2020 20:45

She didn't feel "embraced" by all the people who showed up in Windsor to cheer her wedding??? All the people who welcomed her in the few places she bothered going in the UK? FFS

Not as much as she feels she deserves, obviously.

itwaseverthus · 16/01/2020 20:45

The PND thing is just apologists trying to find literally any potential or hypothetical reason for Meghan's behaviour that has nothing to do with her fundamental personality cos god forbid she's not a victim

Bloody well said ElspethFlashman

NumbersStation · 16/01/2020 20:47

SussexRoyle Sauce (for burgers, natch)

SussexRoyle mince (made from naice ham and wildebeest if Haz has been out and about with his shooter)

SussexRoyle cheese - hard cheddar

SussexRoyle Red wine Vinegar - sour grapes

SussexRoyle lotto - all profits to one dubious cause.

SussexRoyle pie - not humble. EVER.

SussexRoyle nutcracker. For souls.

Wast asked if they were ok? My arse.

NumbersStation · 16/01/2020 20:47

Wasn't.

yolofish · 16/01/2020 20:47

juliet I hope your dad is ok now, and he sounds like a hero.

re "not feeling embraced by her community in the uk" - how much/many embraces does any one person want? its not like she had a role here until she married H - prior to that she was a pretty unheard of US actress. Yet post-marriage she needs to be embraced by communities all over? how needy do you hve to be?

NumbersStation · 16/01/2020 20:48

SussexRoyle Air. Not heir. Or indeed hair. Just hot.

ChardonnaysDistantCousin · 16/01/2020 20:49

But no one is ever embraced by all. Why does she think that everybody must find her likable and embrace her?

DuchessofWoke · 16/01/2020 20:49

Do we think they’ll go to Beatrice’s wedding? Or any family occasion ever again? I mean, if they stay married, are they no contact?

iVampire · 16/01/2020 20:51

I’m fundamentally not OK

But these threads have cheered me up no end (when stranded under a sleeping puppy, with just enough wiggle room to stroke a finger over a screen)

carben · 16/01/2020 20:51

It's a shame I'm enjoying reading all this so much because the way to deal with her is to stop talking about and discussing her. Apathy would make her 'incandescent with rage' to borrow a phrase. She hasn't a clue how ironic and pointless she is. Poor Archie. Harry will have to learn the hard way.
