Previous thread

-Today Prince Harry is doing the draw for the Rugby League. (Not sure if it’s a public location but there’s bound to be a lot of press interest)

  • He has said he is going to stay in the UK for a bit longer to thrash out the details of “Megxit”
  • Meghan has been on a second surprise visit in Vancouver
  • Opinion coming out of Canada is that; not only do they not want to fund the Sussexes; having a member of the a Royal Family make Canada their permanent home is not acceptable.

@phpolly I'm willing to stand corrected!

Not sure how many threads back it was.

Butterymuffin · 16/01/2020 20:22

It was asked on previous threads whether it seemed possible that Meghan was suffering from PND and reading this it does seem possible to me. As I imagine many of us know, in those early days with a very young baby it can feel like everything's going against you, even if with a more rational head on you wouldn't see it that way. That's not to say the Royals have all been angels or that there's been no external pressure by any means. Racism has undoubtedly been present in the media. But G do wonder whether PND is part of the reason she seems to have had such a bleak view of her situation.

JulietJanuary · 16/01/2020 20:22

What a lovely story SirVix.

SpinneyHill · 16/01/2020 20:22

@meinethegreen Instagrams that way, you are needed there.

WinnieTheW0rm · 16/01/2020 20:22

I expect the rest of the Royal Family members, like pretty much every family and it's members, find comfort and solace from their spouse, and recognise that other people with busy lives just don't have the time to be a standing chorus for you.

The expectation shown in this words displays a level of self absorption and self importance that is really a rather off-putting.

Cool0lady0 · 16/01/2020 20:23

Well if little baby Airchie becomes a petulant little foot stamper who expects his parents to fund his lifestyle then we will know where he gets it from

I’ve never known anyone so spoilt as this woman. She’s 38 years old & was given a free very large home & £2.5mil to renovate it, had £20mil spent on her wedding, & as a thank you embarrasses the Queen by going behind her back with their announcement & runs off.

Andylion · 16/01/2020 20:24

Well, I can't find anything online (doing, admittedly, a very quick search) saying the pic that accompanies her visit to the National Theatre on Wednesday was old, so you may be right, @phpolly.

Laiste · 16/01/2020 20:25

Thank you fallen121 :)

Now i'm OK

ElspethFlashman · 16/01/2020 20:25

PND doesn't make you like this. I had it really really bad. I was in a very bad way. Was never lashing out like this.

I call absolute bullshit on that one.

SpinneyHill · 16/01/2020 20:26

Why would Sue from down the road have been photographed by the press at her own request? she wouldn't sell any papers!. Leave Sue out of it.

They've been planning this and doing the background work for ages, PND doesn't explain that and if she had PND I suspect she would have made damn sure everybody knew about it.

GoFiguire · 16/01/2020 20:26

The Royal style and beauty threads feature a lot of “Meghan Green”

Waves at Meghan @meinethegreen

Please, for the love of all that’s holy, stop it.

WinnieTheW0rm · 16/01/2020 20:27

"Meghan 'will continue making surprise visits to different places that help women and children. She wants to feel embraced by her community, something she says she didn't feel in the UK. She felt stifled and restricted.' "

My jaw dropped at that. Does it really all boil down to needing to feel loved by everyone all the time? And when others don't cooperate, they get bad mouthed and discarded?

Bluebellforest1 · 16/01/2020 20:28

NumbersStation 💔 I know. I’m on number 3 rescue lab now.

Laiste · 16/01/2020 20:28

The PND theory - hasn't it been established that the basics of the website and plans for the sussexroyal brand were under way before she even fell pregnant?

yolofish · 16/01/2020 20:28

omg just looked at that DM link... 'soul crushing' give me a fucking break! All they had to do was say 'look, M is having a bit of a hard time now the baby's here (upper class speak for PND) can we please have a bit of a breather? (upper class speak for a long break, pref paid for by someone else and involving luxury travel).

Honestly, how much do these two want??

DeeZastris · 16/01/2020 20:29

I had PND - I’d like to think it made me depressed not expecting everyone to dance to my tune.

SpinneyHill · 16/01/2020 20:30

She’s 38 years old & was given a free very large home & £2.5mil to renovate it, had £20mil spent on her wedding, & as a thank you embarrasses the Queen by going behind her back with their announcement & runs off

Her dad paid for her accommodation, education, gave 20,000 toward her wedding and she did the exact same thing to him.

Once bitten Twice bitten, at which point you notice. There's a pattern forming here

RancidOldHag · 16/01/2020 20:30

'Close friends' briefing the press?

Thus is straight back to the war of the Wales. I thought Prince Harry wanted his family away from all that sort of stuff. Not being a prime mover in recreating one of the worst times there has been

Lunde · 16/01/2020 20:31

I am wondering whether all of these rather petulant interviews via "friends" may hint at them not totally getting their own way in the negotiations and are attempting to "put their case" in the US media - it is noticeable that the "poor us the Queen/Camilla/Kate didn't pop over with a homemade cake to ask how we are doing" interviews have really ramped up over the past couple of days,

yolofish · 16/01/2020 20:31

I also had PND and it made me frightened, anxious, and unwilling to go out. Don't think I could have been involved with lawyers, setting up companies and websites etc etc.

PND is horrible, but it doesnt turn you into a horrible person. I salute everyone who has it and not only survives but thrives!

MarySidney · 16/01/2020 20:32

It was asked on previous threads whether it seemed possible that Meghan was suffering from PND and reading this it does seem possible to me.

Yes, I agree she could be, but then you'd think her mum, or her doctor or health visitor, if she has one, or one of her close friends, might have had the same idea, and said something. Or I suppose they might have, and been ignored.

ElspethFlashman · 16/01/2020 20:32

The PND thing is just apologists trying to find literally any potential or hypothetical reason for Meghan's behaviour that has nothing to do with her fundamental personality.

Cos God forbid she's not a victim.

Butterymuffin · 16/01/2020 20:33

I had PND - I’d like to think it made me depressed not expecting everyone to dance to my tune.

Same here. I just find it bizarre that she'd come out with so strong a reaction. Would like to think there is a better explanation than her just being self-centred. But the website stuff does show she had ideas about her own personal angle on being Royal some time back.

peridito · 16/01/2020 20:33

they have said they want to be financially independent...

Yes, with the money gained by monetising their titles and the rest from PC and the UK (and potentially Canadian) taxpayer. It’s not them saying that they’re going to “monetise “ their titles ,it’s the opinion of ppl like yourself. It’s also only an opinion that they will continue to receive money from PC ( tho they probably will ) and what and how are they getting taxpayers money ?

they have said nothing about keeping their titles

They’ve trademarked a whole load of items using sussexroyal. They are a brand with or without their titles ,Harry can't stop being a member of the RF.
Wm and Kate also trademarked companies ,presumably to prevent copycats
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have taken steps to protect their respective brands. That's right, Kate and Will are brands, and the royal duo have set up companies to protect these brands. Prince William’s is called APL Anglesey. Kate Middleton’s is named CE Strathearn. These new entities will reportedly handle the royals' various trademark and brand registrations, such as the "Duke of Cambridge" and "Duchess of Cambridge" UK marks, as well as various image rights.

where has M slated the UK

Official statement re press treatment which then developed into ‘the thought of her future in the UK gives her anxiety attacks’ (quoting her mother). That’s a) not slating the UK and b) not Meghan

controling Instagram content does not = inviting Press intrusion

Of course it does. The articles in the press today have all been lifted directly from their Instagram. They insist on privacy and then share their movements and thoughts with the world. It’s contradictory. They are not insisting on privacy they are complaining about reporting bias and intrusion .

only your opinion that their plans are rubbish

Really? Because both the UK and Canada are keen to fund their split living arrangement are they? It’s still just an opinion .
