Previous thread

-Today Prince Harry is doing the draw for the Rugby League. (Not sure if it’s a public location but there’s bound to be a lot of press interest)

  • He has said he is going to stay in the UK for a bit longer to thrash out the details of “Megxit”
  • Meghan has been on a second surprise visit in Vancouver
  • Opinion coming out of Canada is that; not only do they not want to fund the Sussexes; having a member of the a Royal Family make Canada their permanent home is not acceptable.

Don't flounce "SingingLily*.

People will start a series of threads about you if you're not careful.

I bet that Meghan was hinting that Harry's family didn't ask her if she was alright after having Archie. There were tensions there already : the wedding was stressful for all of them and I just can't imagine Kate or any of them asking her anything as they were probably just not getting on at that time.
It's all speculation on my part of course , but the wheels seemed to start coming off after their wedding and maybe they are just not a close family who worry about each other.
My mil and my sil never asked me if I was ' ok' ever and my own family were not much better either. Get on with it is more their thing but I didn't really expect it. maybe she did or they just thought Harry should provide all the support and not them!

OVienna · 16/01/2020 15:46

My friends from the US talk about Meghan like she was a Middle-Eastern princess rescued from captivity or something. "I'm so happy she got out!" and lots of talk about those racist Europeans.

Yes, I have had precisely the same language thrown at me.

Couldn't care less, Mustress. I've got my ducks in a row and I'm ready to LTB.

Grin
TheMustressMhor · 16/01/2020 15:48

Lots of talk about racist Europeans

Because there's no racism where Meghan comes from, of course.

JulietJanuary · 16/01/2020 15:50

anomoony, propaganda works.

DandyAndFine · 16/01/2020 15:51

@SingingLily Argh no, not DUCKS, they like, FLY, don’t they??? Can’t you have more environmentally friendly birds? Hmm

TheMustressMhor · 16/01/2020 15:51

@SingingLily

If you need to borrow luggage when you LTB I have a commodious suitcase which may be of use.

Many people have commented on it including my sisters because they have too much time on their hands

SingingLily · 16/01/2020 15:53

The New York Times editorial linked to above is anti-British.

DH subscribes to the NYT online and it is notoriously anti-British and anti-Brexit so to be able to tie the whole thing together, wrap it up in a bow, and present it to their woke readers as the Nasty Racist Brits being typically nasty and racist to one of their own would be pretty irresistible.

TheMustressMhor · 16/01/2020 15:53

@yolofish

It sounds like SingingLily does not deserve any woke fairy dust, so could you pop round to her house and retrieve it.

OVienna · 16/01/2020 15:53

@Oldbutstillgotit

I am...[sniffs] okay, thank you!

NotJustACigar · 16/01/2020 15:54

I'm another one who's addicted to these threads. My job is really stressful and I need the escapism.... but don't worry, I'm ok Grin!

I wonder when/if H will be leaving for Canada as surely there's nothing keeping him here now that's more important than his wife and child. If he needs to work out details on abdication surely he can just email/dial in.

yolofish · 16/01/2020 15:55

mustress yes of course, will you alert the paps or should I? I could probably squeeze in a little visit to some deserving (pref POC and not British, and pref disaster victims too?) at the same time.

Get your people to call my people, we'll put it all in train.

TheMustressMhor · 16/01/2020 15:55

@DandyAndFiNE

I can assure you that SingingLily is very environmentally friendly as she used to run a prison.

TheMustressMhor · 16/01/2020 15:55

Make of that what you will.

SingingLily · 16/01/2020 15:57

Thank you for your kind offer, Mustress, but I'm going to borrow Melania's. She has 32 pieces of luggage that she only used once, when she and the President visited HM. If you remember, she never smiled once during that visit. I thought it was because she had forgotten which suitcase she had packed her toothbrush in - such a disorganised woman - but now I realise it was because MM refused to greet them. Being met by the Queen was obviously just a consolation prize.

Dandy, not if they are organically-fed free-range ducks.

yolofish · 16/01/2020 16:01

yeah but what about me? mustress did not reply immeidately, therefore I am cutting her/him/they out of my life right NOW. I have other fish to fry you know...

TheMustressMhor · 16/01/2020 16:03

Cat, having some downtime

@DandyAndFine

I did actually go and read through the website link you sent. I absolutely agree that poverty does absolutely affect girls in developing countries adversely in terms of education/health/welfare. I think the link with climate change is a bit tenuous though. I think these things would happen anyway and that climate change is just another influencer, not the direct driver. But that's a discussion for another thread.

The point I was making (badly) is that Meghan is not inclining us to look at these issues in a rational way because she a) Cares more for the photo opportunity than for the situation these girls are in (if she did care she could have done something selfless like auction off her wedding dress in support of it) and b) Flying in by seaplane and out buy helicopter not only makes us mock her for her obscene carbon footprint and utter disregard for those actions that CAUSE climate change but diverts attention away from the issues at hand.

Just as an aside, creating ANY climate change charity that focuses more on one gender than another is just as likely to come in for a whole load of criticism of its own.

Now back to Meghan and Harry.....

TheMustressMhor · 16/01/2020 16:06

Sorry about that yolofish.

I was just giving a heads-up to my people about getting in touch with your people.

Obviously I have so many people that organising this took longer than five minutes.

Maybe you have so few people that you can tell immediately when they are under-occupied.

My people, on the other hand, have people of their own.

So THERE.

TheMustressMhor · 16/01/2020 16:09

Oh, and SingingLily:

Since you are going to borrow inferior-quality luggage from Melania Trump I can only infer that you have taken leave of your senses.

People are queuing up to borrow my blue suitcase, I'll have you know.

The80sweregreat · 16/01/2020 16:10

Happy to get out! ..
She was very quick to ' get in it ' though!
The only thing I will say in her defence is that Harry just did not warn her enough about how it really is. It's reported she knew about Diana and was a bit obsessed by her ? If this is the case, then surely she should have seen a patten of how they ( the press etc) treat women in the Royal family and stayed well away from all of them? Enough friends tried to warn her off too by all accounts.

It's either this lack of forewarning or she knew exactly how to play it and could use any number of excuses as to why she couldn't hack it anymore : had it planned all along. Or just getting Frogmore cottage was the final straw ; ' the others have nice palaces that doesn't look like a row of ex council houses and the planes keep me up all night too, its not fair '

SingingLily · 16/01/2020 16:11

People are queuing up to borrow my blue suitcase, I'll have you know.

It's a unique piece of luggage and gets lots of attention, I know.

By the way, I've just popped over to the last thread and there are still posters posting there.

Do you think they are OK?

The80sweregreat · 16/01/2020 16:12

The other posters are looking around when wondering why they have been left out.
They are not OK at all

DuchessofWoke · 16/01/2020 16:13

The US reaction to Megxit has been gobsmacking. They truly believe Meghan has been freed from tyranny. Like it’s the sequel to Ten Years a Slave. Only in Meghan’s case it was about 18 months.
