To wish Meghan Markle had realised

I know they are only people and we don't know them. I just can't but feel abit miffed she's stolen away the lovely Prince Harry. I watched the itv program this morning and her saying about the stiff upper lip British thing really annoyed me. I get some of it is bound to be hard. But she was happy to marry Harry. Typical that the women who finally gets the ring decides the British life/monachy isn't for her. Well that's ok Meghan. Don't worry. It's not for you. So therefore let's mess up traditional British ways and destroy the future outlook of the royal family because you can't be arsed with it. I know I shouldn't be annoyed. But such a shame he didn't meet someone to be by his side and support him. She just can't follow him and be his support like Kate is for Will. She has to be equal or above.

I know there have been some dark times. But he's so Lucky in many ways. To be that comfortable. Luxurious houses, the best food, clothes etc. Being who he is is extremely unique and special. I just think if he can't take his role seriously he should loose his title. Meghan has massively disrespected the Brits. She's ran away and probably told Harry she's done with the UK. How can she be so comfortable stealing him from his family and the life he's always had. I think Diana would be sad to see Harry like this. He seems so sad too. Extremely low. She hasn't been able to adapt to life here. What if Harry can't adapt over there? She's never going to come back here after this of he misses home. I think he doesn't realise how much he's going to miss his family. Especially William. Now they both have little ones! You just presumed the kids would grow up together.

All my memories of the royal family are positive because of Harry and William. They put the fun into and modernize what would be otherwise an old fashioned stuffy affair on my opinion. They are the next generation. Without Harry it just feels alot smaller. Incredibly sad they couldn't enjoy a life in the UK. Ofcourse Meghan needs to see her folks still. I am not sure what there plans are now really. I don't like Meghan now personally. she's done what alot of people said she would do. She was never right for the role! I bet the queen has said she will support them because there's nothing else she can do. She remains proffesional at all times. I doubt she will get to see Harry or Archie many more times now. I find it all sad. Meghan doesn't exactly have a close family. Her mum could of visited the UK more if they missed eachother. I think it's a disgrace how she didn't take her role more seriously!

Liking young Harry being not unique but extremely unique. Yup.

BrendasUmbrella · 13/01/2020 21:10

The problem is that Harry wanted out anyway. He said literally that on a TV interview years before he met Meghan. he negotiated with the RF then.

And what changed since then is that he introduced the woman he loved to the country, probably had excited plans about the two of them doing campaigns and charity work together which they started, and watched her get methodically torn to shreds week after week, even when pregnant, for no other reason (apparently) than she seems a bit fake, to these people who don't actually know her.

For all those who wanted to keep "lovely Harry" around full time, it might have been an idea to not be poisonous arseholes to his wife... If she'd been accepted, or even just not hated, they'd still be around.

Experimenopause · 13/01/2020 21:10

Long time lurker here (name changed).
The way these posts are popping up on Mumsnet these days, I think there is an organised campaign to take the heat off Prince Andrew. Nothing else can explain the level of hysterics and frothing.

RB68 · 13/01/2020 21:11

he is way down the line in terms of ever getting the top job - I think its healthy that they are looking at what kind of life they want and not being a financial burden anymore. I like the royals I think they do masses for charity and also for tourism in this country and many would be poorer or without jobs without them despite what they "cost" the tax payer. But I do think they need a more sustainable way of life

TheresWaldo · 13/01/2020 21:12

I think I might start 20 billion threads about Brexit, which actually something people should be concerned about, instead of this bollocks.

Experimenopause · 13/01/2020 21:13

Should add that the PR managers of Royal family behind all these online campaigns should now realise that they are overdoing it now. It is beginning to backfire so they really need to stop now.

CosmoK · 13/01/2020 21:13

Are women not meant to be equal to their husbands?

You sound waaaaay over invested in people you've never met and in a situation you know nothing about.

Oswin · 13/01/2020 21:14

Why the fuck should she not be equal to her husband? Absolute lunacy. Weird

Grumbley · 13/01/2020 21:15

Meh, the only sad thing is the likely effect on his relationship with his family, but he is a grown man and although it can be more complicated with a child in the mix, he is perfectly capable of making his own decisions. I do think that the past year or so has likely changed the monarchy forever, once the queen stands down I think things will be very different, for better or for worse, but let's be honest they are only a small part of that when you compare it to what else has been happening.

BrendasUmbrella · 13/01/2020 21:16

In the tabloids there absolutely is. 10-20 new articles every day. All about the Royal Family's disappointment in Harry and Meghan...

But who cares about pedophilia and rape? The only woman to blame in that case is Ghislaine Maxwell and she might actually be guilty. That's not fun. Not as fun as finding a new Yoko/Wallis to faithfully hate for the next few decades.

PortiaCastis · 13/01/2020 21:16

Yes the frothing bots have overdone it and the site is getting trashed, it's very sad

Bloody hell, this is just as sycophantic as those who think all criticism is born out of racism.

Hoik · 13/01/2020 21:21

I have a mental image of the OP outside the church on their wedding day wasting s black lace dress and veil, sobbing as she quietly sang "it should have been me" into her plastic bouquet.

GrumpyHoonMain · 13/01/2020 21:21

I actually think this comes entirely from Harry and I think it’s a good thing. The only reason why the establishment wants him and Meghan to be part of the ‘senior royal family’ after Charles becomes king is, aside from the media propaganda/smear campaign against Meghan is that he and William are loved by the people more than Charles is. Meghan connects to non-white Britons who normally don’t care about the royals. The royal family, after the Queen dies, needs them to stay relevant.

TacoLover · 13/01/2020 21:22

She just can't follow him and be his support like Kate is for Will. She has to be equal or above.

How dare she want to be equal to her husbandHmm

TakeMe2Insanity · 13/01/2020 21:22

I go with the theory if Harry hadn’t wanted out he wouldn’t be leaving. He’s a grown man.

Now Andrew however is definitely happy with title and money and potentially being bumped up a bit...

MotherOfDragonite · 13/01/2020 21:23

Is this Donald Trump sh*tposting anonymously? Grin

Andypromqueen · 13/01/2020 21:23

I read an article today (in I think the guardian) about how the Canadians are very annoyed with “how H&M have disrespected the queen” so god help them if they move over there! According to the article the queen is loved even more over there. Also an article about how members of the military are “refusing to raise a toast to prince harry”.
I don’t particularly like Harry or Meghan but it’s just farcical really.

howdoesthisworkagain · 13/01/2020 21:23

This sounds devastating for you op. I hope you get some support.

percheron67 · 13/01/2020 21:24

Laundrylady Good for you! Someone who sees it from the British point of view!

Littlemeadow123 · 13/01/2020 21:24
