To think this Is absolute nonsense? Surely the press would be on it ??

Funny how all these stories only appeared in the last year
why do you say that? There has been more than one story in the past, the biggest one was about his ski holiday, with photos! but there were quite a few more.

JingsMahBucket · 29/11/2019 17:37

@Bouledeneige
One of the worst bits of a royal infidelity is that the personal protection officers would have to know. So I'm sure if you were the wronged party (Kate if it were true), that would hurt and humiliate even more - that they were in on it and probably helped organise it. The betrayal is bad enough.

Good point. This is what struck me and made me squirm while watching The Crown the first couple of seasons. The lack of privacy. All those staff who knew or know what is going on in your relationship but won’t say anything. Horrible.

mrscampbellblackagain · 29/11/2019 18:50

There is a difference between the ski story and the continual stuff about Rose Hanbury.

Just seems odd to me that this has gained such traction in the last six months or so.

Personally I think there are way too many factions in the RF all with their own agendas and like the days of old they all seem to be briefing their sources against other members of the family. It is a bad look for all of them.

There does appear to be a lack of cohesion and control in the RF and that is not a good thin. I think they are very very close to disappearing in their current format.

I also do find it distasteful how so many people seem to want William to have had an affair.

CallaLilli · 29/11/2019 19:31

I have to say it's no more distasteful than the people who are so willing to believe lies about Meghan Markle. It's interesting that it's often those who fall for the stories about her are the same people who are convinced the stories about William (usually from the same tabloids) are untrue.

JingsMahBucket · 29/11/2019 21:11

@CallaLilli I’ve been wanting to say the same thing but held my tongue here because I couldn’t quite articulate myself properly. You put it much more succinctly than I have been trying to mentally wrangle.

mrscampbellblackagain · 30/11/2019 06:48

Agree that all the stories are distasteful - especially though the glee with which some people seem to have over women being duped/disrespected/treated badly.

I really don't get it at all.

Thank goodness I am not a Royal - the kindest thing would be to retire them all off. I really think the younger ones would be happy with that too.

Tvstar · 30/11/2019 07:01

She looks like the back end of a bus! Royal men shag around. Fact.

AJPTaylor · 30/11/2019 07:26

Well if he turns out to be a serial shagger I think the public tolerance for the royal family will tip against them for once and for all.
The whole Prince Charles thing was allegedly because he was forced to marry Diana and denied "the woman he loved". That has matured into a nice story about blended families.
William is supposed to have married the love of his life. If he can't keep his trousers on its pretty contemptible.

What was serial shagger prince Philips excuse

QueenOfTheAndals · 30/11/2019 08:35

Makes me wonder what we actually "know" about the royals. Because there's the tabloid press AND their own PR machines which, when they work, are extremely effective.

Look at how Camilla has gone from the home-wrecking other woman to the love of Charles' life (though it seems she was v in love with APB and wanted to marry him) and valued member of the royal family!

MangoFeverDream · 30/11/2019 09:19

William is supposed to have married the love of his life

Didn’t seem terribly believable to me, more that she was able to put up with his shenanigans

sonjadog · 30/11/2019 09:23

Supposed by who? By the media?

noodlenosefraggle · 30/11/2019 10:19

They got together at university, he ran after other women when they split, all who refused to marry him and then skulked back to her. How is she the love of his life? And in any case, that doesn't stop people having affairs. They might love their wives but they have the opportunity to shag around and almost zero consequences, it's not beyond the realms of possibility that hed do it.

diddl · 30/11/2019 11:25

Well tbf, Camilla might be the love of Charles' life, but he wasn't hers!

Also William & Kate, I can't help thinking that she wasn't his first choice, but she wa the one who said yes.

Even after they got back together it took a while for him to propose, didn't it?

Theloftmonster · 30/11/2019 11:49

Rose seems to have an unusual marriage. Her husband was very much a 'confirmed batchelor', he had a business partner who he also lived with. He didn't marry, the much younger, Rose until she was pregnant with twins. It sounds very much like an arrangement than a marriage.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 30/11/2019 14:04

If the Marquess of Cholomondley wasNot titled, there would have been no need for him to get married.
Feel sorry for Rose up to a point.
Why doesn’t she just get divorced. The heir & spare have been produced.

W0rriedMum · 30/11/2019 14:14

Correct @Theloftmonster
I'm sure I read somewhere that he lives a lot of the time in Paris.

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 30/11/2019 16:26

I’m sure William loves Kate very much but it’s definitely not a “married the love of his life” fairytale style romance, Kate played the long game and William happily settled. I think Harry and Meghan fit the fairytale brief far more and have had to overcome more obstacles.

Cherryonthetop2019 · 01/12/2019 12:47

I do not mix in sloney circles (far too common!) however my Husbands sister married very, very well and does. This is well known in that mix as being true. It was while she was preggo with number 3. It is also the reason behind the rift between Wills and Harry.

noodlenosefraggle · 01/12/2019 15:01

Yes I can imagine if Harry's wife was being used as a cover for Williams antics he'd get mightily pissed off by it. Sometimes families do things that when youre brought up with them, you just accept. It takes someone from outside coming in and pointing out how ridiculous it is.

caperberries · 02/12/2019 11:23

I got the impression the rumours were primarily being spread by Harry and Meghan's fans, in a misguided attempt to 'even out' the bad publicity.

A lot people haven't warmed to Harry and Meghan as a couple - and I don't think that's the result of a media conspiracy, a lot of people find them annoyingly self-important in a way that Kate Middleton certainly isn't, although William's as bad as his brother IMHO

damnthatanxiety · 02/12/2019 13:39

caperberries sorry to disillusion you but these rumours predate H&M. You really are trying to blame them for everything aren't you.

caperberries · 02/12/2019 14:01

@damnthatanxiety I'd suggest you read my post again. Who knows when the rumours started? My observation was that whenever these rumours are spread online, it almost always seems to be by 'fans' of Harry and Meghan.

SamanthaBrique · 02/12/2019 14:05

Wasn't it originally in the Daily Mail? They are hardly fans of Harry and Meghan!
