Poor woman looks like she was about to cry Sad

I think Harry has had enough. It looks like they've had some sort of bust up before they went on the balcony.

There’s a saying for: if you don’t know the story...shut up!
Enough said

Just out of interest (don't mean to derail), what's the saying? I always like to learn something new and pithy Smile

Do you remember when Barack Obama tried to toast the Queen during the National Anthem and she just smiled and ignored him. Hee hee. Harry was probably brought up with having to conform and Meghan just doesn't realise the stiffness of the royals. One does wonder whether she had the remotest iota of an idea of what she was getting into.

Looking at the video it looks like she didn't know what to do after the planes stopped flying and Harry tells her 'it's the national anthem'. Then she turns back to him and he tells her she has to turn around. It's a learning curve for her I guess.
On the other hand, Kate Middleton seems to have finally settled into her role and looks comfortable whereas previously she looked as terrified as Meghan does with all the protocol.

How could anyone hear a baby with all that noise?

How on earth can anyone possibly know what is going on in that moment?

I watched it about 20 times because I couldn't figure out what I was supposed to be looking at.

Some of you really love to extrapolate from nothing.

It's called having an imagination........

Oh FFS. I've seen the wider clip of the whole balcony. Everyone's standing and chatting, the anthem begins and they abruptly stop and turn and face the front.

Harry and Meghan are talking to the people beside them. Harry seems to be the first one in their little group to realise the anthem is about to start, so warns Meghan who looks like she thinks the next bit is going back inside. He looks a bit tense, I'm guessing cos he knows the press will go to town on her, yet again, if she gets it wrong.

The anthem starts, she cops what's going on and turns around. No drama.

Nothing wrong with having an imagination, but these are actual people who actually exist and talking shit about them because you've suddenly decided you're some kind of psychologist is beyond fucked up and pathetic.

Ye, I thought the same Mindy - he's just trying to tell her what she's supposed to be doing. It very much looks like she didn't know what the protocol was and to be honest neither would I have

Well you're calling me fucked up and pathetic and I'm merely commenting on royal footage, so eh........ I'll say no more.

totur I'm calling your actions fucked up and pathetic, because they are.

If someone followed you around with a camera 24/7, I'm sure there would be a lot of stuff that was misconstrued about you as well.

The hearing the baby cry stuff is pure speculation - as is this entire story. But if the DM and other papers version of events is correct, I think that it’s Harry who comes over badly.

It's not her National Anthem as she is American.
I've stood around feeling a bit of a tube at many US anthems, where they stand with their hand across their heart.

I agree that it looks more like they are hearing their baby cry. I would have looked just like that if I was in that situation and couldn't calm get to my baby. He looks like he is concerned too.

I don't think it's even that she didn't know the protocol. I'm sure she's more than familiar with the concept of standing to attention for the national anthem. I think she'd just forgotten the order of events and he reminded her. In all the hubbub she didn't get what he was saying the first time, so he repeated himself. Really fail to see what the big deal is here.

I think it was the the manner in which Harry reminded her to turn around .
It looked like no one was talking to M on the balcony too.
I was not fit for going to the shop after my first baby let alone a public function !

How can anyone know for sure what Harry said unless they were there and the whole thing is just speculative nonsense.

Op if you're not being nasty about them what does 'I think Harry's had enough' mean? Enough of what exactly? Can you imagine if someone came on here and said 'I've had enough of my wife. We've been married a year, she doesn't do what she's told at family events, she's had a baby 4 weeks ago and she had to leave him for a few hours and my family didn't talk to her' what would happen?

She looks more and more to me like a rabbit caught in the headlights, poor woman. All that awful stuffy protocol. Talk about life in a gilded cage.

I think people forget that Kate was hounded by the press for years over her family and her lack of work ethic. Now MM has come along, she's gone from "Waity Katie" to "Kate the Great".

The press were exactly the same with Diana and Fergie.
