I actually replied on Twitter, so much bitterness to a fellow human being. She’s just had a baby, I took my baby into my old office approx 5/6 weeks after birth, and had to hold back tears because I was so overwhelmed. She’s on the balcony in front of the world.
Why are people so spiteful, and so happy at other people’s misery (if that’s what is was).

The Duchess of Cambs didn't get much MN sympathy even when she was a brand new mother. And other Royals have been told off for breaches of balcony protocol (e.g. Prince William, as mentioned earlier in the thread).

The Sussexes really aren't (as far as this thread goes) being singled out to be picked on in ways that are unusual/unprecedented.

Whilst I don’t give a damn about the monarchy, I have empathy for a mother of a tiny baby. Leave the poor woman alone to get on with her life. Who knows what was or wasn’t said.

She doesn’t look upset though. Just blinky. Obviously people do that sometimes to suppress tears but there again her eyes may be really dry, there might be glare, she may have been suppressing a yawn, she may be struggling to stay away. Could be anything.

I went to an American school for a few years and was invited to take part in the graduation ceremony one year so I could do a reading in my "nice English accent" (I'm Welsh, but wanted to show off so kept schtum).

I stood politely for the anthem but afterwards my friends were shocked that I hadn't clutched my heart.
If you see US presidents (recently the dread orange one) during the anthem, left chest gripping and staring soulfully ahead seems de rigeur.
Surely a member of the royal family, knowing cameras were on them, could have just shut up for a few minutes and looked ahead? Especially if used to the way Americans stand for their own anthem.

There is photographs of them smiling together minutes after. The video is muted but as she turns, the anthem starts. He's surly just saying 'it's starting'?

The Meghan and Harry bashing is so tiring. They probably are rowing occasionally, they just had a baby. It doesn't mean they are going to give the press what they so desperately seem to want and split up.

I love Meghan and I feel sorry for her here, whatever went on, she looks uncomfortable.

I find it distasteful that so many people are salivating at the thought of a couple with a tiny baby splitting up. Why? Do they think the world will be a better place if they had a huge row and Harry dumps the mother of his tiny son? Either he will not see him all the time, or even worse, she wont see him all the time. Great!

I read the twitter feed and was shocked at the comments on there. There’s a sizeable faction who seem to believe they’ve seen proof on that video that she is 5-6 months pregnant, and that Archie is surrogate born. They are all obscenely happy that she looks ‘about to burst into tears’. And apparently rapid blinking is a classic narc trait.

I feel like I need a bath now. What on Earth is wrong with people? She may not be everyone’s cup of tea but she’s hardly Mussolini!
