"Ooh twinges....could this be it?"

I wish. Think I must be a closet royalist as I am rathrr excited about this impending birth. Anyone want to keep watch with me?

Lovely news! Good luck!

Wishing them both all the best. Smile

ZingWidge · 22/07/2013 08:19

awwww, babytime!

AGnu · 22/07/2013 08:23

BBC says she travelled to hospital from the palace... & when precisely did she travel to the palace?! Must've been when there was all that excitement the other day & they sent the guards back to her parents' house to throw us off!

FluffDragon · 22/07/2013 08:34

Ooh I bet we will have the new royal girl baby by tonight!

Do you think they will break with tradition and name the baby straight away? I hope so.

StealthPolarBear · 22/07/2013 08:44

Anyone thinking she's already had it and they are now allowing the hype to build to give them some time?

MortifiedAdams · 22/07/2013 08:47

Possibly SPB but I think a policeman has only appeared outside the hospital this morning - think he would have had to have been there all along.

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 22/07/2013 08:49

this will be a community support officer
The last one will have been in plain clothes and bulletproof vest
:o

Good luck Kate! Weird to think she's having the baby right now (unless she's been admitted at the very first contraction, in which case she's probably just a bit bored and mnetting to pass the time Grin). I'm really surprised they've told us she's in labour actually - really expected the first we'd hear would be a birth announcement.

StealthPolarBear · 22/07/2013 09:00

EXACTLY

MortifiedAdams · 22/07/2013 09:07

Maybe they just want to be in control? Releasing statements so that its not the Press leading the way.

OP posts:
Zynzong · 22/07/2013 09:07

so all the journalists camped outside the hospital for the last ten days, did any of them get a photo? or weren't they up at 6am!? or is there really a tunnel!

MortifiedAdams · 22/07/2013 09:23

The tunnel thing isnt far off - evidently, access can be gained through the basement. I imagine the basement of another buikding is connected in some way.

OP posts:
Zynzong · 22/07/2013 09:33

wow, that's an exciting way to start labour! I wonder if the tunnel is regularly used, or if they had to hoover it?!

Snazzyenjoyingsummer · 22/07/2013 09:57

I didn't of course have any inside knowledge about the tunnel Wink but seriously, it always made sense to me there would be other ways in and out of the hospital and that one of those would be used.

The tunnel was hoovered, though as an extra precaution a footman walked ahead of Kate brushing away any remaining cobwebs Smile

I also always thought she would not arrive during normal working hours. While many women would stay at home for the very first part of labour, my guess is they brought her in straight away as it was better all round to do so out of hours. She will have all mod cons there so it's not such a hardship as it would be for the average labouring woman.

Sky News have Kay Burley on the doorstep of the Lindo Hmm Never mind, I am settling in to keep an eye on things while attempting to do some work. Much Brew will also be drunk.

MortifiedAdams · 22/07/2013 10:04

Maybe its a bit like the tunnel in The BUrrowers - linked straight from.Kensongton Palace, with a fast car to speed straight there.

Ooh I'm on a night shift tonight at the birth centre local to me. The talk will be of nothing else I'm sure :)

Midwives will be tutting over the obstetricians being the ones to deliver the baby. I wonder if she will have had it before I get into work.

eatyourveg · 22/07/2013 10:11

There must be more than one or two entrances for fire regs surely?

ZingWidge · 22/07/2013 11:18
Crown
lurcherlover · 22/07/2013 11:25

The Times website is saying she was admitted via a side entrance to the hospital at 6am.

MortifiedAdams · 22/07/2013 11:28

Right, am placing my bet.

4.14pm, girl, 6lb 11oz

XBenedict · 22/07/2013 11:34

My prediction is still for a baby tomorrow, same day as DS albeit 8 years apart. This time 8 years ago I was also in early stages of labour but I did not make the headlines.

My brother and I share our birthday with a royal so we have royal connections already Wink

I predict a girl but who knows, if it's a boy they may call him the same as DS Grin

DuelingFanjo · 22/07/2013 13:19

Ahem...

DuelingFanjo Thu 18-Jul-13 13:41:18
I was due on 13th and DS arrived on 22nd.

Though poor cow might be in labour for 3 days like I was.
Really not enjoying seeing all the press at her door.

eatyourveg · 22/07/2013 13:32

Half expect Nicholas Whitchell to start speculating on how far her cervix has dilated. Wish he would stop being so slobbery and obsequious.
