JaceLancs I am so, so sorry. What awful news 💔 He will be forever remembered on here as a fearless adventurer living a life he loved.

@JaceLancs I am so sorry.
He was special.

EmpressaurusKitty · 26/08/2026 16:13

Finlay got to live his absolute best life with you, @JaceLancs.

goodnesswhathappened · 26/08/2026 18:02

@JaceLancs Delurking (after a looong time as I don't have a cat) .What a terrible shock. I am so sorry. He was such a lovely fuzzy boy. He had a great life with you.Yep, I 've got something in my eye too.

ShoutyCatSlave · 26/08/2026 18:06

Omg, @JaceLancs! I'm so sorry to read that. Am currently in Greece on my hols, trying to pretend I'm not welling up in a restaurant. He will be missed.

JaceLancs · 26/08/2026 18:18

@Cnon @EmpressaurusKitty @ShoutyCatSlave @goodnesswhathappened and everyone else tagged previously thank you - I am in Turkey in my favourite cat filled restaurant with a huge lump in my throat

@JaceLancs

Aww I didn't realise he was so young. I wasn't on MumsNet then.

Pudmyboy · 27/08/2026 10:22

@JaceLancs he was an adventurer, I remember the thread about his physio following his hip surgery, and the pictures of him calmly undergoing hydrotherapy.
As others have said, Finlay had a full life, a cat's best life. And he loved you, that is clear from the gorgeous snoozy pictures. You did him proud.💐🫂

Breadcat24 · 27/08/2026 10:43

@JaceLancs beautiful pictures- what a sweet little kitty when you first got him! I know that you all know I am a push over for all cats but he really was the most gorgeous cat on "the litter tray" with his velvet fur.
It was lovely how he snuggled with you and participated in the lego.
I think we have all shed a tear for Finlay.
Wishing you the best

I encountered Picard this afternoon, having a nap in an alley.

What did he say? It doesn’t look like the comfiest place for naps.

RumNotRun · 27/08/2026 20:03

I bought the cats a haunted house scratcher.

It's actually very close to his back garden, so he wasn't far from home.

Haunted houses and ouija boards?

Is Halloween approaching? It's only August.

There are already some threads showing photos of shops with Christmas stuff.

Home Bargains is quite confusing. There's an aisle of Halloween goodies, then one side of an aisle with autumn things, the other side half camping stuff and half Christmas decorations. The next aisle has suncream and holiday bits and bobs on one side and Christmas opposite.

Allergictoironing · 28/08/2026 06:39

It's ALMOST September. I think the shops have been fairly restrained going by recent standards - I can remember working in Woolworths (shows how long ago it was!) on Boxing Day putting out the Easter Egg displays.

Of course I will be going all Bah Humbug come any shops I see with Christmas stuff before Halloween, or any Xmassy houses before 1 December.

Defiantly41 · 28/08/2026 10:56

Halloween might be early this year, judging by the ripeness and size of my first attempt at growing pumpkins! This was taken a couple of weeks ago, now orange and good basketball sized!

Beautiful tribute JaceLancs and that first day home photo is beyond adorable.

Try and have a good holiday and hopefully the Turkish kitties will help to start healing your broken heart ❤

Breadcat24 · 28/08/2026 15:06

This is a cat using a thing designed for cats- and so is a rare picture

Kitty as well - although I think mainly because it’s convenient for spying on the neighbours.
