Ha, Grumpy, I’ve also seen photos of your wounds after encountering TC!

Meanwhile, excellent prawn pose there from born-again nice boy Gizmo @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne

Just to prove it can be done... (I did manage it a few times)

He looks so gigantic in Grumpy's photos, and a perfectly normal size in those taken by others...

Pudmyboy · 29/10/2026 17:40

Are you implying Grumpy is vertically challenged Kirova ?

Pudmyboy · 29/10/2026 17:52

I hope you can get some sleep Broon, you must be exhausted, physically and emotionally 🫂💐

I was thinking more along the lines of being a secret EA. Their camera angles make rooms look massive but in real life you can't swing a bee nvm a cat. I always thought TC had bengal in him because he looked so big. Nope, just a lying camera 😅

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 29/10/2026 18:20

Actually Gizmo is quite a big cat (and also prone to getting a bit tubby ) He's about 6kg from memory.

I'm not particularly stunted. 😆

Defiantly41 · 29/10/2026 18:39

@Pixiedust1234, I thought Bengal in there somewhere too, mainly because of the black paws (and the arsey attitude)

edited for typo

He is reputed to be part Bengal - I think he's just a grumpy tabby 😹

Kirova · 29/10/2026 18:43

Who's calling Bengals grumpy?

Who's calling Bengals grumpy?

Almost everyone who lives next door to one😾

This one is local ish to me https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61592871863773

warning, very sweary!

RumNotRun · 29/10/2026 23:07

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne Lex offers you his favourite mouse to make you feel a bit better. I can post him to you if you like. He is being very affectionate but he has a tendency to dig at my stomach like he's trying to reach my spine.

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne I've been off-line for a couple of days, so have just seen the shocking news. So de-lurking to say I'm so sorry, Broon. Linney was a truly Excellent Cat. There have been too many sad losses lately.

Missingthesea · 30/10/2026 11:25

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne I follow these threads but don't post, as I don't have a cat atm. My last one was hit by a car too. I'm so sorry about your beautiful boy.

JaceLancs · 30/10/2026 11:40

Sorry to hear @Missingthesea
Hope you are doing ok @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne - I really appreciated all the support from the litter tray when we lost Finlay a few months ago

JaceLancs · 30/10/2026 11:42

Fergus and DGD are bonding well - he is so gentle with her ❤️

I agree @JaceLancs My friends were sympathetic when Frankie and Ghost were PTS, but if I needed comfort I came here cause I knew that people on this thread properly understand.

I'm off to the New Forest at the moment, so no cats for me till I'm back again, but I have been watching Boudicca on the pet cam. I should have bought one for downstairs so I could watch the other cats too.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 30/10/2026 14:54

When we were driving to the vet's with Linney (to arrange the cremation - he was no longer alive) we saw two rainbows.
It was strangely comforting.
The friend who was driving us said they'd been sent so that he could go over the rainbow bridge.

OMG I can't believe he's gone.

Hey all!
Sorry I've MIA. The swining illness took me down for months and then... on DS's birthday a month ago we got kittens!!
Super foolish idea but oh wow they're amazing.
So, their names are Jim and Leaf (neither were my choice) but finally a cat has chosen me! Boone was meant to be mine - loves DH, Eko was meant to be mine - loves DH and then Leaf was for DD and Jim for DS - so he decided he loves me! I'm so thrilled I can't describe.

But on Monday it became clear our most most precious Boone had run his race. We spent a wonderful day just sitting with him in the sun and then, with him in a blanket, we walked around 'his' garden and the front garden where he always insisted he had to go - no idea what was so exciting about it. Probably that Eko was allowed out there but not him. He got lots of Dreamies as he didn't want to eat anything else and then at 6.20, we wrapped him back up in his blankie and DS held him and showed him his school and the lights as we drove to the vets.
Our gorgeous vet is on hols but the wonderful nurse Ellie who he has seen so many times over the years, did the talk and the injection and stayed with us as it happened. She was utterly utterly wonderful.
DS was so upset but my poor DH, he has lost his soul cat. I don't even begin to know how to help him.

We did the paw prints at home - was a total mess - and we agreed after was perfect as totally Boone and his grumpy as attitude 😁

He is being cremated and then when his ashes come back we will sprinkle a few by the bench where after 6 years of begging for a cat, DH finally said yes. We're also putting some under his favourite tree and then we'll keep some in one of the special Monty Bojangles black cat tins so that one day when we move, we can take him with us as I cannot bear to imagine him not with us.

I know way too much information but I'm still numb to it. I just cannot accept he is actually gone.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 30/10/2026 15:00

@LostCats2 I'm so sorry about Boone.
He had such a wonderful life with you.
You were exactly the right person for him.
Sending you love.

So that's another one lost.
Is that five or six on this thread?

I'm going to start the next one soon, I think. There's a jinx on this one.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 30/10/2026 15:03

Gizmo is still lying next to me, in Linney's favourite place.
He even slept there last night. Linney usually slept there. Gizmo generally sleeps in his donut.

Aww, Gizmo. He is trying to comfort you.

Breadcat24 · 30/10/2026 15:12

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne I am glad you have Gizmo. You must be so sad about Linney.
Now you need to watch Gizmo carefully in case he suddenly decides you are OK and bites you or destroys your bathroom.

MiniPantherOwner · 30/10/2026 15:31

I'm sorry @LostCats2 It sounds like Boone had the best life a cat could hope for. I hope the kittens are giving you some comfort.
