That's sweet - I can imagine it must have been horrible for the driver too. I am glad he managed to find you so that you could hold Linney and take him to the vet yourself.

Now I feel bad for ill-wishing him, so I take it back.

RumNotRun · 28/10/2026 18:56

Oh Broon, I am so so sorry. Linney was a gorgeous handsome cat, and will be very missed by everyone who knew him. He had the best life with you. Hugs and love to you.x

Allergictoironing · 28/10/2026 20:07

Oh Broon, so very very sorry for you. Sending hugs and sympathy from one end of the country to the other😭

Fluffycat2906 · 28/10/2026 20:22

So sorry to see this, I don’t contribute much but have always loved reading about Linney’s adventures.

Pudmyboy · 28/10/2026 20:56

Do sorry @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne , Linney was a beautiful boy, what a horrible shock for you.
He was plainly much loved by all who knew him, and he loved you 💐
I hope you have people around you at this saddest of times.
That last photo is gorgeous, he looks so relaxed and fluffy 💐

Pixiedust1234 · 29/10/2026 00:51

I am so sorry Broon, he was such a beautiful boy. Sending you lots of hugs❤

I agree, there have been too many deaths this year, can someone waft some sage about in this thread please.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 29/10/2026 01:05

This has been a truly awful and sad thread for deaths. Just one after the other.
Devastating for us all.

This is going to sound mad, but I've always known (somewhere in the back of my mind) that:

A) Linney would die before Gizmo died

and

B) Linney would be run over

It's so awful.

I'm glad I've still got Gizmo.

I’m glad you’ve still got Gizmo too.

Allergictoironing · 29/10/2026 08:48

He may be a bit of a PITA, but looks like Gizmo was sent to you for a reason.

I'm glad I've still got Gizmo.

Give him a cuddle from me if you want to risk it..

Pudmyboy · 29/10/2026 09:04

How are you today Broon ?

Kirova · 29/10/2026 09:50

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 29/10/2026 08:50

Give him a cuddle from me if you want to risk it..

Still libelling poor TC, even from afar!

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne hope you are doing alright, as much as possible.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 29/10/2026 11:34

Still libelling poor TC, even from afar!

You can't teach an old dog cat new tricks. (Probably applicable to both me AND Gizmo)

stormsandsunshine · 29/10/2026 12:00

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOneI am devastated to read this. I loved seeing pics of Linney, he was such an elegant cat, and had such an air of wisdom about him. It’s absolutely awful.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 29/10/2026 12:32

Also hope you're doing as OK as possible today Broon. Look after yourself.💐

Breadcat24 · 29/10/2026 12:47

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne thinking about you today

CatsonPollock · 29/10/2026 12:50

Also thinking of you Broon. Linney was the OG Excellent Cat 💔

ShoutyCatSlave · 29/10/2026 13:14

Just catching up after a couple of days away. So sorry to see your sad news, @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne . 😥

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 29/10/2026 08:50

Give him a cuddle from me if you want to risk it..

He's letting people scratch his head, and I've even risked his tummy, but I wouldn't dare to pick him up.
DD2 and I have a routine for catching the bugger and putting him in his carrier when necessary. And that's after two doses of gabapentin.

Pudmyboy · 29/10/2026 09:04

How are you today Broon ?

I didn't go to bed last night. I just couldn't - I don't know why.

And today has been very difficult.
I went to the afternoon tea club. To get anywhere from my house, I have to pass the place where Linney died.
😿

OP posts:
TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 29/10/2026 15:54

I have to say that Gizmo seems a little bit lost today.
He definitely knows. He's lying next to me on the sofa, in Linney's usual place.

Here's the old scallywag.

Just to prove it can be done... (I did manage it a few times)
