I know someone with a catflap that stops her cat bringing prey in but I don’t know what brand it is. She seems happy with it though, I can ask if you like @Breadcat24?

@Pudmyboy Thanks for asking. It is an add on to your existing microchip catflap- a sort of camera thing with an AI algorithm that scan the cat's face and if it has prey in its mouth stops it opening. Not infallible - there was an amusing thread on here a few weeks back where the cat was smart enough to drop it then when it opened hold it with a paw and pick the mouse back up again!
It is pricey though and need a mains power connection outside (USB C) £200
I did look at the Onlycat but that is £499!!!!

We would only put it on one catflap so would have to lock the other one at night

By the way the mouse survived and was released under the shed where she could not get at it- but I do not think it enjoyed the experience.

This was definitely a mouse- brown and about 6cm long - not those bigger beasties we had earlier in the year.
This means unfortunately we will not be able to feed the birds this year unless we can find something that does not drop on the floor (advice on that also gratefully received)

Argh I polished the sitting room table with orange oil, only for Linney to come in after a rainstorm and deposit wet paw prints all over it.

She says it’s the Onlycat, @Breadcat24, & that so far it hasn’t occurred to her cat to try dragging the prey in afterwards.

Although I think the idea’s got her a bit worried now.
