......... and try to break into the film industry.

It'll be an unlikely success as they'll have to stay awake for long periods while filming goes on.

Well. Unless they decide to make Carry On Sleeping.

It's moving away from Grumpy that's done it IMO.
Grin

Nonsense - I bet he hasn't changed a bit.
If you met him in neutral or his own territory he was frequently charming. His 'personality' however was always present if he wanted to do something that you wouldn't let him do.
Oddly GT is exactly the same.

She wandered off, came back again & we worked out a way that I could keep crocheting the blanket while she sat on it

We worked out a way?
I didn't know Kitty could crochet.

Or talk

She can’t crochet as far as I know but she’s very good at getting her point across. Aren’t they all?

Leanora''s waiting patiently for her breakfast, I'm having a lie in 🐯

Hmm. I can see only one thing in common in the lives of Gismo and GT that may explain their behaviour... 😉😹

I have been keeping up with the thread, but work is going to very busy next term so I have had lots to do over the Easter holiday.
Also, Herbie hasn't done much of note! No crocheting or anything like that!
Not even any evidence of any hunting lately. But yesterday there was a gorgeous little pale grey tabby miaowing constantly at our door. I hadn't seen it here before so I did post something on the local Facebook. Herbie was sitting near it but didn't seem too bothered.
His vet visit for his annual jabs went ok. His teeth aren't too bad but weight still a little higher than it should be. (I had the same issue when I went to have weight, BP etc measured....DD persuaded me to go running with her while she was here and it made me realise how unfit I am, quite depressing!)

HumanToCatBeasties · 18/04/2026 13:58

@EmpressaurusKitty I love your crochet blankets and how lovely Kitty came and sat on your lap. I'm very jealous of the obliging cats that let people crochet, make Lego, do jigsaws etc. Mine just stomp on what I'm doing and wander backwards and forwards across me shedding fur everywhere.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 18/04/2026 15:46

Mine just stomp on what I'm doing and wander backwards and forwards across me shedding fur everywhere

Mine just stand on my head when I'm asleep (Llinney) or have sex with my duvet (Gizmo).

Nothing useful or productive.

Well. Linney's efforts produce his breakfast, so they're not a waste of his time.

Thankfully Boris lost his pompoms, as the vet nurse called them, when he was a young kitten, so no having sex with my duvet. They both wander all over me when I'm in bed though and Boris is an expert at waking me up for his pre-breakfast breakfast.

They both like sleeping on top of me as well. I sometimes just wish for a bit of personal space and then feel guilty as it's lovely that they want to be close to me.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 18/04/2026 16:31

Gizmo has been neutered.

Lots of neutered cats "make sexy biscuits".

🤣

OP posts:
HumanToCatBeasties · 18/04/2026 16:36

Boris was neutered earlier than the vets wanted to do it, because Cats Protection drummed into me that it needed doing early as he was with his sister and I didn't want kittens having inbred kittens. The vets agreed to do it in the end after weighing him. Probably Cats Protection being overly cautious, but he never seemed to miss them. I wonder if that's why he's never created "sexy biscuits" or if I've just been lucky.

Pianoaholic · 18/04/2026 17:20

Herbie also neutered but makes 'sexy biscuits'! 😂

EmpressaurusKitty · 18/04/2026 17:43

I used to know a neutered dachshund who got very horny with his toy badger.

Allergictoironing · 18/04/2026 18:32

Plenty of late neutered male cats go on to totally ignore anything to do with "pleasures of the flesh", and some early neutered male cats seem to be sex fiends for life.

Both of my boys were late neutered, one at about 18 months and the other probably about 2.5 years old, no biscuit making from either of them or at least not in a lewd way - Boycat did used to knead me sometimes but no accompanying gestures or movements.

A friend's Yorkshire Terrier (yes I know, a dog but similar type of thing) was done nice and early and would leap on anyone's arm or leg with squeaks of glee and get well stuck in. You would hear frequent yells of "Ugh get OFF" then would have a request to run the washing machine to get rid of the "residue" before it welded itself to the clothing.

LostCats2 · 18/04/2026 18:58

Ahahahaha. Sexy biscuits 😂
The things you learn on Mumsnet!
Ps that thread was gold

HumanToCatBeasties · 18/04/2026 19:13

I shall count myself lucky then that Boris has no interest in "sexy biscuits". He does get his mini Johnson out occasionally, but only for washing purposes.

Gross,!!🤢

Pud used to get his Spikey out for washing too and used to purr loudly whilst doing so....

RumNotRun · 18/04/2026 20:35

Fred also likes to get his lipstick out to clean and on occasion, will keep eye contact with me while he's licking it. No sex biscuits from any of this lot thankfully. A previous cat used to make sexy biscuits with a monkey soft toy I had. The fur would get all crusty from the cat sucking on it so I ended up putting a t-shirt on it to protect it!

Finlay is in for a change - mainly due to the rain earlier and that’s he’s been out hunting for a few days

The above-linked thread starts off fairly innocently, then suddenly descends into a Twin Peaks kind of oddness.

Furq.

Pianoaholic · 18/04/2026 22:09

That thread is very funny!

Quite a lot of typos!

learieonthewildmoor · 18/04/2026 22:31

What a shame it’s so short! From now on “Get a compass” is going to be a very useful phrase. I love Mumsnet.
Dreamies are sold under the name Temptations here. Cats One and Two love them, Cats Three and Four ignore them.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 18/04/2026 22:37

I imagine Furq being described in three different ways on Call My Bluff. Bet Frank Muir had the correct version.

stormsandsunshine · 18/04/2026 22:43

Snowcat, who is as pure as the driven snow, is Not Amused by all these horny male cats and their bed-shagging ways.
