......... as Gizmo and Linney almost reach their first anniversary, they reflect on the joys of living in the same hoose.

Finlay went rogue again for a few days - tracker out of battery etc
Home again tonight and back in Lego corner

Does Finlay ever try to get rid of the tracker, @JaceLancs, or is he not bothered?

JaceLancs · 19/06/2025 11:19

@EmpressaurusKitty no he had an air tag to start with - the tracker is not too heavy and he soon got used to it, never seen him try to get it or the collar off, although he has lost them as they are break free collars

RumNotRun · 19/06/2025 14:42

Vix has melted.

That’s good.

Kitty’s spent almost all day so far dozing in the shady bit of the balcony. I just see her ears prick forward occasionally when someone’s going past.

If anyone has a cat picture which hasn't been noted and annotated by my good self, post it again and tag me.

It's as hot as the bowels of hell here and Basil still choses to sit on a warm laptop wearing a thick fur coat 🙀

Bugger - chooses of course not choses above.

I’ve only just got round to reading the original Gizmo thread. I hadn’t realised it was in Classics.

Have you got through all 5 threads yet? 🤣.

Meanwhile in a rare exhibition of co-operation, all the Grumpy cats are in the same vicinity this morning.

What’s the next one?

I think Kitty & I joined the Excellent Cats just after he’d moved.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 20/06/2025 08:26

At the end of each thread there is a link to the next one.

His exploits now get posted in with the rest of the excellent cats. He's been demoted from having his own thread 🤣

It's hard to complete your ablutions when it's time for your morning nap and you're so sleepy 😴

Esgaroth the GC refer to this pose as "please may I leave the room to enjoy my wash in peace?" 🐯

I’ve been through them all now, thanks Grumpy.

It will become a Disney or Pixar film at some point.

My favourite Christopher Smart cat quote is “he loves the sun and the sun loves him” - it fits every cat I’ve ever met.

RumNotRun · 20/06/2025 16:14

Miss Tripod was outside enjoying the sun, well the shade, this afternoon.

Agatha has come inside to snooze on her sheepskin. The blinds are down, the fan is on, and she's quite cozy, thank you. She did follow me upstairs earlier to shout at me, because she was too hot, though, so normal service has kind of been resumed......

Finlay is not enjoying the heat - he’s lolling around not interested in food and only going out when it starts to cool off a bit
How are your kitties coping?

I love the matching eyes and fur trim!

Pianoaholic · 20/06/2025 17:51

Herbie is going out very early and very late in the heat. Sleeping inside during the day, although I'm sure it would be cooler outside in the shade.
Yesterday he had a playful 10 minutes pouncing on the (vicious) daisies in thr back garden. I threw them and he caught them in his claws. A new game !

EmpressaurusKitty · 20/06/2025 18:07

Clever Herbie!

Kitty’s been moving between the bedroom, where it’s fairly cool, & the balcony which is a mix of sunny & shady spots. She’s out there now supervising the kids playing below.

Esgaroth · 20/06/2025 20:24

10° here so Kettle's coping just fine, but I'm a bit discouraged 😄 It was so nice in May!

HumanToCatBeasties · 20/06/2025 20:42

I live in an incredibly cold house, so it's only reached 22 degrees in here. Boris and Matilda don't seem unhappy about the heat. They get to have a bit of time in the back garden when it's nice. Matilda spends her time trying to eat the plants while Boris has also recently developed a love of nature and keeps burying his head in cobwebs. I've told him that if baby spiders start hatching in his whiskers then he's sleeping in the shed.

stormsandsunshine · 20/06/2025 22:43

My cats seem to have spent the entire day under DD2’s bed - her room is north facing so a little cooler. They seem happy enough and clearly ventured out to eat at some point. The doors have been open all evening and so there are lots of small insects now in the house for them to chase.
