@EmpressaurusKitty
Breadcat stares at nothing but has an even more impressive act outside- lying down, bum up in the air, front paws akimbo, head looking up and whipping from side to side followed by a mad dash.
Sadly I have no picture of this

Breadcat24 · 24/03/2025 19:42

In light of recent events we have added a new verse to what we sing to the pussycat.
Sadly to the tune of Terry Jacks Seasons in the Sun- (do not know why hate it)
First verse
You're so nice
You're so cute
And you're in a furry suit
new verse
We love you pussy-woo
On our sofa
You do poo

We are an embarassment
do you sing to your cats?

Aragonite · 24/03/2025 19:44

I always used to sing You And Me Always by the Wannadies to my beautiful tuxedo.
He was an amazing boy.

PitaBreadIsTastyWithTuna · 24/03/2025 19:59

My cat hates me singing, she did check i was ok and not dying, it really scares her/ makes her uncomfortable. No idea why. Cat tax paid. Shes very pretty but not that bright. Very loved though ❤️

If you had a video of that you could probably sell it for gifs & buy millions of Dreamies with the royalties.

@EmpressaurusKitty mine often stare at nothing. I think they do it to try to freak me out and make me think there are either ghosts or massive invisible spiders.

Hmmm. I wouldn’t put it past her.

Pianoaholic · 24/03/2025 21:08

I always sing to Herbie. All sorts of songs I add silly, cat related words to. Herbie is quite indifferent to them.
Will try to add some examples but they are very silly!
Like yours though @Breadcat24 !

RumNotRun · 24/03/2025 21:41

Much to the tribe's annoyance and embarrassment, I often sing to them. Always nonsensical songs, sometimes based on real songs, sometimes just made up on the spot.

If you have an Echo/Alexa device you can ask it to sing you a song about cats. Unfortunately I much prefer the dog one.

I just tried setting Siri up on my iPhone to see if it would sing me a song about cats, but it wouldn’t.

My dad has Alexa so I may have to try it next time I’m staying with him. I don’t think I’ve ever sung to Kitty.

The Stray does that outside too, only her mad dash ends up in the pear tree. Sometimes she stops mostly at knee height, sometimes at head height, but once she found a squirrel at head height and tried to follow it upwards into the very, very tall plum tree 😬

@PitaBreadIsTastyWithTuna she looks very fluffy and snuggly 😍

Pianoaholic · 24/03/2025 22:54

@PitaBreadIsTastyWithTuna your cat looks a lot like my Herbie!

Second attempt to get Sebastian to the vet's this morning.

We're currently on the way. There is outraged miaowing going on.

I expect the poor animal is starving to death if he was unable to arrange his own midnight snack like last time. Really he has a lot to miaow about.

lazy cat GIF

He knew something was up.
It took DD forty minutes to catch the bugger from under the sofa.

He'll be so much more comfortable after this, though. There's something at the back of his mouth that needs to be removed because he keeps trying to reach it with his paw after he eats.

There's also a lump on the back of his neck which will be removed and sent for histology.

Sebastian is 14 now. DD2 reminded me that years ago, when he was neutered, she had to go and collect him at lunchtime from school, and she took him back there, so he sat through double history with Mr. Charlesworth.

I was on call and DH at the time was held up in central London. The vet insisted that Sebastian be collected at lunchtime. Arsehole. He could've kept him till after school, at least.

I don't think Sebastian was allowed to take GCSE history though.

I've been taking pictures and uploading them on to Vinted, of clothes I'm never going to wear again.

Gizmo has been helping. Sort of. 🤣

That was very accommodating of Mr Charlesworth.

Gizmo obviously wants to keep that green item!

I'm not sure he had any choice in the matter.
DD just waltzed into school with Sebastian in his carrier (having worked out that the staff giving her permission to do this in advance was unlikely) and presented Mr. Charlesworth with a fait accompli.

So Sebastian has actually been to school.

Briefly.

It's proving very popular on Vinted.

Luckily I've managed to prise it from Gizmo's clutches.

Just had a friend staying from overseas, she has the worst phobia of cats. I mean, absolutely terrified of them - I've never seen anyone have such a visceral reaction to cats in my life. I explained to her that Kloppy is like a giant teddy bear and Rosie is just tiny and slightly annoying 😅

Well, by the end of her short stay.... progress 🙀
