This was my little lady Tabitha. As you can see, she was very special 😹

Hope everyone is having a good Easter weekend.
Herbie is very interested in the cream on top of DS's trifle!
I would love a grey cat if offered one! Herbie, maybe not so much.

I feel absolutely terrible tonight. I didn't turn my landing light on when I walked out of my bedroom and I kicked (as in my foot connected when I took a step, not a proper kick) Frankie. He then jumped out of the way and fell through the bannister down onto the ground floor. I quickly went downstairs, he ran away from me into the kitchen, and then walked over to his food plate. There were no signs of injury and he ate his dinner with no issues. He's now upstairs sleeping so I think he's ok, but I still feel sick and upset. I could have killed him.

I have bought him Lick-e-lix to apologise to him so hopefully he'll forgive me at some point.

hugs Rum it's awful when that happens and you feel like the worst human ever. But you are not Flowers

@EmpressaurusKitty - - ooooo, can drinking wine be under Kitty orders instead of against doctor's orders? Grin

@Pollycreo - I think the cat redistribution service has kicked in. I fought against 3 strays who tried to rehome themselves before I threw in the towel and accepted my fate with no.4. The Stray has now firmly got her paws under the table (and bed and the sofa).

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 20/04/2025 22:40

Oh Rum, don't worry.
It must've happened to all of us.
We all feel guilty when we tread on them. It's not like we do it on purpose.
But the noise they make when it happens is awful isn't it?

Poor baby didn't even make a noise. I didn't stand on him, but kicked him. Thankfully I think I am forgiven as he just ate a whole Lick-e-lix and let me stroke him.

I think I'll be feeling guilty for a while yet though.

Allergictoironing · 21/04/2025 07:48

Annie came round yesterday for a bit and as per usual was ingratiating herself with Tobias, as she's the one who has to pick him up & crate him when he goes to the vets.

So he had a whole slice of ASDA extra tasty cooked chicken, AND a couple of splodges of butterscotch ice cream. Last time he had a whole teaspoon of fresh cream from a roulade we were eating as well as much chicken.

He definitely comes running when she's round these days! Sits on the floor close to her and will even put his front feet on her leg when she's giving him chicken, things he never does with me. But I'm the one he comes running to in the mornings for strokes, and he doesn't start eating his food until he's had strokes for a bit, so I know it's just cupboard love for her 😁.

Allergictoironing · 21/04/2025 07:49

Forgot to say - I know who is getting the blame next time the vet weighs him & he hasn't lost as much or any weight as he should have!

How is he this morning, Rum?

It was a bit delayed but Kitty now has her birthday catnip. The balcony has become a crack den.

Try not to feel too guilty Rum. I'm sure, with the exception of those with very skittish cats, we've all accidentally kicked or trodden on them. When Boris was young he used to follow me round the house and get underfoot all the time, so the I'm sorry I kicked you Dreamies used to make a regular appearance, while Matilda used to get well done for being sensible enough not to get under my feet Dreamies at the same time.

RumNotRun · 21/04/2025 10:56

Well, he didn't ask for any of our usual cuddles last night but he did sleep by the side of me so I think I was mainly forgiven. He seems to be fine, has purred and let me give him lots of strokes. I have learned my lesson about making sure the landing light is on though!

@Allergictoironingwas it the angel delight butterscotch ice cream? If so, that stuff is amazing, no wonder Tobias liked it!

ShoutyCatSlave · 21/04/2025 11:00

Agatha has not enjoyed the rain showers over the last couple of days and decided that the best way to dry off at 6am was to climb into bed with me and use my bare legs as a towel. Sigh.

Yes it was, I was introducing Annie to it. Boycat used to adore half melted vanilla ice cream.

That reminds me of the time I fell over Picard in the dark one night.

And he doesn't even live here.

By the way congrats on not getting suspended again- I thought everyone on the trans thread was toast

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 21/04/2025 14:13

@Breadcat24 Argh! I've been kicked off here countless times over the trans issue.
I am filled with relief over the SC ruling.

Anyway. Back to cats. Sebastian is still deaf but DD has figured out ways to attract his attention, and he isn't at all unhappy.

The vet told us that he's the first cat she's ever known who has had this reaction after a GA.

Which trans thread? Because I will admit to being just a teeny bit active on one, and I noticed Grumpy on that one as well a couple of times...

EmpressaurusKitty · 21/04/2025 15:59

I’m not as active on them as I used to be, though doing quite a lot for the cause IRL.

😱😱

I have no idea which company The Stray is under so must check. Can you call up your vets and ask if they will register Breadcat on a different one? You might need an appointment for them to scan first though.

Oh nvm, I didn't read the whole article. I would still contact your vet though
