Tobias is short haired and he is MOULTING! I've had a hairball a week for the last 3 weeks from him, ranging from about 2cm to about 4com - just waiting for this weekend's offering. They do get anti-hairball formula dry food every 3rd top up of dry, but he seems to have overcome the effects of this.

Girlcat had a very small hairball once about 4 years ago.

Don't talk to me about cats and their moulting.

I've just removed about two million bits of Gizmo's fur which were blocking the hoover.

I expect it's his revenge - he's still scared stiff of it.

So I (responsible for repairs to the hoover) sighed and dismantled it and cleared the blockage and not for the first time

Sorry @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne I have to disagree. With three furry black cats and one furry grey cat, we are constantly knee deep in fluff, and fur tumbleweeds.
I'm apparently the only person in our house who can unblock our hoover too...

This is why I have hardwood floors and rubber brushes! I also have those cat hair scraper roller things for the sofa and cushions, although Vixie gets very hissy when I try to de-fur "her" cushion.

At the risk of lowering the tone and talking about the cat nemesis that is the vacuum cleaner I find the vax pet really good- easy to take to pieces to remove all fur and the filters wash easily and you can get spare filters to put in. I am amazed each week that one little cat can fill it with fur.
With a clean filter in, it is picking up the carpet strong in suction.
But at the end of the day I would rather have fur to deal with and a cute cat than a pristine carpet and no cat.
I am also conscious that I wear black a lot and black with a sprinkling of tortie fur (always on the left) is not a good look

The friends who gave Kitty her skateboard came for lunch today, & went home with a scratcher that she’s ignored since it arrived. They’ve just sent a photo of their cat having a great time with it, so all good.

Yeah, I agree. She is capturing my morning feelings. However this was about her 17th nap of the day 😁
