Herbie wouldn't fit on top of his box of cat food as it's on top of a high cupboard (after the time, early on, he managed to help himself to a packet by clawing and biting it open.)
He has carried on trying to dig his hole. Or disturb an ants nest. I hope we don't have an ant invasion.
Other possibility is that he's creating somewhere to stash Dreamies for leaner times ahead when his diet gets stricter!

I'm in majorca with my two boys, it's beautiful but not at all relaxing (that's due to the nature of my kids, not the place). Haven't spotted a single cat yet!

We have a cute NMC. Her name is Toffee and she is very friendly. Apparently she catches loads of stuff! She looks part Siamese to me.
She is only around occasionally as the family opposite look after her while their friends from nearby on the estate go away. She then knows to come along to our road!
Herbie isn't too bothered. Even when she sits on our windowsill.

NMHC's! There were two more that I didn't get photos of. Seems all the cats are in Porto Cristo.

Kitty’s spent the entire day so far sunning herself on the balcony, just coming back in for food & litter tray. I joined her out there for lunch & was reluctant to come back in, it’s lovely. Apparently decking is great for rolling on although she’s currently watching the neighbours.

Agatha is currently having to lie in partial shade, as she was too hot. I give her 5 mins tops before she decides to sit on my lap (in full sun) and make it my problem to solve.

Everything is our problem.

Oh NMHC are the best! I was on holiday in the UK last year and this amazing Bengal rocked up at the back of the Airbnb, I'd never actually seen one IRL before 🙀 I let it in (of course) and made a fuss of it, then my parents came down and were like WTF so I ushered it outside again 😅 It was so beautiful and friendly and demanding I'm gutted I never took any photos to post on here 🫠

A NMHC last summer was the reason DH dropped his objection to getting cats. She used to come and visit us twice a day every day of the holiday, just to spend time with us.

I opened the door to let Gizmo out, and an off-lead alsatian suddenly bounded up the garden path.

Gizmo beat a hasty retreat back into the house, fluffed his tail out as much as he could, and scrambled up on to a chair (with difficulty).

He then gave me a nonchalant look, which clearly meant:

"I wasn't scared, you know. I wanted to get on to this chair. That was actually my intention when I miaowed for you to open the front door. By the way, has that dog gone away yet?"

That may have come as a shock to him - a dog that wasn't under his paw.
He doesn't look too stressed though 😺

I expect he wanted to make sure you were going to get inside safely & thought that was the best way to do it, Grumpy.

So I've put the cat food mountain away and today started to dispose of the delivery boxes. Sybil has a different idea.

I don't know what I'm going to do about Kloppy. His 'brother' passed several weeks ago and he's desperately missing him. They were good but not best friends and played happily together, zoomies and chased each other around the house and garden. Other resident female cat Rosie despises him 😿

He desperately needs a playmate but I'm wary about bringing in another cat. I don't know if a kitten would be a good idea, maybe a teenage kitten?

@PollyCreodo you have a good local rescue who may be able to advise on a good match?

I topped up the water bowl and fountain earlier then left the jug on the floor. Raven decided she likes the jug best. I did warn her if she gets her head stuck I will be too busy laughing and taking photos to help her.

Yes we have so many rescue centres here, I'm deliberately avoiding them at the moment. I'm waiting until a cat 'finds' me, if that makes sense?

That's a good plan. Hopefully the cat distribution service will send a suitable friend for Kloppy.
