He has just been going into a frenzy in the back garden, digging madly in one spot on the lawn! He was like a dog with a bone. It was funny to watch. I don't know what's there -maybe an ants' nest or something.
Luckily we're not too bothered about the state of our lawn, as there's now a bit of a hole there.

And in other news, here's Linney waiting at the vet's today, to get his Solensia and to be weighed.

He's gained 350g this month, which is good because he'd been losing weight.

I can just imagine the WhatsApp group Gizmo would set up with all the cats on this thread.

They could have a thread about us (The Excellent Slaves).

I think they might have to amend the title to (The barely adequate slaves), based on Matilda and Boris's opinions of the regularity of food, lack of daily roast chicken and the existence of rain.

Kitty would moan about how I ruined her morning. She was all comfy on the balcony and then an engineer arrived to service the boiler, so obviously she had to come in from her sunny spot and hide under the sofa.

Rosie is AKA Rosita Ryvita Fluffita. Kloppy gets called Klippy Kloppy Flippy Floppy or Kloppster Lobster 🦞 I really need to get out more 😳😂

Mine are ‘Batty’ and ‘Matty’.

My poor boy cat is a bit ‘challenged’, we all think. Well, his sister does anyway. So, he is ‘Batty’.

His sister has long hair. She is as cantankerous as they come, so it is rather a dangerous endeavour trying to get rid of the matted fur, and brush her to prevent from other mats forming. So, she is ‘Matty’.

Their other names are sort of pretentious Greek God pantheon ones. Although, no quite as elevated (highfalutin’) as the Iris, Midas, Achilles and Hercules titles of a litter I came across online.

I once heard about a litter in a rescue all named after crisp brands, including Monster Munch (Munchie) & Wotsit.

My old friend had 3 cats called Freeman, Hardy and Willis back in the 1990s. They now have 2 new cats... Russell and Bromley. 😸

Our previous rescue had multiple names and the little sweetheart answered to them all - Dottie, Dorothea, Pumpkin, Sweetie, Hunnybugs, although I think she thought her name was Hello Beautiful 😂

I keep calling The Stray by previous rescue's name of Dottie. That is not her name 😬

However I do keep calling DD The Stray's name so it must be stored somewhere in my brain. Just not in the correct part. Neither The Stray or DD respond to their "new" names except with looks of disgust 😕

Raven was originally named Aphrodite. She is as far from a beautiful elegant graceful goddess of love as she can be. She's now Raven, Raven Roo, Ruby Roo, Roobles, Hissy Pants, and any other nonsense I come up with.

Matilda has told me that if I mention that she is sometimes called Fluff Monster she will enact terrible revenge on me. Boris still gets called Velvet Kitten because he has such soft fur, but writing that out made me realise that it sounds like someone's porn star name and he's nearly 11 so doubly inappropriate. They both get called Hefalumpacat when they're clumsy.

Sorry I've been awol again. The thread went back about a month when I clicked on and it took me forever to catch up. My boys have nicknames. Walter is Walt, Walty, Little Walt (from when he was a kitten but it stuck), Old Man, and Walter Walter John Travolta! Benny is Ben, Benny-boo, Baby-boo, my beautiful orange boy, Benjamin when he's naughty, and "why are you such an ARSE?!" when he's...well, an arse 🤷‍♀️

@coastergirlToad has similar nicknames to Benny - Toad, Toby, Toby Toad, Tobias when he's naughty (a lot!), or 'stop being a dick/arse' when he is really pushing his luck!!!

Agatha is Agatha Cat, Little Cat or Grumpy Arse.

When she has a bit of chicken, I always asked her if she wants some by singing "Chickity China the Chinese chicken. You have a drumstick and your brain stops ticking." at her. She always looks disapprovingly at me when I do this, but eats the food anyway.
