Well, the boys among them are making plans.

The lady cats are having a spa fortnight in Italy.

Bills for flights, accommodation, food, booze, medical insurance and legal fees (not to mention a fund for bribing officials at Ljubljana Prison) are allegedly being sent to an unmonitored email address.

@Pianoaholic the cat care booklet we got from the RSPCA mentioned that white cats are more susceptible to skin cancer on their ears especially. I've just ordered this, which I'm hoping will be easier to put on than a cream, as it's a powder and comes with a sponge to apply it:

I don't know what you're meant to do if the cat just washes it off though.

I was just going to use some of ours, the vet didn't mention a special kind for animals!

I was also wondering if he will just try and wash it off . Better order some anyway.

I'm on a Facebook group about white cats, and sun protection is a topic that comes up quite regularly. It's a global group and most people are in sunnier climes than here and so it's probably more of an issue for their cats. A few people on that group have recommended this particular sun protection as being quite usable because it's a lot easier than trying to rub cream onto a cat's ear, which seems to me like a non-starter!

It's so rare here in Argyll that there's significant sunshine.

@Pianoaholic My cousin inherited a couple of yard cats along with a farm she bought, and one was black & white with much more white than black including both ears. It's ears were in a terrible state with sores & the like, and when her usual remedies for that kind of thing didn't work took it to the vet. Poor cat had to have both ears almost completely removed as it had skin cancer on both.

Also, we used to take great care with white horses on the places the skin showed pink through very fine hair e.g. ears on some (ours had furry bullrush ears so no issues for her there), white socks down near the hooves, on/near the muzzle. One albino with a very fine coat would get little lesions every year & have to have the vet cut them out, despite all his owner's efforts to protect him.

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne Argyll is SO beautiful though. One of the most beautiful places I've ever been. I've had lovely holidays there (though also a lot of rain).

@GrumpyoldpersonwithcatsNo but I did have to sneak into the kitchen to get the photo as he always jumps down if he notices me. I'm not sure if he's keeping his circus dreams a secret or he thinks I am going to tell him off!

It’s Kitty’s 6th birthday on Friday 28th & she’d love all the Excellent Cats to come to her party.
Fred can entertain everyone with his balancing. They can enjoy the view from the dizzy heights of her eyrie, have a go on her skateboard & get off their whiskers on the catnip plants she’s having as her present. Also plenty of paper bags & cardboard boxes available.

I've got some of Linney in our cupboard.
