Lap dances, strippers and punch-ups - the Excellent Cats arrange a stag party

Well, the boys among them are making plans.

The lady cats are having a spa fortnight in Italy.

Bills for flights, accommodation, food, booze, medical insurance and legal fees (not to mention a fund for bribing officials at Ljubljana Prison) are allegedly being sent to an unmonitored email address.

My non monochrome cats were
Tortoiseshell and white (long haired)
Grey tabby
Pale ginger

EmpressaurusKitty · 10/03/2025 17:01

I fostered 3 tuxedos, 2 voids, 1 tortie & a couple of white-with-tabby-splodges before Kitty. Some of them shed more than others.

I was at a museum recently and they had a display of old newspaper classifieds. There was one from the 1950s offering to pay the equivalent of about a fiver for a healthy male tricoloured cat - but no grey and not painted 😄

I suppose a tabby and white might have counted but it made me think it could have been someone who wanted a calico but didn't know that almost all cats of this colour are female.

I like to think the person had been tricked by a painted cat in the past.

His white bits are becoming more white, the funny little fuzzy thing. One day he may have all his fur back, but for now he is still past gremlin, part cat 😁

Kettle's being a sweetheart.

DD2 and I went to the vet's today with Linney and Sebastian, one of DD2's cats.

Linney had his Solensia. All good.

Sebastian was thoroughly examined because he has a lump on the back of his neck, and something going on in his mouth.

He has to go back next week for a GA, to have his teeth properly examined, and the lump excised.

You wouldn't think he was 15, though. He spent the whole time trying to jump off the table, and squirming up DD's am and down her back. He's quite a small cat and anyone watching this could be forgiven for thinking he was a kitten - he's so lively.

Gizmo proves that he doesn't really understand his Donut.

Can't quite work out how Sybil has moved from position A (prawning) to position B. Also can't really work out how her back leg has ended up where it is...

And my safety share for the day is...
If GT rolls over outside and invites you to stroke his tum - DON'T DO IT. 🤣

Ouch, I thought you'd already learnt that lesson! 😄 I admire your optimism.

I've been knocking around for over 60 years - still can't resist a cat's tum despite repeated experience suggesting that I should 🤣

I've been feeling rubbish today so have had a few naps accompanied by Nurse Frankie. At one point he was snoring and had his head and one arm resting on the pillow like a little human. I couldn't reach my phone for a photo though.

Stripey is in trouble because overnight she jumped up onto the kitchen island and had fun playing with the spider plant that was on it. In the morning there was a lot of soil and some muddy footprints over the kitchen. (I'm pretty sure it was her as I don't think Snowcat has worked out she can jump as high as the island yet, while Stripey does it every time my back is turned, and I caught her sniffing the plants yesterday.

She seems to have a fixation with soil - we had another houseplant that had to be locked away up high as she kept scraping the soil out and knocking the plant over.

DH wants to get rid of all houseplants, but I'm reluctant as the few we have were presents and I'm fond of them. (None of them are dangerous to cats, btw, so it's about the mess, not their health).

Do you reckon that when she plucks up the courage to go in the garden she will get her fill of soil-digging there?

He's slinking off in shame.
Or possibly in triumph.

It must just be you, Grumpy.

Definitely triumph.
And even I was known to stroke Gizmo's tum and avoid a savaging very occasionally 😁.

This series of photos is brilliant 😂 especially him slinking off in the last photo. I picture him saying quietly to himself "mission accomplished"

He was probably hoping to hear the sound of an ambulance approaching, for maximum satisfaction.

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne followed by the theme music to Casualty 😂

Pianoaholic · 11/03/2025 23:25

Naughty Stripey @stormsandsunshine .
Herbie often investigates the food recycling that's left out overnight to be dealt with next day (usually we can't be bothered straight away after dinner).

We occasionally come downstairs to find broccoli stalks on the kitchen floor, and other items he has tried and not liked!

Layout of our house isn't ideal as we can't close off the kitchen to thieving cats overnight.

RumNotRun · 12/03/2025 07:43

@Pianoaholic I tend to put pan lids over the used plate if I am not clearing up straight away (so every day!) as otherwise Vixen will "pre wash" the plate regardless of what is on it. She's then inevitably sick and I have to deal with that instead.

Most of the tribe are clever enough not to eat anything which is going to disagree with them but Vixie doesn't seem to be that bright!

Esgaroth · 12/03/2025 08:32

Now that it's so light when we get up to get ready for school, I let Kettle out after his breakfast. I was just making a cup of tea when I heard yowling.

I recognised the dulcet tones of the Pale One so I went out and he had backed Kettle into a corner right outside his own front door. Very rude!

I'm afraid I had to see him off the premises.

Kettle is resting after his ordeal.

Poor Kettle! I prescribe extra Dreamies/Churus/Lik-e-Lix/treats of his choosing.

Frank staked his claim on me last night. He glares at any of the others who dare to approach for cuddles.
