Lap dances, strippers and punch-ups - the Excellent Cats arrange a stag party

Well, the boys among them are making plans.

The lady cats are having a spa fortnight in Italy.

Bills for flights, accommodation, food, booze, medical insurance and legal fees (not to mention a fund for bribing officials at Ljubljana Prison) are allegedly being sent to an unmonitored email address.

Kettle's been enjoying some sunshine in the kitchen. Unfortunately it's still wet, windy and snowy outside.

Sybil seems to be enjoying the sun too. And doesn't seem to disapprove of the view 🙀

That’s going to piss Basil off!

It’s a bit chilly here today so Kitty spent most of the day on the sofa, but now she’s supervising the kids playing out after school.

JaceLancs · 04/03/2025 17:15

@Breadcat24 - so kind! I’ve just added Finlay on
I’ve not been on here much recently as having a very stressful time at work which has taken up all my time and energy
Some gorgeous cats on here as always

JaceLancs · 04/03/2025 17:16

Very stretchy kitty last night

He is very long @JaceLancs (and handsome of course).

stormsandsunshine · 04/03/2025 18:57

I’ve never had a cat with ears as expressive as Snowcat.

What’s she listening to?

stormsandsunshine · 04/03/2025 23:23

@EmpressaurusKitty on this occasion I think it was DH getting his bike out of the garage. But she has a great line in WTF ears when Stripey is racing about and generally being crazy.

I used to love watching my foster girls interacting - especially when one was doing something & the other was clearly WTF???

Another person here who's not been on much due to work & general knackeredness.

Got an email from the vet regarding Tobias's stomach, she's reached out to the Royal Vet College for any advice they had. They've suggested to go for a hydrolysed diet, which sounds fine in principle but has 2 main issues - firstly only seems available in dry food and both mine are used to wet twice a day and secondly you're supposed to do a trial which means 6 weeks of the hydrolysed diet and water, and nothing else at all. Apart from my relationship with Tobias being heavily dependant on bribery, that would be sooo unfair on Girlcat, and as "grazers" I can't feed them completely separately.

He seems fine otherwise, in fact in very good health apart from being a tad on the tubby side, so after discussions with Annie & a couple of friends I've decided to continue with the "do nothing & put up with shitty litter trays" option.

Vat also got advice on vaccinations for FIV +ive cats, and the general opinion seems to be don't if a) they are indoor and b) they've been vaccinated in the past, and he complies with both of those.

I think I said before that Kings have decided I haven't got Cauda Equina after all but will still see me about the other spinal issues. I have my chiropractor today, who's been doing mid-thorax upwards only since that original diagnosis, & will see if she's prepared to do a bit more even if it's only massage lower down.

RumNotRun · 05/03/2025 12:53

I've bought a new massive throw for the sofa. Lexter thinks he approves.

Hi @Allergictoironing
I think you're right to stick with the food that Tobias and Girlcat know and love.

[It's hard enough here in the wee Scottish village, keeping Gizmo away from the dry food (which causes bad diarrhoea in him).

He must have got some yesterday somehow, because the litter tray has been unspeakable today].

So trying to stop Tobias' usual food, never mind the bribery, would be very difficult for you, and probably for little or no gain.

I hope the chiropractor can help you today.

I used to love watching my foster girls interacting - especially when one was doing something & the other was clearly WTF???

In our house, it is ALWAYS Stripey who is doing something and Snowcat who is WTF.

I have a great video from when they were younger. Stripey randomly freaks out at a music stand (which had been in the same spot since they had arrived, so not new at all) and starts swiping at it and lashing her tail. Snowcat is lying on a chair next to the music stand ignoring all this. When the music stand doesn't back off, Stripey jumps up next to Snowcat and pushes her off the chair, as if to say 'you go and deal with it then'. Snowcat then walks up to the music stand, sniffs it, and looks at Stripey with an absolute 'WTF is wrong with you' expression.

Stripey also has dramatic responses to rain, snow, leaves blowing around in the garden, which cause her to charge around the living room with a bristly tail while Snowcat lies in her basket with WTF ears.

I thought I wasn't going to be able to post the pic. It said my images were under review. What am I supposed to have done?! Anyway, looks like it's passed the censor's critical eye at last.

It's not just yours 😄

Allergictoironing · 05/03/2025 16:28

For those who sent best wishes, Chiropractors was BLISS! Apart from a couple of caustic comments by her about the original mis-diagnosis (she's been sent copies of all the reports I've had), she gave me my first full body adjustment for 6 months.

The relief for my lower back is fabulous. I know I'll be stiff tomorrow, but my background pain is down to a 1-2 rather than my recent 4. AND I came home to Tobias asking for a shoulder & bum scratch, and Girlcat wanting snuggles on the sofa. Best day I've had for ages.

RumNotRun · 05/03/2025 16:33

That sounds like a fantastic day!

Ooh! Gizmo let me stroke his tummy today. Without assaulting me.

I was really surprised. He usually tries to rip my arm off in these situations.

His tummy has been very upset.
So you'd think he wouldn't want to be stroked on it.
