Lap dances, strippers and punch-ups - the Excellent Cats arrange a stag party

Well, the boys among them are making plans.

The lady cats are having a spa fortnight in Italy.

Bills for flights, accommodation, food, booze, medical insurance and legal fees (not to mention a fund for bribing officials at Ljubljana Prison) are allegedly being sent to an unmonitored email address.

@EmpressaurusKitty she looks like one of those Russian hats.

Fred is staring at ghosts on the wall behind me. I did check in case theres a big spider but there is nothing there. He keeps moving his head and eyes to track the invisible thing so he apparently can see something that I can't. Freaky little cat.

That’s what I thought, @RumNotRun. She was staring at things last night too.

Snowcat does this, but I think it is because she is obsessed with shadows and reflections, even very subtle ones. Mostly she stares at the wall but occasionally she gets interested in her own shadow on the floor

That’s really interesting. Kitty sometimes sits staring at the wall but it never occurred to me that she might be looking at shadows.

Some quite vigorous mutual grooming this morning.

Very cute!

Herbie is shedding loads of fur at the moment and I'm having to vacuum more often!
Guess it's time for shedding winter coats, and Herbie is quite fluffy!

stormsandsunshine · 24/02/2025 15:13

Yes I am noticing shedding season. Stripey cat has very short slick fur which usually doesn’t shed at all, but her favourite chair is covered in tufts at the moment and every time I stroke her another wadge comes out.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 24/02/2025 15:14

Gizmo, beside the bowl of cat food he'd tucked into fifteen minutes before DD2 came round.

He was clearly trying to make her believe that he was entitled to more food.

And then, worn out after a day of eating (and arguing with Picard) Gizmo collapses in a heap on the carpet, to have a well-deserved forty winks.

For a second I thought that was Gizmo and Linney 😲 Then I realised it wasn't @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne posting!

Edited

What have you done to Gizmo?- he looks like a hippo in that photo 😲🤣.

My friend has two large dogs and one small cat.

It goes without saying that the cat is the boss.

It does a bit. And Kitty would most definitely be the boss.

I love the way the cat is much higher up than the dogs! As befits his/her status!

So cute when they put their paws over their noses. 😻

My Molly's mice have arrived.

Uncharacteristically Boris was fast asleep and Matilda was in a playful mood, so I gave one of them to her. She didn't seem too interested initially and I was just about to give up, when she started making sniffing noises. She then decided to start scratching at the carpet and knocked a pile of socks off the dryer. She then spent several minutes happily rolling around in her sock pile with her mouse, before giving me a slightly confused look and going for a nap.

I missed Boris' initial reaction as I was in a meeting, but it didn't involve socks. Overall they seem to have been a success.

Sounds pretty good so far.

I’ve just seen this on Facebook.

The lucky Egyptian cat "Cairo" went to eat from the trash and found herself in London

A small Egyptian cat.. about a month and a half old was wandering around Cairo airport among the trash in the airport cafeteria and the cargo area.

By chance, the cat entered the Emirates Airlines plane traveling from Cairo to Birmingham in England. The plane actually moved with the cat inside.

The length of the flight was approximately 3000 miles. The plane arrived in England and the airport workers noticed the cat among the bags and informed airport security. Airport security received the cat from In the middle of the bags and transferred to the veterinary medicine department in Birmingham for analysis and placing it under medical and psychological observation for 14 days with good nutrition, in order to ensure that it is free of diseases and in good health.

Emirates Airlines offered to bear the cost of the medical examination of the Egyptian cat considering that it is an Emirates Airlines passenger coming from Cairo, but the authorities in Birmingham insisted on treating it as they treat Birmingham cats and named it Cairo.

After the end of the situation under medical observation For 14 days, they offered her for adoption to any English family and indeed an advertisement was made for English families about Cairo and the authorities received several adoption requests in less than a week.

The stray cat in the Cairo airport cafeteria (traveled to Europe, received the best treatment, was given a name, took citizenship, lived with an English family in England.

It would probably be quite a lot harder for a group of cats to sneak onto a specific plane. And not being stoned on catnip would definitely help.

Esgaroth · 25/02/2025 09:44

Aha, what do we have here?

(He'll be devastated when my children finally learn to tidy up after themselves - if the day ever arrives).

More neighbour trouble for poor Kettle. Unfortunately for him I think pale ginger is more of a bruiser than my guy. Bigger, better yowling, and Kettle was backing away and showing signs of submission.

I don't think they're going to fight, which is good, but I hope they can come to some understanding that doesn't stress Kettle out.

Poor Kettle!

Raven is being quite unladylike this afternoon, flashing her undercarriage at all and sundry.

My sympathies to Kettle, being hounded by a ginger thug.
Cat bed sharing seems to be an ongoing thing in the Grumpy house at present. I suspect it's because we don't put the heating on very often
