Well, the boys among them are making plans.

The lady cats are having a spa fortnight in Italy.

Bills for flights, accommodation, food, booze, medical insurance and legal fees (not to mention a fund for bribing officials at Ljubljana Prison) are allegedly being sent to an unmonitored email address.

Linney has now jumped on to the windowsill, which he knows Gizmo cannot reach.

It hasn't even been in the sun yet. I think they pre-emptively claimed it. Contrary little beasts,they ignored the sofa in its previous position but it's "new" now so they must stake their claim.

We tried seeing if the cats would like to visit the garden as it is such a nice day. They haven’t been out before.

Stripey freaked out at the idea and went to hide behind the piano in the other room.

Snowcat came a few times to sit on the threshold of the garden door, intrigued but shaking with anxiety. Then when the fresh air was too much, she’d run away and sit on the stairs for a bit.

So much for my worry that they would immediately run off never to be seen again!

Snowcat is happier watching the garden from the safety of her cat tree hidey hole.

So I mentioned previously that Gizmo's unused igloo was donated by NDN to us and much to our surprise both Basil and Sybil use it regularly.

A few days ago we couldn't find Basil, but then realised that they were no longer having a timeshare arrangement...
Still can't really work out how they both fit.

She’s so pretty.

Once I’d cat proofed my balcony, it was weeks before Kitty would go out there. I’d open the door & she’d hide under the sofa, but she very gradually got used to it & now she asks me to open the door.

Herbie has been playing with his blue star again!
Other than that, he hasn't been doing much of interest.
When we first let him out in the back garden, he went straight up onto the fence and disappeared! Which was a bit stressful.

18 and a half is a great age for a cat to reach, but still an awful shock if it's unexpected. No real advice other than look after yourself and reflect on the good times you had with her. 💐

Thank you all for your kind words. She had been gently declining for a couple of weeks with fortnightly vet visits, but yesterday she took a turn for the worse and it was clear she had had enough .

Here she is a few months ago ( if the pic ever appears)

So sorry @Defiantlynot41 , just echoing other posters, that she was a 'good age' and obviously so well loved 💐
We have all been there so please feel free to talk about her on here, it can help
One thing resonated for me when I was in your position: your cat was loved her entire life, up to and beyond the end.
I still say I love my little Pud, rather than saying I loved him. There will never be a past tense.
Let yourself grieve, it is a very real loss, the cat shaped hole they leave in your life is much bigger than their physical shape 💐
