Well, the boys among them are making plans.

The lady cats are having a spa fortnight in Italy.

Bills for flights, accommodation, food, booze, medical insurance and legal fees (not to mention a fund for bribing officials at Ljubljana Prison) are allegedly being sent to an unmonitored email address.

Cat Four looks like a very talented Noodler.

@learieonthewildmoor my “no cats on the table” rule is facing difficulties now that the cats have discovered they can leap up onto it without needing to jump on a chair first, which is very exciting. They are definitely aware of the rule because they jump off quickly if they see me coming. They seem to understand the sentence “don’t even think about it”, which makes them pause as they are gearing up to jump and pretend to groom themselves until they think I’m not looking.

Apart from being a good place to practice noodling (does that means the extended stretching cats indulge in?), you Left Something Out which obviously Must Be Sat On Straight Away, and your other kitty obliged!

Was very disappointed by the lack of pictures of your cats- the only reason I look at Mumsnet!

I annoyed Gizmo very much in the process. It took quite a while to get his claws out of the clean pillowcases.

We are in a standoff with a cat from down the road who is very curious about the arrival of new cats in our house.

He never used to come anywhere near our house before the cats arrived. He has come to the windows before but our cats just hid. They are feeling more assertive now.

Oh gosh. That’s how Gizmo started.

I managed to whip the old sheet off & the new one on while Kitty was having tea. By the time she got back I’d nearly finished replacing the duvet cover, & she was back up there before I’d started on the pillowcases.

The irony is that I know this cat. When he was a youngster he was quite friendly and would come to the garden to play with my children and would welcome a stroke or playing with their beach ball. Then he got all standoffish and for the last few years we see him crossing the garden but he would run away whenever we came out. The children were sad and would have loved him to come and stare at our window. But as soon as we have cats then our house is all the rage again…

Are the girls both done, or might one or both be coming into heat?

They’re both done @EmpressaurusKitty. I’ve no idea if the other cat is neutered (I’ve always assumed so but not sure) and I did wonder if he could tell they are females through the glass, but presumably he wouldn’t be attracted to spayed females anyway.

Mr Tuxedo long since gone but Stripey is wondering if he’ll come back - not sure if she is hoping for it or guarding the house against it.

Breadcat is pleased we are home- she is very cuddly- and making sure we cannot leave her again
