As we approach the festive season, they're already finessing their plans and recalling last year's successes............

I like how the box has been selected to match her eyes

Sybil in a box.

Sybil is a stunner, no wonder she has a steady queue of would-be suitors!

Izzy making use of her Christmas present from Allergic.

And before anyone asks - he's not had his legs strapped - they're tabby stripes!

Loving Sybil in a box!
Finlay is crashed out on my lap - which means dinner might be later than usual

Jealous of all these lovely lapcats!
Only time Herbie goes near my lap is if i have a plate of food there!
He has got a bit friendlier though, which is great. He only used to purr when food was involved, but he does purr more now at random, non food times!

You couldn't possibly move with that guy on your lap. He's so gorgeous - is his fur as soft as it looks?

Izzy making use of her Christmas present from Allergic.

That looks like the same one Kettle has! He usually prefers the sofa but it's nice to have an alternative when people rudely sit in his spot.

I am sure Izzy will soon have it decorated to her liking with all that lovely white fur. Of course choosing somewhere paler to shed the black fur 😉

Agree the colour of the box is perfect 👌 Sybil is a cat of fine tastes.

JaceLancs · 29/12/2024 18:54

@Esgaroth yes x he’s got silky soft fur which is as deep as a best Axminster carpet!

Herbie is being so lazy this holiday. He seems to be staying in all day, only going out briefly in the evening and then in all night!
I've come to the conclusion that because we are all in, instead of at work/school, he thinks he will get more food, and follows us into the kitchen most times where he sits looking up hopefully.
He jumped onto the side and got some red velvet cake yesterday, very naughty. All the crumbs on the floor gave him away!

He looks most offended at all these slurs on his character and physique 😄

I've got a food obsessed thief as well - uncleared up yoghurt bowls are his favourite but he often jumps in the sink to check if there are any edible scraps in the strainer. He does at least have the sense to look slightly embarrassed when caught debasing himself to this extent.

Pianoaholic · 29/12/2024 19:11

Herbie has no shame at being caught on the kitchen worktop, sometimes when I go in and catch him.on there he just carries on licking whichever bowl, plate or baking tray he's found!
I can't get too cross with him, he is just a cat who knows what his priorities are in life!

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 29/12/2024 19:19

Linney likes being on the worktop too.

Glad it's not just Herbie displaying this delinquent behaviour!

Anniegetyourgun · 29/12/2024 20:02

My robocats don't do worktops. When Izzy was new here she tried to jump onto a worktop that was pretty much full of stuff, and fell off, so she decided kitchen surfaces are Not For Cats and hasn't even tried since. And Thrifty is too fat to jump up anywhere much higher than herself. Anyway the cat treat cupboard is ground level so that's where they line up with the cute pleading eyes. Such a contrast with the late Oscar, who reckoned the only good food was people's food, and was once discovered up to his ears in a chocolate tray bake.

Of course! The pale grey cover on my bed is a favourite.

Vixen likes scavenging for any leftover butter, mayonnaise, yoghurt, ice cream, cheese etc. Unfortunately dairy makes her vomit so I have to be really careful to not leave even the tiniest scrap lying around. Toad and Franklestiltskin have been known to lick frying pans clean if steak or bacon has been cooked. In fact, some of the people who've been here a long time may recall when an unknown beastie stole a spicy piece of meat (jerk steak maybe, I can't remember) that I had left in a frying pan, under a lid to cool. Frankie was caught eating it and loving every bite.

From my perspective there's a difference in dignity between licking the yoghurt out of a bowl and getting fully into the sink to scrounge tiny damp pieces of rinsed mince... cats may disagree 😄

Breadcat24 · 29/12/2024 22:09

Is this like humans licking yoghurt lids?
Breadcat cannot get on the surface or in the sink but she is a lady and an old lady at that

RumNotRun · 30/12/2024 00:01

Vixen is so deeply asleep that her head has fallen off.

I have come to bed only to discover that my side of the bed is occupied. I wouldn't mind so much if she were facing the other way but despite being such a dainty pretty cat, her bottom makes the foulest smells 🤢
