As we approach the festive season, they're already finessing their plans and recalling last year's successes............

She should have several names as all cats do. Frankie for instance is Frank, Frankie, Frankenstein, Frankfurter, Frankincense, Smol, Tiny Cat, Merp, Lego cat (cause his head is quite square).

That’s a very fine collection.

She’s also got Tesorina (little treasure) & other names that we keep private to protect her dignity, because apparently they’re embarrassing.

Should I take it to Baby Names, do you think?

If you do, you'll only end up with a long series of posts which recommend the name Balonz.

There will be an equally long series of posts which recommend the name Jimberley.

Somewhere (most likely Surrey) there must be a Mumsnetter by now with a cat named Balonz!

There's a cat on my pillow.

Is he still there? 🐯

Always happy to welcome new cats!

I don’t know why they look familiar, they must just have those sort of faces.

I don't know why but that really made me smile@EmpressaurusKitty !

..........it is true that brown - or broon - cats are under represented when it comes to colours. Especially all brown ones. Beautiful.

Yes. Although it was our very elderly neighbour who called Gizmo "The Broon One" when he couldn't remember his name.

Our other very elderly neighbour calls him Gonzo.
Grin

Ha! Our neighbour is convinced that Elton is called Elvis - I just let it go now 😐

Must be!

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 20/12/2024 09:30

You know on the original Balonz thread? What were the other two names she put forward as possibles? I can't be bothered to look it up.

It was something like Michael, Anthony or Balonz.

Esgaroth · 20/12/2024 10:07

Sean and Daniel Grin

Anybody getting 3 male kittens soon?

Doesn't sound so bad to be outside in the summer but it was a very cold wet summer here, not much different to a winter in the south of England where I grew up.

I think people did put out food for him, though. When he was rescued he was dirty and injured, but not underweight. Here he is in the shelter just before we met him.

Poor Kettle. He looks so sad in that photo compared his current happy cozy photos.

Boxing day can't come soon enough for Elton - he's getting sick of my nonsense!

He's scared of the pom-poms unfortunately!

I can neither confirm nor deny if I bought any raffle tickets to win this valuable prize.

Heaven! Snowballs, Teacakes and Caramel bars.

I was hoping to cover the stand of my tree, and threw the ‘skirt’ on the floor ready to do later. My girl cat had other ideas. Names too outing for my two, if anyone knows me. Let’s just say they are from a gods pantheon, as befitting their species. So I’ll go with Athena and Hercules.

Well, Madam is now esconsed between the window and the tree, on the skirt for the stand. Not to worry, there is warm air being emitted from under the windows.

Wow, I don't think I've seen such a brown cat before, he/she's gorgeous! What are their names?

I agree, every scrap of him/her is the same beautiful chocolate brown 😻

RumNotRun · 20/12/2024 19:52

Frankie is so cute when he's relaxing. I love that he uses his paw as a pillow.

Elton looks very cute @Puppylucky shame he's scared of the pompoms. In a moment of lockdown madness/boredom I decided that what my cats really needed was a massive pompom. After a very long time of winding wool and hacking through all the layers with scissors I hung it on a nail above the kitchen door. The cats eventually came down to see what was happening and ran back upstairs in terror. They eventually got used to it, but it malted bits of wool which Matilda kept trying to eat, so it's now taking up a stupid amount of space in one of my drawers.

Absolute LOL at the terrifying monster pompom and poor frightened cat Grin

@RumNotRun I couldn't sleep last night and when I saw your post about having 6 3/4 cats I started trying to remember their names. Frank, Lexter, Vixen, Toad, Ghostie... but that's only 4 3/4! Please put me out of my misery

Fred, the white one, and Raven, the fat black grumpy one. When we were younger my grampa would often call us by every member of the family's name cause he would forget which one we were. I find myself doing that with the tribe sometimes 😁

Blinkin’ heck! I take it that it’s a case of the Pom Pom being very near to the camera lens, and the cat being further away. Otherwise, I don’t blame poor pudser being concerned.

Sergeant Gizmo reporting for duty, Ma'am!
Dreamies packet heard at a hundred paces!
What position shall I take up?
