As we approach the festive season, they're already finessing their plans and recalling last year's successes............

Cedric is a bit scabby at present so is wearing this rather stylish scarf rather than a lampshade to protect her neck.

Oh such a beautiful boy Gizmo!

Fred, the white one, and Raven, the fat black grumpy one. When we were younger my grampa would often call us by every member of the family's name cause he would forget which one we were. I find myself doing that with the tribe sometimes 😁

Thank you! What a splendid... what is the collective noun for cats?

RumNotRun · 20/12/2024 22:23

Apparently a clowder, clutter, or my new favourite, a glaring 🤣

Oh I love a glaring! We must adopt that!

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 20/12/2024 22:48

A cat, glaring.

At me.

Oh dear, he does look very disapproving. Have you supplied insufficient Dreamies again?

Esgaroth · 20/12/2024 23:46

Wowsers!
He never stops eating them.
😂

EmpressaurusKitty · 21/12/2024 07:50

Kitty can count Dreamies. She knows she gets three a day & stands up on her hind legs to take them from my hand.

If the third one doesn’t appear quickly enough, she stares pointedly at my hand / the packet until it does.

Wedgwood turned his back on learning Times Tables 🐯

I’ve just brought a new jumper home but it looks as if I might not get to wear it today.

@EmpressaurusKitty Kitty's Dreamie counting skills are impressive. You should be honoured that she thinks your new jumper is suitable for sitting on to perform bum washing.

@KeziaOAP Maybe you could bribe Wedgewood with some Dreamies to learn his times tables? He is a beautifully fluffy cat.

Yes, it looks like Kitty needs it so that she can wash herself while lying on it.

I think Wedgwood is just telling you that he knows them all now.

EmpressaurusKitty · 21/12/2024 14:06

I was sorting the clean washing before I went shopping, & I think Kitty decided that washing was for having a wash on. Apparently that now extends to anything else I leave on the bed.

Maybe she’ll let me try it on after she’s had her Dreamies.

It's OK, I'm sure he'll never need to know this stuff in real life.

EmpressaurusKitty · 21/12/2024 14:40

I can imagine division being useful in a house with multiple cats.

learieonthewildmoor · 21/12/2024 14:41

Cat Four came to snuggle up with Three and put her head on him.
In a completely unexpected turn of events, Cat Three did not like this. He gave the offending head a good wash and sloped off.

A sad portrait of a starving cat who cannot believe it's not dinner time yet 😢

He's just gonna wait by the recycling and hope he doesn't collapse with hunger before someone remembers to feed him.

Toad is being a stroppy teenager today. He keeps following me and shouting at me. I think he's moaning that he's bored. I've fed him, topped up the dry food, filled all their water bowls and fountains, thrown his springs for him to chase, given him his Pickle toy, tried to cuddle him (that was NOT what he wanted), taken him upstairs to watch bird TV (i.e. I have fed the pigeons on the extension roof so he can watch them all). Nothing is working. I think it's the equivalent of a teenager saying "I'm bored" but not actually wanting to do anything. I even tried taking him outside but the wind scared him.

RumNotRun · 21/12/2024 15:06

Oh and the litter trays have also been cleaned.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 21/12/2024 15:08

Apparently that now extends to anything else I leave on the bed

.......... including nothing, in this house.
I stripped the bed in order to change the sheets, and the Broon One got up on to the bare mattress and fell asleep immediately.

Cue outraged hissing and spitting when I asked him nicely to get off again.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 21/12/2024 15:12

I even tried taking him outside but the wind scared him

It didn't scare Linney.

It's blowing a hoolie here, really high winds and bucketing rain.

He stood by the door, miaowing to be let out, so I opened it and said "You don't want to go out in that, surely?"

But he did want to. So off he went.

Then he immediately ran over to our neighbour's wheelchair shed to shelter. Idiot.

RumNotRun · 21/12/2024 15:25

At the moment he is asleep so I'm trying to stay very still so I don't wake him. Maybe I can send him to Scotland and he can see if The Broon One and Linney want to play 😂
