As we approach the festive season, they're already finessing their plans and recalling last year's successes............

Two beautiful boys ❤

EmpressaurusKitty · 17/12/2024 16:58

Beautiful, but I've also heard a lot of horror stories about kittens & Christmas trees.

Although it often seems to be a tossup whether the cat or the tree is in more danger.

RumNotRun · 17/12/2024 18:05

Gérard and Brendan look like they are going to be trouble! Absolutely gorgeous though.

Please don't let them be around the tree unsupervised though as the lights can cause injuries or worse.

Kitty is being adorable. I’m working but have to stop every so often to duly adore her.

Well, look at her.

She is so beautiful and the female version of Elton!

Elton is incredibly handsome!

Thank you @EmpressaurusKitty! With his dodgy kidneys, problematic paws and very bad breath he has to have something going for him 🤣

Edited

He looks very comfortable, at least! And he’s lucky to have ended up living with you.

The foster kittens have all found homes. We might be having one of them back over Christmas because his human is leaving the country for a holiday. Fostering is great fun, no foster fails this year! The best kitten name was Alan Titchmarsh, the kitten was found in a garden centre.

Excellent name!

Kitty is a foster fail. But I got through 2 years & 9 cats before she caught me so I think that’s pretty good.

It's a few years old this pic. They're both huge now.
Gérard (ginger) still tries to get up the tree, so no, I can't leave him alone in the room with it. But I'm more afraid for my baubles than him.
He's a wee nightmare.
He does love Christmas

Puppylucky · 17/12/2024 19:55

Hello lovely thread people! In the spirit of Christmas gratitude, please can I share a photo of Elton one year ago Vs today. If anyone doesn't know, Elton is a young rescue with FiV and stage 3 CKD. When we rescued him, we had no idea of how serious his health problems were. This last year has been very difficult. All our expectations around pet ownership have been upended, as he needs a lot of medication and monitoring - it's also cost us a fortune! However, the little boy is still with us and doing very well at the moment. Comparing the two photos really made me grateful for how far he (and we) have come, and that he has had a very good year against all the odds. Thank you for letting me make a very self indulgent post but I know you would all get it. Normal service of Elton under a blanket to be resumed shortly!

That was a beautiful post Puppy.
He is very beautiful and so very lucky to have found you, who love and care for him so well.
May 2025 be very good to him ❤️

Litter tray is my favourite part of MN.

I'm always lurking on here and LOVE the pictures of your beautiful cats.

RumNotRun · 17/12/2024 22:17

I'm impressed by Elton's willingness to let you dress him up! I am also jealous of your shutters, they are nearly as gorgeous as Elton!

Puppylucky · 17/12/2024 22:32

Honestly @RumNotRun the dressing up is most unlike him. We have been harness training him, which has been going about as well as we feared, so maybe he was throwing us a bone by letting us put the scarf on. The antlers were when he was very small and quite ill most of the time - he's literally propped up with them balanced on his head! Many thanks about the shutters - they were here when we bought the house so can't claim any credit.

LostCats · 17/12/2024 22:45

Bless his heart. His eyes look sick in that photo with the antlers. I have a few horrid chronic diseases and I know that look in his eyes 💔 so glad he looks so much happier in the scarf one.

HumanToCatBeasties · 17/12/2024 22:54

@Puppylucky Elton is a lucky cat to have found an owner who was willing to take him on despite his health problems. Sorry that it's made it a tough year for you, but glad his health is improving. He's a beautiful beastie.

RumNotRun · 17/12/2024 22:58

I have no idea what has happened but Toad suddenly had a tiny bald patch on his head. There's no cut or mark, just a little circle of white skin.

I am traumatised - I bought Finlay a black silk bow tie to add to his collar for Xmas week and have forgotten where I put it!
Had to visit pets at home tonight and buy a gaudy gold glitter version
DD Dcat Presley will be getting a red velvet diamanté version from me for Xmas but Finn needs something more sophisticated
First cat world problems I know but it keeps me away from stressing about real life issues

RumNotRun · 17/12/2024 23:24

I think Finn would look dapper in this one.

How odd! He looks like someone has shaved him
