As we approach the festive season, they're already finessing their plans and recalling last year's successes............

Coaster I am so so sorry. It is just so sad and awful 😞

I've got the same NMC from Reykjavik @EmpressaurusKitty !

Wow!!!

Here’s today’s rather festive NMC.

I am a very happy cat slave this morning. Both when giving Tobias his first shoulder scritch, then when giving him his breakfast bum scritch, he PURRED!!! Girlcat wasn't close so I couldn't have mistaken her purring as him, and TBH hers are almost inaudible and this was definitely louder.

That's lovely. Matilda and Boris are the complete opposite and were hand reared by someone at Cat's protection, so are super affectionate (with me anyway, Matilda is a bit antisocial with everyone else). It must be so rewarding to take on a stray and have them start to accept affection.

I've been contacted today by Yet Another previous frequenter of the litter tray who is currently out of favour with MN. She has assured me that she continues to follow these threads as a passive observer, wishes everyone and their cats well and sympathises with those who are poorly.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 15/12/2024 15:24

Not my Dortmund cat (couldn't afford it - despite being cheaper than Basil's last vet bill).
And an NMWR 😁.

Are MN picking us off one by one? It's a trap, just like TC's tummy!

Frankenstein is cross at the spate of banning. He will miss the updates on the various long-term residents.

I think I've only had one MN post deleted, for being naughty on the FWR board. But the rules there are very vague imo!

I am making duck giblet gravy atm, thinking about saving the heart and liver for Kettle (not all at once). Isn't organ meat supposed to be good for them?

EmpressaurusKitty · 15/12/2024 19:05

I’ve had some posts deleted on FWR & I think I was suspended for a week once. But it’s been a while.

Pianoaholic · 15/12/2024 19:49

I was thinking if posting on FWR board, maybe I won't just yet. After all, I have only just started posting on mumsnet and don't wish to be banned!
Herbie feeling a little unsettled as DD is back from her first term at uni, so everything is different. He is pacing about in the living room, wondering why there are suitcases etc everywhere.
Took a funny pic of him...he wasn't meant to do this, but just as I took the photo...!

Frankenstein gets the giblets from the turkey every Christmas. He loves them, the other cats aren't really bothered, not that they get a chance with the tiny one around. He gets quite ferocious about guarding "his" giblets. He also loves chewing on the neck 🤢

Harriet and Roy have settled in perfectly, and are in charge here.

I received a MN ban once. It almost felt like a right of passage 🤣.

How the heck did you get one? I've never seen you outside The Litter Tray. A phrase I never thought I'd say to a human!

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 16/12/2024 06:22

@RumNotRun - On the political threads round about the time of the election I gently took the mickey out of one particular (and rather prolific) poster by posting under a parody username similar to hers to reply to her. I genuinely hadn't realised that this is the MN equivalent of Mog's BAD THING.

I was suitably repentant and welcomed back into the fold.

Love it! Some people are so sensitive 😉

Just reread this and cringed.
I meant (of course) rite of passage. Apologies.

HumanToCatBeasties · 16/12/2024 12:52

I'm just laughing at the MN equivalent of Mog's BAD THING. 😂

RumNotRun · 16/12/2024 13:39

I have done a separate post on this but in case any of you don't venture onto the other sections of MN, does this bloke remind you of anyone? My nephew and I are convinced he's on TV, possibly a presenter?

Bobby Ball from Cannon & Ball?

I thought that too but he died in 2020

Esgaroth · 16/12/2024 16:24

His favourite 'watching spot' - warm by the radiator with an excellent view. The weather distinctly unappealing, though as you can see he did pop out earlier for a bit.

Kitty came out of the bedroom when I got back from shopping. The duvet was crooked & there was a warm patch just underneath with a few hairs on it.

We have small beds that belong to cats & big beds that belong to everyone. I’m pretty sure that’s how they see it.
