As we approach the festive season, they're already finessing their plans and recalling last year's successes............

My condolences to your friend @coastergirl

I was feeding the birds this morning out of my back bedroom window when Ghostie decided to run out onto the roof (much to the shock of the pigeons who were having breakfast!). She went down the roof onto the garden wall so I ran downstairs and out the back, only for her to go back up onto the roof, crying like she was lost. 5 minutes of me trying to coax her down and she went back to the window, so I ran back inside, up the stairs, opened the window...yup, she was back on the wall. I went back outside (walking this time, I had no running left) and ended up grabbing her off the roof, by the scruff and taking her back in.

Bloody cat! For those who don't know, she is a three legged cat so I don't like her being outside as she is more vulnerable. All my cats are indoor cats (too many assholes round here unfortunately) but she's the one I most worry about if she gets out.

coastergirl · 14/12/2024 12:23

I lost my first cat that way too, and Walter was extremely lucky to survive when he was hit on the same road as my friend's cat. They're in bits, it's just horrendous. You just want to say or do something to help, but you know you can't really.

CatsonPollock · 14/12/2024 13:23

Condolences to your friend and family - coastergirl. Loosing a cat because of illness/old age is tragic enough but suddenly and violently without warning is just horrible. 😔

Goodness Rum! What an early morning "caper"! But a small silver lining... you got your steps in today 😁

EmpressaurusKitty · 14/12/2024 09:40

I know it was obvious to us but there are still idiots around who can’t be bothered or ‘think they’d like their cat to have kittens’.

Looks as if all of that user's posts have now been removed. Not convinced about their reasons for posting - and I'd never use their business based on their posts 🤣

RumNotRun · 14/12/2024 13:40

@CatsonPollock and all of that activity before I'd even had my first cup of coffee!

Pianoaholic · 14/12/2024 16:33

Really sorry to hear about that @coastergirl, sad news

Breadcat24 · 14/12/2024 16:38

@coastergirl tragic sorry

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 14/12/2024 16:52

Just been playing with TC's ex dad's sister's cat (sure there must be an abbreviation for that).
Here is NMGK. 9 weeks old, who was dumped on the side of a road at 6 weeks with his siblings.
Also chocolate cat's tongues anyone?

@Grumpyoldpersonwithcats Those eyes how could anyone abandon that cutie.
Say Hi to TC's ex Dad from all on the Excellent cats thread hope he is ok without his little tiger.
For your abbreviation sister's cat is Schwesterkatze
so you could have XDTCS

AnneKipankitoo · 14/12/2024 18:38

What a beautiful cat @Grumpyoldpersonwithcats .

Defiantlynot41 · 14/12/2024 18:56

Beautiful Grumpy. If you want chocolate cats tongues in the UK, Betty's of Harrogate have some small but delightful boxes in milk or dark chocolate, both delicious

Thank you all for your kind words. I'll pass them on. I agree. I lost my first cat in the same way, and another to antifreeze poisoning when I maybe hadn't tried quite hard enough to make him come in the night before. The "what ifs" are so so painful.

Mine are very cross that I won't let them out. Need to come up with a long term plan because my house is really open plan so I can't keep them away from the doors.

Esgaroth · 14/12/2024 19:14

I'm so sorry to hear about your friend's cat, coaster. What a tragedy. I hope he didn't suffer too much.

EmpressaurusKitty · 14/12/2024 20:38

I’m so sorry, @coastergirl.

I’ve got an NMC from Copenhagen.

I'm reliably informed by SWMNBN that a good deal of hissing accompanied this picture of the broon one and the white one. 🤣.
Impressed by Copenhagen NMC.

EmpressaurusKitty · 14/12/2024 21:21

I haven’t seen any live NMCs so far, come to think of it, but then I wouldn’t expect to see any in central London. There were some quite impressive cat beds.

Good to see the Shell cats.

Oh, you can't really see Toad or Frank. They are there.

Fred is on my jumper on the ottoman, looking very comfortable.

I am a very happy cat slave this morning. Both when giving Tobias his first shoulder scritch, then when giving him his breakfast bum scritch, he PURRED!!! Girlcat wasn't close so I couldn't have mistaken her purring as him, and TBH hers are almost inaudible and this was definitely louder.

LostCats · 15/12/2024 08:43

Oh Allergic how wonderful!!!!
