As we approach the festive season, they're already finessing their plans and recalling last year's successes............

Ha ha Esgaroth! The black cat is the number one soul in this house. The kids know he even comes before them 🤣
He costs us an absolute fortune in meds every month and is treated like an absolute king. He can’t jump anymore so is lifted on and off everything. I love him so much it’s unreal. He loves DH. I have my uses. Typical 🤣

RumNotRun · 13/12/2024 12:55

Five of the beastlings are in their favourite places. I was considering relocating to the settee to work this afternoon but there's no room for me.

The misshapen lump under the fleece blanket is Agatha. The other photo is her on top of the fleece blanket. We're currently waiting for her Christmas present to arrive - a self-heating pad. It might tempt her out of my space. Maybe.

We had an even distribution of cats this afternoon, I was very pleased. The only difference is Cat One is normally on the bed. Cat Four LOVES his tail and if he wants to relax he puts a little distance between her and him. Happy to see Cat Two on her throne. She’s been in her cottie bed under the bed to show her displeasure at the intrusion of Cat Four. She’s coming round.
Four cats is not too many.

Closest I've got to a NMGC so far. 🤣
Scenery here is gorgeous - bloody cold though.

SWMNBN has been in touch to confirm she is still reading the threads - and offers this update, plus a photo of TC from a few minutes ago.
Suzi popped round and the Broon one hissed at her

I’m away for the weekend & Kitty will have a lovely time with her cat sitter, H - although she has been known to turn her noise up at her for not being me, which led to a chat about manners.

Long Finlay is fabulous.

Thanks for this Grumpy, feels like we are all rebels flaunting the ban, I am such a goody two shoes generally so I am thrilled at taking part in the naughtiness! Germany looks a true winter wonderland

RumNotRun · 13/12/2024 20:25

I've melted Frankie again.

Wonderful news about the lost kitty returning and I'm going to assume she's being suitably grounded/no pocket money for the next few days. What a relief.

It's actually quite easy to get a ban. I got threatened with one after posting "I didn't realise it was April 1st". I assume the other twenty odd posters with similar sayings also got the same email but who knows.

I hope TC's (ex) dad hasn't upgraded his stripey baby to one similar to Grumpy's photos 😱

So very sad here tonight. My best friend lives round the corner, and her cat was hit by a car earlier. She got him to the vets and they were trying to save him, I was on hand to take them to the out of hours in Liverpool who had the facilities to look after him, but he passed away before we could take him. Utterly heartbreaking. He was only a year old, two days younger than our Benny.

I'm home now and refusing to let Walter and Benny go out. They're unimpressed but safe.

JaceLancs · 14/12/2024 07:35

@coastergirl so sorry to hear about your friends cat - I worry so much about Finlay crossing busy roads but he hates being stuck indoors so much

Defiantlynot41 · 14/12/2024 07:40

@coastergirl Flowers

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 14/12/2024 07:55

Very sorry to hear about your friend's cat @coastergirl. Her cat may have had a short life - but I'll bet it was a happy and a fulfilling one.

Allergictoironing · 14/12/2024 09:06

Got vet results from Girlcat's blood test yesterday, completely clear of FIV/FELV. TBH I wasn't all that concerned that Tobias may have given it to her, as he is fully aware that she is the boss and would never dare to bite her!

Just saw that condescending post here about "get your cats neutered". Wrote a long reply partly suggesting that they research their audience before telling grandmothers how to suck eggs. Also pointed out if they are talking about strays why no mention of FIV/FELV - a subject obviously close to the forefront of my mind these days.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 14/12/2024 09:15

Pleased to year that Girlcat's bloods are clear 👍.
As an aside - I reported the previous thread (now removed) from that poster as it had a link to her pet sitting business...

EmpressaurusKitty · 14/12/2024 09:40

I know it was obvious to us but there are still idiots around who can’t be bothered or ‘think they’d like their cat to have kittens’.

Papergirl1968 · 14/12/2024 10:03

I’m so sorry about your friend’s dcat, Coaster. We lost two cats that way when I was much younger and still living with my parents, one a week before Christmas. Heartbreaking.
Glad girl cat is ok, Allergic.

Allergictoironing · 14/12/2024 10:22

EmpressaurusKitty · 14/12/2024 09:40

I know it was obvious to us but there are still idiots around who can’t be bothered or ‘think they’d like their cat to have kittens’.

Hence why I suggested that they actually check the demographic of the people they are targeting. That would be a very useful post on a generic forum, that doesn't have mostly well informed and conscientious cat people on it, but almost the same as posting advice aimed at people to encourage them to have a pension on a Financial Advisor's forum, or promoting the use of flu vaccinations to a GP forum!
