As we approach the festive season, they're already finessing their plans and recalling last year's successes............

Oh Kettle! What a happy cat!

He wasn't so happy when his pale ginger nemesis disturbed his birdwatching time. There was much yowling and some hissing.

I declare Kettle the winner based on tail fluffiness. I hope they don't make it physical if they ever meet outside!

Kettle has a magnificent stripy fluffed out tail. It's lovely that he's becoming a lap cat, although you might regret it when you're pinned underneath him and want to move.

Would love a lapcat- 8 years since taking Breadcat in and still waiting. Sometimes she puts a paw on my knee.

Be careful what you wish for. Can't sit down in our house for more than about 30 seconds without becoming a cat cushion. Lovely but does massively encourage procrastination (or procatsination perhaps?).
Also love Kettle's bushy tail.

@Breadcat24 you can have one of mine. When they're in the mood I can end up with Toad, Raven, and Vixen all sitting on my lap. They're quite heavy and warm!

Vixie is currently doing a big dribbly blep face at me while purring and trying to touch me with the tongue. She doesn't lick, she just touches you with her soggy tongue 🤢

Kettle is so sweet with people, it's quite funny to see him calling Ginger rude names and threatening to beat him up.

I'm not sure if he'd actually do it though - maybe his yowl is worse than his bite.

He knows he's got a good thing going and has no intention of sharing with anyone else!

I'm currently pinned under Matilda. She's lovely and warm, but I really need to check on the beetroot I've got cooking and she won't appreciate being turfed off.

Now for the picture!

We have just cooked an amazing piece of roast beef. It was perfectly rare and tender. Of course Toad as my sous chef had to sample some, and then came the others! I must admit I have been stingy with the sharing though. I'll have to give Dreamies to make up for it!

When I say "we", I mean Toad and me. He takes his job of supervising very seriously.

@Puppylucky Looks like Breadcat - except Breadcat is more pissed off about me taking her picture than Elton!

@Allergictoironing It's good to see a fellow beetroot lover. I'm cooking my Polish nana's recipe which involves cooking the beetroot and then grating it, so very hard to do without making a complete mess everywhere.
