I spent ages last night trying to think of this thread title.

🤣🤣🤣

Hey! Big news!

DD2 is arriving in the village next Friday. She'll be sharing DS2's flat to start with, till she gets her own place.

She has two cats, so you'll be hearing about them quite soon.

Cosy Kettle. The vet says his leg is looking much better. He has an appointment on Monday to probably get the stitches out and then we'll see. We might be reaching the end of his cone-finement.

No news on the hair tie but he seems normal in every way so I'm not too worried about it atm.

Fantastic news @Esgaroth! Paws crossed xx

Fingers crossed it's finally coming to an end! He's going to be the happiest boy 😸

Great news, Shell. The excellent cats are a thriving international community - 2 new members in Scotland!

Today we have a NMP. They're very lovely birds and not at all bothered by me seeing how close I could get.

I don't know what a NMP is but that looks suspiciously like a seafaring roomba to me.

@TheShellBeach did I dream about you mentioning putting Gizmo on Yumove since the solensia doesn't seem to be working? Was wondering how that was going.

Gizmo is on a different version of Yumove, called Pawbits.

It's got exactly the same ingredients but is much cheaper.

And it hasn't made any difference

cone-finement
Brilliant @Esgaroth ! Up there with incatacipated, when you are trapped under a cat but have things to do (that obviously aren't going to be done because you are... incatacipated)

RumNotRun · 01/11/2024 17:09

Not My Pelican. There are loads of fish near the shore today so lots of pelicans and some type of gull.

Conefinement is definitely a term I'll start using now - love it 😁.
Along similar lines to incatacipated we refer to ourselves being incapussitated.

Actually I think incapussitated is the correct term, I think I have improvised with incatacipated !

Esgaroth · 01/11/2024 18:54

I love both incapussitated and incatacipated! I've yet to experience it with Kettle, who is more of a side by side snuggler, but our friendly neighbour cat visitor Luna has incapussitated me a few times. She hasn't been round since she discovered that Kettle was here 😕

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 01/11/2024 19:09

Incapussitated or incatacipated - I need to go to choir practice in three minutes 🙀

Finlay has been very naughty this week - lost one tracker collar - spent a lot of time AWOL and has been spending time with residents of local nursing home - he obviously visits different elders who I am sure love him as much as we do!

Finlay is just so gorgeous! I am sure he brings bliss to the elders whilst enjoying the fuss he gets

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 02/11/2024 09:04

Basil in a box. Doubly good because I've left the paper packing inside as well.

Is all back to normal on the Basil front (or should that be 'back'...😉) Grumpy?

Pixiedust1234 · 02/11/2024 11:18

Oh that's a pity about Pawbits. My DD has been offered something similar via her vets and on looking at the ingredients Yumove is 150mg Glucosamine and her vet one is 505mg with added 400mg Chondrotin so quite a difference in strength. She didn't mention the price though.

Looks like Finlay is living his best life because you can bet your last penny he's being offered a few dreamies per room 😂 Has his old tracker been switched off?

It does seem to be - thank you.

Boris and Matilda have had a confusing week. They've been confined to upstairs while various banging and drilling was going on outside. I've just let them downstairs and they're probably thinking wtf have you allowed to happen to the house? Boris did manage to scare one of the tradesmen, not sure how since he is the worlds friendliest cat.

TheShellBeach · 02/11/2024 18:50

Oh @HumanToCatBeasties what have you done to those poor pussy cats - they're clearly searching for a bunch of dead mice which have been inexplicably moved in their absence.

OP posts:
HumanToCatBeasties · 02/11/2024 19:00

I hope there's no dead mice! The slugs somehow getting in and eating the cat food was bad enough. I've not seen any since the work started, so I'm hoping however they were getting in has been blocked up.

EmpressaurusDeiGatti · 02/11/2024 21:48

Kitty’s pleased that the fireworks are quieter tonight!

HumanToCatBeasties · 03/11/2024 08:50

@EmpressaurusDeiGatti Kitty is so pretty! Glad she had a more peaceful night. Luckily mine aren't too bothered by fireworks, although they were a bit startled at some really load ones close by on Halloween.

EmpressaurusDeiGatti · 03/11/2024 09:04

@HumanToCatBeasties Thank you! Matilda & Boris are pretty gorgeous too. I hope you don’t get any more slugs / dead mice.
