I spent ages last night trying to think of this thread title.

🤣🤣🤣

I do like the way Finlay and Gizmo are providing a befriending service for older people. I am sure they both do it for entirely altruistic reasons.

Does anyone listen to The Archers? This week there were a lot of references to Hilda. She bites and scratches in a way reminiscent of Gizmo before he became a nearly reformed character.

Breadcat24 · 03/11/2024 15:35

Are you sure there is no tuna involved?

RumNotRun · 03/11/2024 15:36

Finally! I have met another NMMC. His name is Mika and he is the most chilled cat I think I have ever met. He lives at a fantastic cafe where we went for breakfast and even when a husky was barking at him, Mika barely twitched an ear. He has recently opened his own IG page @mikafelocal

I am sure that Gizmo does it so he can be offered sardines.

🤣

Son of Gizmo strikes again - I even got a friendly head bop.
My cats don't like him.

He looks lovely @Grumpyoldpersonwithcats

My old cat Alizè hated ginger cats so much. He didn't particularly like any cats but he could tolerate other ones. If he looked out of the window though and saw a ginger cat in the garden, he would practically fly out of the cat flap to chase it off.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 03/11/2024 18:04

He looks lovely.
I think so too - but I may not be the best judge - I rather liked TC 🤣

Given Gizmo's previous behaviour at the Grumpy house, are you sure he isn't less visiting the elderly and more breaking into their houses and helping himself to their dinner?

Finlay looks completely innocent though.

That's one handsome fella! Looks like he knows it too!

How dare you impugn my dear cat's character!

All my neighbours like Gizmo. They welcome him and lead him straight to their sardine departments. Without fail.

Also, Gizmo has confided in me that Grumpy never gave him a single sardine.

Ask him about the dreamies though...

HumanToCatBeasties · 03/11/2024 20:52

I'm feeling that I've been depriving Boris and Matilda as they've never had a single sardine off me. I'm not rushing out to by any though. I expect it would be like the time the owner of the cattery told me how much Boris loved lix-e-lix. After asking what on earth a lix-e-lix was, I went out and bought a box, only for both cats to eye it up suspiciously and refuse to touch it.

EmpressaurusDeiGatti · 03/11/2024 20:55

Kitty’s never had a sardine either as far as I know, but I was warned about her sensitive stomach.

She stands up to take Dreamies from my hand though, which is the cutest thing in the universe.

Esgaroth · 03/11/2024 21:26

When he's sitting right next to me and wearing his tights I sometimes let Kettle have a break from the cone. Do you think he enjoys it? 😄

Poor fellow, I know it's driving him mad, hopefully not too much longer.

Actually, confession time - Guillermo has only had sardines once, from our strange neighbour.

The resultant poo was grim (for him, and for us) so I had a word with the man and made him promise not to give G any more.

Grumpy, you'll be pleased to learn that Mr G has confirmed that you gave him Dreamies.

Bless you all - thinking Finlay is innocent - after ignoring me for 2 days he’s spent all Saturday with DP and all today with DS
I am just the sachet opener in his life!

Shall I clean my paw, or just leave it hovering and lick my nose instead?
He held up his paw for over a minute before putting it down again.
Dozy cat 🤣

The cat equivalent of walking into a room and then standing there wondering why you came in. 😄

Thanks for the new thread Shell.
Just gone against veterinary advice and let Basil out for a stroll 🙀. I do suspect he'd be more stressed if he didn't go out so I regard it as therapy. He has peed in the tray today (huzzah) and has spent most of the day asleep either on me or Mrs G.

Lovely looking cat!

No no! I won't have it! There is a lot of deep thought going on!

Esgaroth · 04/11/2024 11:41

Kettle's had his stitches out and everything looks like it's going in the right direction says the vet. Unfortunately it's not yet time to remove the cone or stop the bandaging. Please send healing thoughts and prayers 😄

He also had his picture taken for the vet practice Instagram account, the handsome fellow.

Breadcat24 · 04/11/2024 11:57

@Esgaroth he looks so happy lying on his back with you stroking him- cannot believe how short a time he has been with you
Any sign of the hair tie?

In other news some creature has taken to pooing on our lawn. I find this out as my husband has carefully put in a circle of pointy sticks around it "to deter it as it would be uncomfortable"
yes darling that is a perfectly normal response rather than just hosing it off and bunging a bit of bleach in the area!😾
