I spent ages last night trying to think of this thread title.

🤣🤣🤣

Kettle suggested a few revisions to the document. He thought we should delete a large section and replace it with a row of commas.

I have taken his ideas under consideration.

I hope you're going to give him a large pay rise.

Indeed, it's rare to see such bold initiative and out-of-the-box thinking in one so young. He didn't even put on Track Changes so I could tell he was confident it was the right call.

His only flaw as an employee is the regular and lengthy naps, but some say that's part and parcel of WFH.

Casing the joint this afternoon - just after stopping at our patio doors. That's Gizmo's fence he's on 🙀

I recently pulled together a project initiation document including what everyone's role on the particular project was. Knowing nobody reads these documents I added Basil to the matrix with 'responsibility for project rodent control and napping'. Document got approved and signed off without one person noticing. Convinced I shoukd have got him on the payroll after that.

Defiantlynot41 · 25/11/2024 13:54

@Grumpyoldpersonwithcats , @TheShellBeach are you totally sure Grumpy's visitor isn't Gizmo having had a go at this?

Reminds me of the employee ID for the cat who lived at a hotel - her role was mousekeeping 😄

My sister's dog was the wellbeing manager at her last job, working pro bonio.

As I said, that's Gizmo in disguise. He told me he wanted to go back to annoying the Grumpy family and their cats, and that he had "unfinished business" with Sybil.

He refused to elaborate on that, then set off with a bindle over his shoulder.

🤣🤣

Like Kettle Boris takes a keen interest in revising my documents and attending Teams meetings. I'm pretty sure he thinks he is an important part of my work. I'm an author on some academic papers and if I ever get to be the corresponding author I would love to try and sneak Boris's name in there as an author. That's probably too ambitious I'm 99.9% sure that no one would notice an acknowledgement of his help though.

learieonthewildmoor · 25/11/2024 16:24

My sister’s cat likes to attend her meetings, but isn’t as interested in helping with documents. Just a show pony.
I downloaded one of those cat apps for Cat Four but she much prefers the flashing blue cursor when you post on Mumsnet and any games you might be playing. She’s my technical personal assistant.

learieonthewildmoor · 25/11/2024 16:27

Forgot a photo!
We moved the plant so she has all the room in the world and she no longer has any interest in sitting there.

Kitty doesn’t hold with meetings. Or with messing about with computers when it’s playtime.

Matilda agrees with Kitty's stance on meetings, she finds they take away from valuable sleeping time. She does enjoy a wander across my laptop at the most inconvenient moments and managed to get her claw stuck under the p key the first time I used it so now it sticks.

Kitty’s ignored my laptop so far, although she’s had the odd glance at the screen.

A couple of my fosters were obsessed with chasing the cursor, & I had one boy with a spectacularly floofy tail who liked to sit on the mouse to remind me when it was coming up to lunchtime.

RumNotRun · 25/11/2024 18:54

Raven loves to stand on my desk when I'm on Teams calls. She blocks the screen with her big bum and waves her tail in front of the camera. Toad likes to walk back and forth periodically throughout the day, whether I'm on a call or not but he has an annoying habit of standing on my keyboard. He has been known to type messages to people, sadly nothing coherent.

EmpressaurusDeiGatti · 25/11/2024 19:14

All the best Zoom / Teams meetings include at least one cat.

Papergirl1968 · 25/11/2024 19:48

How is Fin today, @JaceLancs ?

RumNotRun · 25/11/2024 20:16

I've swapped the heated blankets over cause the bigger one is a bit crap so I've spread it out under the Sherpa blanket. I think the dopey pair approve.

@Papergirl1968 Finn seems to be doing ok thank you - he’s eating ok and off all medication - he’s not been staying out for as long as he used to but who can blame him in this weather!
Right now he’s peacefully snoozing in his little house

Lexter didn't believe me when I said I'd placed a super comfy blanket on my bed for him. I've just come upstairs to go to bed...I think he believes me now.
