I spent ages last night trying to think of this thread title.

🤣🤣🤣

"Help me! I'm stuck in box! Starving! Send treats!"

I might have translated the "help me" part wrong, I am a bit rusty at this.

Aww, loving Finlay’s Christmas tree 🎄

nettie434 · 23/11/2024 23:05

Here she is, testing my brand new electric throw. It already has pulls on it from biscuits.....

I don't know why sellers like Lakeland carry on pretending that heated throws and blankets are made for humans. They should be upfront and market them exclusively at cats. The only reason why they pretend they are for humans is because humans are needed to purchase them.

RumNotRun · 24/11/2024 01:05

These two are ridiculous. They are so cute together. Vixie gets away with behaviour that Toad would not tolerate from any of the other cats.

I agree about marketing heated blankets for cats. To be honest, the same could be said for cosy non heated blankets, duvets, beds, sofas...Maybe that's a business idea. A furniture shop that sells cat friendly furniture that they will not only love but also not be able to wreck. All the chairs and sofas should have built in scratch pads incorporated into the design so that they blend in. Easily removable/washable coverings too.

Deja vu. Deja chat? Deja TC?

Lenny was very unimpressed.

That's Gizmo, in a ginger cat disguise.

I wondered where he was.

I think I need to buy one of the heated cat throws. Both Boris and Matilda have been taking it in turns sleeping on my ancient unheated throw. Boris made himself a sort of nest in it when it was very cold.

Here's the budget version of a heated throw... I'm thinking about getting him one of those radiator beds for Christmas 😄

Kettle advises Lenny to make his tail as big as possible. The ginger cat in the garden will eventually saunter casually off run for his life.

Some of my fosters adored the radiator bed. It hasn’t really been cold enough here yet for Kitty to think of trying it though.

Mine used to have one, but Matilda isn't the lightest cat and over time the sheepskin bit got stretched lower and lower. I should buy them a new one. I'm feeling a bit guilty at the moment because two of the radiators downstairs have been taken off the wall while it was plastered and haven't gone back yet. It was freezing last week and the cats weren't happy. It's warmed up this weekend, but there is a howling wind that I'm worried is going to blow bricks off the chimney that I recently found out is in danger of falling down. Every loud bang I'm thinking cats, wind or chimney?

I'm sure Lenny can make his tail massive with all that fluff, but I think he's just waiting for his chance to tell the ginger cat that the last cat that bothered the Grumpy cats got exiled rehomed to Scotland.

TheShellBeach · 24/11/2024 12:21

@Grumpyoldpersonwithcats

Mr SB is a sucker for big ginger cats, so he says we'll take him in the fullness of time, when the intruder becomes TC2 and needs a new home.
Linney and Guillermo are not so sure.

Poor Fred. My friend was here for 6 hours yesterday and has just turned up again (DIY related issues!) so Freddie has gone into hiding. I don't know why he is so scared of other people but he also weirdly seems to know the difference between door knock of visitor (regardless of who the visitor is) and door knock of delivery person.

I think he hides in the utility room so he'll be cold and scared 😥 Luckily the DIY shouldn't take too long today so my poor boy will be able to come out soon.

TheShellBeach · 24/11/2024 20:28

Poor little Wien is still missing.
It's been a week now.

That's really sad, especially considering the recent weather. I realise I'm assuming the weather in Scotland is as bad as the rest of the UK. Fingers crossed she makes her way home.

Hope Fred's more settled now. My two are on very different despite being siblings. Boris seems to think all humans exist to fuss him and after many years of Teams meetings still seems to think that if he wonders in front of my laptop enough the screen people will one day be able to reach out and fuss him. Matilda is generally wary of any humans and has some kind of ferocious beast marker on her file at the vets, whereas Boris charms vets by pestering them for fuss.

RumNotRun · 24/11/2024 21:33

@HumanToCatBeasties Fred practically has a heart attack if I ever have to take him to the vet. His brother Frankenstein isn't particularly interested in other people but he will at least stay in the same room as them.

On the other hand, Vixen insists on any visitors giving her their undivided attention for as long as she requires it. I had a policeman come round once to take a statement from me and she kept sitting on his laptop and pushing her head under his hands.

The Stray is liking me again. We now have a working boiler after a week of no heat. She didn't even freak out when the man was drilling the wall or going into rooms for the rads. I was so proud of her, she's come a long way in such a short time.

I'm so sorry Grumpy but I actually snorted when I saw your photos. Seems Santa has dropped your gift off early Easter Grin

HumanToCatBeasties · 24/11/2024 22:05

@RumNotRun I took two police officers to the study/cats bedroom upstairs to point out the scene of the crime when I reported complaint about my neighbour. Matilda gave them a very frosty view of her backside. Boris was uncharacteristically absent, I think maybe the clumpy boots scared him off. They're siblings who have been with me since they were kittens, I have no idea why they have such different reactions to people. They are both ridiculously affectionate with me. Cats are awesome, but weird.

RumNotRun · 24/11/2024 22:41

I think Frederick and Frankenstein are the only litter mates I have. All the rest were adopted as solo cats. Well except Lexter who came with his mum but she sadly had a seizure and died.

I think part of it may be that the others grew up with my friend/ex coming round most days whereas shortly after F&F were adopted he got a girlfriend and wasn't allowed to hang out anymore. They've never got used to other people so are as antisocial as I am 😁
