I spent ages last night trying to think of this thread title.

🤣🤣🤣

Glad that Finlay and Matt seem to be going in the right direction 👍

Kettle is enjoying a cosy Sunday.

I do love Kettle.
I'm so glad that wound cleared up.

Allergic, fingers crossed for Mr. Tobias.

Cat Four’s brother fell asleep while playing with the feather toy.

So cute. I think you should just give in and start referring to them as cat 5 and cat 6. 😂

RumNotRun · 17/11/2024 14:20

I miss having kittens. They're so adorable and ridiculous.

Toad and Frank are fast asleep and snoring.

To be fair Toad and Frank look both adorable and ridiculous in that photo. I know what you mean about the kittens though, they're just so excited by everything.

That paw looks like it has fingers to me!

Out Christmas shopping this afternoon. The human side is pretty much done but Kitty needed presents for 2 dog cousins, 1 cat cousin & her wonderful cat sitter. I could have sent her out with my bank card but I don’t think she’d have got very far.

Linney was pleased to discover that we've finally put the heating on.

Kitty was still in bed when I got in just now. Laxy bugger.

Breadcat24 · 17/11/2024 17:14

@EmpressaurusDeiGatti a company called Cupid and Comet do advent calendars and presents for cats and dogs!
Cannot wait to see BIL's face when I give him two advent calendars next week- one for his granddaughter and one for his dog!
Do you think I should get him one?

EmpressaurusDeiGatti · 17/11/2024 17:33

Do it!!! I’ve got advent calendars for my sister’s dog before.

Although if you really want to mess with his head, tag it ‘To BILdog from Breadcat’.

Fingers and paws crossed for Tobias.
Socks sends her best wishes (she has only just started to sleep on my lap, I’m in a white dressing gown).

As much as I adore the kitten boys, I couldn’t manage introducing Cat Two to Four and Cat One to them. Way too much hissing going on.
Cat Two likes Four much better now after squeezy treats and introductions three times a day.
A possible adopter may be coming on the weekend to meet the boys, and after that my friend will take them back. They are not scared of people now and purr when they are scritched.

learieonthewildmoor · 17/11/2024 20:00

They don’t sit in laps for very long, but are happy to hang out with you.
Cat Four loves reading mumsnet with me. I am going to have to get a cat app for her.

Have you ever tried cat TV? There are several channels on YouTube she might like.

Finlay came home tonight but is very unhappy on all the drugs - it’s like having an aggressive drunk in my lounge!
He’s absolutely legless then runs into something or falls off and then starts clawing and biting - he’s normally so placid
Rang vet who said to place him in a darkened room and let him sleep it off!
Going to try him on a 1/2 dose tomorrow first thing and then pop home at lunchtime to give him other 1/2

Papergirl1968 · 17/11/2024 21:53

I’m glad Finlay is home.
I’m struggling with getting all of Matt’s meds into him. I carefully wrapped his tablets in ham and hand fed him them but he scoffed the ham and the tablets were found on the floor…and if they’re hidden in his food half the time he won’t eat it!

Allergictoironing · 17/11/2024 22:00

I may be tempting fate by posting this, but Tobias has just done a poo and it looks a bit firmer than his recent offerings, plus he farted much less than usual. It also stinks much more like normal get wrenching cat poo, not as sort of sweet as before - sweet in this context doesn't mean pleasant, just different!

JaceLancs · 18/11/2024 00:07

Finally!
only trouble now is I need to go to sleep myself

Oh to be able to sleep like a cat! Finlay looks very comfortable and relaxed, hopefully he'll be back to normal tomorrow.

I am in bed with Raven and Lexter next to me. They're both sound asleep while I am doing my usual Sunday night sleeplessness cause my brain won't stop thinking about all the work stuff I have to do tomorrow.

Oh bless him! I take it charcoal tablets don't work for him?
(Edited as I posted a message about Finlay in the wrong place, I am a bit tired!)

The little lamb! Don't know any cat that does 'relaxed' like Finlay! Hope he wakes up tomorrow all happy and back to his usual self, and has a nice big wee in his tray (or outside)😻

Tablets? TABLETS? How the feck would I be able to get tablets in him when he has to be drugged just to be picked up! And getting the Gabapentin in him involves crushing it to powder then about 4 grains of powder on a bit of chicken. And making sure there's no kibble down, so he'll definitely go for the slightly odd tasting chicken.

Sadly looks like I was right about tempting fate - he's just done a small almost liquid one accompanied by massive farts, with that nasty sweetish smell again. Serves me right I suppose posting about it...

Have you tried smearing a little bit of Primula cheesespead inside the ham? It helps by sticking the tablet inside so it doesn't drop out so easily.

I consider myself suitably chastised! Sorry about the return of stinky poos though...

Toddlerteaplease · 18/11/2024 09:52

@Allergictoironing can you get liquid gabapentin. That's what Penelope had. Though she's probably a bit more compliant than your cats!
