I spent ages last night trying to think of this thread title.

Meanwhile Cat Four is hoisting Cat Three in his own petard: joining him on the blanket at the end of the bed, then annoying him so much he gets off; leaving Four in sole possession.

OMG that's funny!

Lexter is very good at glaring.

It reminds me of the time I came home to find Linney locked out............... he was Not Amused.

Lex kind of pulls his shoulders up and puffs his chest out when he's cross. He just hissed at Frankie so now I have Frankie one side, Toad on my lap, and Lexter on my other side. Poor Frankenstein just wants to snuggle in the warm.

Learie, are you keeping all of them? Cat Four looks very at home with you and is adorable.

I’m looking after the siblings while their mother is getting vaxxed and spayed. She is semi-feral/semi-owned and was handled for the very first time today, and it was very exciting for all concerned. Some skin and a pot plant were lost.
None of the kittens have been handled much because it upsets the mum and they really need socialising.
Cat Four has gone from hissing every time he was picked up to sleeping purring on my chest in a week. I’m hoping I can do the same for the others.

That’s an amazing achievement, @learieonthewildmoor.

Cat Four’s siblings are starting to explore the cat room. Cat Three came to the cat gate and started making chirruping mother cat noises. They were electrified.
I can’t put Four in with them because he gets really rough and regresses to hissing at me when he’s in there.
They are very beautiful.

For a heart stopping moment I thought you meant the gate was electrified!
That many cute kittens in one place is a cuteness overload 😍 😍

RumNotRun · 13/11/2024 11:56

I'm suspicious. They LOOK all innocent and sleepy but I am sure they are plotting shenanigans.

@Papergirl1968 how is Matt today? Any news?

Cat four is utterly adorable (and energetic) and I look forward to seeing more photos of them all 😍

I don’t think Rum's kitties are plotting anything today because I suspect the heating kicked in at 4am and they are melted.

Esgaroth · 13/11/2024 15:32

We've had the all clear! Subject to observation. I think I will make him wear the cone/bandage a few more days at night and when I'm out, but it's been fine today.

Kettle is loving it, he's been so much more active/playful/curious and just obviously thrilled to be rid of it.

He has given the whole leg a good old clean (obviously we weren't doing a satisfactory job) but not licking the scar more than other parts and not excessively I believe. The scar does not look irritated at all. I will be keeping a close eye on the situation of course!

That's good news Esgaroth.
Love Kettle's beard 🐱

JoanOgden · 13/11/2024 15:42

Oh that's lovely news, Esgaroth! What a fine feline he is.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 13/11/2024 15:48

Kettle really is a rather handsome chap, and yes, he has a great beard.

Hope Matt is peeing today @Papergirl1968.

RumNotRun · 13/11/2024 16:30

Congrats Kettle!

No heating here @Pixiedust1234 but the sun was out today and I think Toad at least was too busy basking in it to supervise Frank and Lexter. They're being weirdly well behaved at the moment.

TheShellBeach · 13/11/2024 17:00

Yay! Good news for Kettle at last.

EmpressaurusDeiGatti · 13/11/2024 17:20

Well done @Esgaroth and Kettle!

CatsonPollock · 13/11/2024 18:52

Yay for Kettle! Now life really begins 🧡

Pudmyboy · 13/11/2024 20:17

Another yay for Kettle! He is a handsome and confident boy, @Esgaroth your care is obviously exemplary as he looks well content and not plotting revenge!

TheShellBeach · 13/11/2024 20:21

You've been so patient with that wound @Esgaroth
I bet you thought Kettle would be in a Cone of Shame for the rest of his life.

Papergirl1968 · 13/11/2024 20:43

Well done, Kettle.
Matt has spent the day at the vets again. He was sitting on the litter tray and not able to do anything so we were there without an appointment just as they opened.
They tried an injection of diazepam to relax him but that didn’t work so he had to have a catheter put in which will stay in till Friday or Saturday. Like last time this happened, about a year ago, he is dripping urine but I’ve put down puppy pads and towels on the bed and will have to give floors a good clean after but I couldn’t bear to shut him in the bathroom.
If this doesn’t work the only option is major surgery which would basically turned him from a boy into a girl as the vet put it, with no guarantee of success, and I wouldn’t put him through that at his age (11 in April). Two different vets have now gently suggested that if this doesn’t work it will be time to call it a day.
He had the cone of shame off by the time we got home but luckily is too fat to reach the catheter. He was also absolutely starving as always.
Thank you all for your concern and good wishes and I’ll keep you posted.

EmpressaurusDeiGatti · 13/11/2024 20:53

Hugs, @Papergirl1968.

RumNotRun · 13/11/2024 20:54

Oh Paper, that's terrible. All of us here have our fingers, toes, and paws crossed that Matt wees soon. Poor boy.

CatsonPollock · 13/11/2024 21:04

Sending Matt much love ❤️

Esgaroth · 13/11/2024 21:06

Poor Matt, I hope he'll be OK ❤️

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 13/11/2024 22:19

Keeping fingers crossed for Matt. Really hope that putting the catheter in will sort him out for the moment.
