I spent ages last night trying to think of this thread title.

🤣🤣🤣

I stopped off at my vets on the way home from work today with a gift - 3 sample tubes containing squidgy cat poo from Tobias. Apparently it takes days for them to grow any cultures from these, so won't have any results until the middle of next week.

Also, got an email from PetPlan on Friday saying they will be asking my vet for more info regarding my claim - "For the claim submitted for TOBIAS for gastro-enteritis, please can you forward us a full clinical history from the day this client’s pet was first registered at your surgery." Well I can tell them that he registered in the spring, went and had his scheduled jabs last October, and hasn't been back since for anything. We just spent a couple of months trying him with dietary solutions & probiotics before bringing out the big guns of poo samples.

Allergic and Paper I hope both your boys get better very soon (and cheaply!).

Gizmo is a picture of innocence, he clearly has not been eating children. Yet.

Papergirl1968 · 11/11/2024 22:03

Thanks, all.
I just googled and Matt’s 9.5kg is almost 21lbs, so a stone and a half. I think he was 9.8 at his heaviest then went down to 8.9.
No wonder I can barely lift him…
He was a stocky kitten when we had him
from the RSPCA at 12 weeks and has a totally different body shape to Socks, with a bull-ish head, big eyes and a thick tail, whereas she is naturally slim, has a little pointed face and a thin tail.
Like humans I suppose, they’re all different.
He takes after his mum (me).

Finlay is at the pub tonight - he has a much better social life than me - good job I got cuddles last night or I might feel that I had a catlodger

@Papergirl1968
He’s a big boy - Finlay is 4.2kg at last check up

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 11/11/2024 22:38

@Papergirl1968 Best wishes to Matt. Basil was bloody expensive with similar issues so hope you have a more reasonable bet. 😲.
He's a seriously big cat, Basil seems heavy to us and he's just shy of 6kg. Amazed that Matt is one and a half Basils. 🤣
Best wishes to Tobias also, & hats off to Finlay spending his evenings in the pub 🍺

EmpressaurusDeiGatti · 12/11/2024 06:24

Kitty’s 4.5kg, big girl!

Good luck, @Allergictoironing & @Papergirl1968.

Breadcat24 · 12/11/2024 09:36

@Papergirl1968 hope matt is ok

Breadcat24 · 12/11/2024 09:38

@TheShellBeach might bring a new aspect to the "my owner won't let me eat birds anymore" if Gizmo brings you bits of small children back

LostCats · 12/11/2024 11:15

I would imagine Gizmo is more likely to be inciting riot among the children than eating them. Seems more his raison d’être 🤣

RumNotRun · 12/11/2024 11:57

Frankie has been sleeping in the freezing cold utility room since the summer, only leaving it to eat. Today he has finally come into the lounge and is actually sitting next to me purring. I haven't even bribed him with Dreamies!

Or begging for the remains of their lunch boxes.

Or (in the case of the teachers) sneaking a sly fag behind the playground.

@TheShellBeach I reckon he can definitely do the "puss in boots" eyes to get the children to share their food. I bet he even lets them stroke him without risking their skin.

RumNotRun · 12/11/2024 12:17

Wow,.......my postie delivered junk mail 🤔

Linney and Gizmo "where's my treat?"

LostCats · 12/11/2024 12:55

🤣 Shell. I’m starting to think you enjoy living dangerously!

Well.

I've got a loose crown in a bottom tooth which the dentist refuses to re-cement in place, because she says there's insufficient tooth left to stick it to.

So I do it myself, with that stuff you can buy online. It lasts about four days before falling off again.

Eating bubble gum is not recommended in these circumstances.

🤣🤣

But I do it anyway.

I just came across Picard in the car park. He's obviously heard that Cleo's in town, and is having a quick wash before going round to see if she's in.

Cat Four’s siblings are starting to explore the cat room. Cat Three came to the cat gate and started making chirruping mother cat noises. They were electrified.
I can’t put Four in with them because he gets really rough and regresses to hissing at me when he’s in there.
They are very beautiful.

Meanwhile Cat Four is hoisting Cat Three in his own petard: joining him on the blanket at the end of the bed, then annoying him so much he gets off; leaving Four in sole possession.

@learieonthewildmoor they are very cute!

Lexter is not happy that Frankenstein is on "his" sofa, despite there being plenty of room for both of them. He is giving me huffed up evil looks.

Four is practicing being a cat with great success. DH keeps mentioning we have six cats in the house but I’m really not seeing the problem. I have just seen a photo of Four sitting on my head while I sleep. I wonder who took that.
