I spent ages last night trying to think of this thread title.

I'm afraid I'm putting in another vote for an extra couple of days just to be on the safe side. Sorry.

RumNotRun · 11/11/2024 18:00

I concur with the majority. Sorry Kettle, but it's for your own good.

The tribe are being naughty. Poor Fred was sitting at the top of the stairs, minding his own business. Raven walked up to him and smacked his bum. Somebody (probably Toad) has thrown up in the lounge. Thank goodness for wooden floors! And SOMEBODY has stolen my seat.

So following the discussion about Basil and Sybil's breed on the OLD thread I thought I'd do an experiment.
@TheShellBeach You should be very proud that catscanner has identifed that you own a purebred Turkish Angora (97.6% match).
Did you know? 🤣

There's an online dating thread for cats?? 😮

I had to look up Angora and I think Linney is posing for every single website listing the breed 😄

Catscanner can’t decide about Kitty. From pics it thought she was 48.5% tortoiseshell with some tabby & European shorthair.

Then when I started following her around with the camera on it wavered between 46.8% European shorthair with some Abyssinian, Calico & Bengal and 41.2% tortoiseshell with some Bengal, European shorthair & Cornish Rex.

We might stick with tortoiseshell tabby or we might swop every month or so.

If your cat did OLD, what profile picture would she/he use? | Mumsnet

Very lighthearted of course, our Caesar would definitely use this one

Well, that's interesting.

I'm a bit puzzled because the late Emerald came from the same mother as Linney, but he was born in a litter a year later.

And Emerald didn't look anything like Linney.

She bossed him about though.

Right. I've just asked Linney if he's a purebred Turkish Angora cat, and he didn't answer.

He looks to me like a cat with a secret.

TheShellBeach · 11/11/2024 20:11

And the bugger's still got black splodges all over his fur, from the neighbour's shed.

Yes.
Maybe he's a spy.

A member of the CIA?

Obviously the splodges are an attempt at a disguise.

TheShellBeach · 11/11/2024 20:16

Ooh, I knew I'd got something to tell y'all.

Gizmo has been spotted up at the school in the village, messing around in the playground.

He also pops behind the wall where the teachers go for a fag, but I'm not sure what he does there. Taking names, to report them to the Governors, probably.

Our warden followed him up there on Friday, out of curiosity.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

JoanOgden · 11/11/2024 20:23

Dear me, I hope that Gizmo isn't corrupting innocent youth Shock

EmpressaurusDeiGatti · 11/11/2024 20:30

He’ll be working with Secret Agent Linney.

I know everyone thought it was the humans’ idea for Gizmo to move, but I bet the cats had it all planned….

RumNotRun · 11/11/2024 20:35

I bet he's joining the teachers for a sneaky fag and giving them all the gossip about the kids as well as the Shell family. I'm getting full on Les Dawson Cissie and Ada vibes.

TheShellBeach · 11/11/2024 20:36

Linney, on being asked if he's in the CIA

Matt has has to go back to the vet today with another urinary blockage.
I spotted him trying to wee but not producing anything yesterday and again this morning so called the vets first thing and took him in at lunchtime for an anaesthetic and catheter. Picked him up at 6pm and he is ravenous but also still half out of it and looks like he’s going to sleep sitting up.
He had also put weight back on - he is 9.5kg so I have to try to get him to cut down. He’s already on urinary food - now he has to go on to urinary diet food.
The vet was basically saying he’s ten and a half, he’s had these numerous times, how long do you want to keep going down this route especially as I’d already said I was broke.
But his blood tests were all good and the head vet nurse was more positive, saying it was the first one he’s had for a year.
I think the dog was stressing him out more than I’d realised but then we lost her in the new year. Perhaps the fireworks stressed him although it’s hard to tell because he never shows any signs of being nervous or stressed whereas Socks jumps at every noise or sudden movement.
She’s a grazer, he’s a scoffer so need to redouble my efforts to keep him
out of her food.
He has a fetching shaved stripe on his back where they obviously decided to remove two clumps of matted fur that I’d been meaning to cut out.

TheShellBeach · 11/11/2024 21:08

Oh Papergirl, I'm sorry to hear this about Matt.

I hope he starts to improve soon.

But the vet nurse sounded more positive - and it has been a while since Matt last had a UTI.
