Passports, buckets and spades - the Excellent Cats go on their holidays

The last thread filled up very quickly, mainly thanks to Gizmo's adventures. He is now a fully-fledged Excellent Cat.

And it's allegedly summertime so Ho for the Hols!

Elton sulking

That is worthy of entry in the 'expressions of noble disappointment' thread!

Honest I did type Flouncer, damn autocorrect! (Though given her lack of success in garnering support for her POV maybe flounder is more appropriate!)

Edited

I think there should be a Flounder's Corner.

Let's start a thread in Site Stuff.

Any flatfish wishing to post will be welcome.

MN needs to include fish IMO.

RumNotRun · 20/09/2024 14:37

That's not very inclusive. What about round fish / not-flat fish? Or dolphins? What if they identify as fish, can they then post in Flounder's Corner?

AnneKipankitoo · 20/09/2024 14:46

It did that to me too, autocorrected to Flounder.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 20/09/2024 15:01

Flounder threads belong here.🐟

Will transfish be welcome?

The flouncer might have thought that was about tights or stockings and been disappointed.

Yes, it's not been named with much care, has it?
It ought to be a subset in the Sex Topic.

Lexter declares that we're all being silly and he's tired of it. (He has no sense of humour)

And yes, that is his tongue poking out at us all. Well, at me.

Welcome welcome new cats and their slaves. This is a friendly, inclusive place where we support each other with all sorts and share pics and stories, bound by our love of our furry overloads, and I count these gals and guys among my friends. I’m
forward to reading the flouncy thread (eye roll).
@Supersimkin7 are you and Prince ok? You’ve been quiet on here since Havelock’s passing.

My excuse is because when I was first introduced to Mumsnet (by a work colleague) I used to navigate to the littertray though the chat menu under 'pets'.

Yeah, right.

Bet you searched for fishnet stockings.

Thank goodness that poster didn’t see the royal jewels threads in S&B. I have no idea who any of the European royals are, and everyone there is on first name terms with them. Much xclusion!!!
Here is Cat Three trying out one of the new uncomfortable sleeping positions everyone is talking about.

I know the names of all the royalty in this house.

Sorry - deity 🙄

spoonfulofmustard · 21/09/2024 11:59

I am officially in the cat house, had to do some claw clipping this morning as they were starting to grow into her pads, you'd think I was commiting murder with the noise. Ava is now hiding under the bed, what we go through to try and to make their lives better 🙄

Pudmyboy · 20/09/2024 13:51

That facial expression!
Just: utter bliss and pure trust😻😻😻

She is the only one allowed to pick him up like that. She’s been doing so since he was a kitten. He hated it to start with but he bowed to the inevitable and seems to enjoy it these days.

In ‘uncomfortable sleeping conditions’, he had taken to napping on the Lego in the windowsill. This resulted in many damaged Lego models. To prevent this, I put a big feather pillow in the windowsill nearby.

It was only after I did this that I realised I’d been played.

Smart cat.

First try of pill putty hasn't gone well with Tobias. Took a small piece (obviously without any pill in it) & offered it to him, and the LOOK he gave me after sniffing it - disgust doesn't come close. Don't know whether to try a different brand to see if he likes that, or just assume he won't & cross fingers praying he will eat the pills crushed up into Lik E Lix (assuming Girlcat doesn't steal his when I try!).

Pixiedust1234 · 21/09/2024 13:51

My rescue refused point blank to eat that putty, however having it hidden inside a bit of ham and cheesespread (to make it stick to the ham) was deemed acceptable, especially if you gave a couple of pieces without pill first, and then some plain ham after.

Due to her itsy bitsy mouth the pill had to be quartered so probably had at least half a slice. Funny how a whole mouse could fit inside though 🙄

Allergictoironing · 21/09/2024 14:06

One plus point though - Girlcat came down, saw the bit of putty where he had left it, and scoffed it with great pleasure. So at least I know it will work for her, if she needs tablets 😁

TheShellBeach · 21/09/2024 14:35

Funny how a whole mouse could fit inside though

Our cat McVicar once ate a whole mouse in one go. No chewing, no dismembering, just swallowed it whole. Head first.

Eventually just the mouse's tail protruded from McVicar's mouth, then it, too, was swallowed.

Did he suck it up like spaghetti @TheShellBeach ?

I'm being spoiled today, I have 5 cats on the sofa and windowsill behind me. Only 3 in the photo as Toad and Raven were on the other side. Frankenstein is still in the shark on the fruit machine and Vixen is definitely not on the worktop in the kitchen because I would never allow such a thing and all my cats listen to me. Honest.
