Please meet Mr Ramsey, a fluffy black 5 year old from the RSPCA. We have had him for 4 years. And Miss Nola Bear, a 1 year old tabby who we have had since a kitten 🐱

I went to bed for a nap earlier so Frankenstein joined me for a cuddle. Usually he does about 2 minutes of lying like a loaf under the cover, then relocates to my pillow. Today he did something he has never done and curled up in a ball, resting his head on the pillow and fell properly snoringly asleep. He looked so adorable but my arm went dead and eventually I had to move it so he stormed off.

Hopefully this is a new era in Frankie cuddles. I'll just make sure my arm is in a more comfortable position!

Ahh I love seeing other fluffy black cats that look like Ramsey! So beautiful.

@TheShellBeach a fluffy white cat is my dream! In fact the plan was to get a fluffy white one last year but then we saw Nola and fell in love with her. But I hope to have a white floof in future

Well... Thrifty's not fluffy so they probably wouldn't give her a Cabinet position, which is just as well, because she's just put her paw up for banning all roaming gingers. Izzy is fluffy on the back end only so they might let her be a junior Minister at least, and she'll be pushing a proposal of hot-and-cold running rodents in all houses, hmm, can't see that being much of a vote winner either. She's got a progressive school agenda though, exercise programmes including jingly balls and cardboard rolls to keep youngsters fit, and free poached fish for all.

My Nola’s best friend is a ginger from next door so she would be very sad with the ban of roaming gingers. However, the exercise programme she could get on board with as long as it involves SPRINGS

Is it a myth or are white cats deaf??

Some are. My white cat (not fluffy but very loving) isn't deaf apart from in the traditional cat way of being deaf when you tell them not to do something.

Annie, my dearly departed soul cat Alizè HATED ginger cats. He wasn't particularly enamoured of other cats in general but he would ignore them. If he saw a ginger cat in the garden though, he would sprint outside and chase them off.

Linney can hear a Dreamies packet being opened from two rooms away.

Thrifty doesn't go outside yet, but the local ginger taps on the window and infuriates her. She hurls herself at the glass and roars. Her slim tail turns into a bottle brush and she marches up and down growling even after he (or she?) is out of sight. Then I tell her how brave she is and stroke her until she turns back into her normal placid, easy-going self.

I've heard it said that white cats have a higher chance of being deaf than other colours, but lots of them aren't. So I just googled it and apparently if they also have blue eyes it's much more likely (up to 40% chance) to go with deafness than other coloured eyes. Genetics is an intriguing science.

I remember reading somewhere that white cats can also have mis-matched eyes. Like David Bowie!

And I understand that when they have a blue and a green eye they are likely to be deaf, but only on the blue-eyed side.
