My beloved black cat used to do that!!
When he was more agile ❤️

CatsonPollock · 15/05/2024 07:59

Snap! (Also when Madam was a tad slimmer)

Many years ago I had a cat that used to do this and would ocassionally even sleep on the top of the kitchen door.

None of the current lot do though.

RumNotRun · 15/05/2024 13:26

My first cat that I had as an adult (me being the adult) used to lie on the edge of the lounge window frame when it was open. He wouldn't go out of the window, just lie on the edge with his tail and sometimes a paw hanging out. The window only opens at the top so he would have to jump fairly high with good precision.

I have now fitted screens to the window as the current tribe don't have the skills and agility to jump onto the window frame without doing themselves a mischief.

A photo of the window as I am rubbish at describing things!

Hoovered this afternoon. Basil and Lenny therefore decided to have a fight.
Bastards. 😾

🤣

Robovac, Grumpy.

Step 2: train Sybil
to ride it to the shop for wine.

Breadcat24 · 16/05/2024 11:30

I would pay money for a video of Sybil on a Robovac! Possibly followed by TC...

Miss Raven has been up to something.

A rare picture of Vixen with her tongue actually in her mouth! Just to prove that it can be done.

Thrifty aka Miss Fatty had an appointment at the vet's this morning. The only problem getting her in the carrier was that she barely fits in it at the moment Blush. Vet, who was Allergic's favourite lady vet, said it appears she's pretty healthy and the problems I was concerned about are very likely simply due to weight gain - she's a shade over 6kg, which is hefty for a medium sized moggy. She was weighed, prodded and squeezed to check for any sinister causes of round stomach, given extra worm treatment in case of lungworm, and had her claws trimmed. She wasn't all that keen but held still like an angel, barring a brief slither off the scales and under a chair, from whence she was easily retrieved. At the end she was popped back into the base of the carrier and just sat while we reassembled it round her, then went home without a murmur.

DS was waiting anxiously at home and welcomed her with treats (but not too many because fattening her up would be completely missing the point). Thrifty let us stroke her, had a sniff at the carrier as if to say "oh yeah, that's where I was" and lay down near my chair as if she'd never been away. Well at least ONE of them isn't a little psycho murder-cat...

I re-read my post this morning, and had doubts, so looked it up. Turns out "whence" doesn't need a "from" (I kind of knew that). A pedant's life is hard.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 18/05/2024 06:11

I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help?
I think some of the confusion is that people don't realise this is a question.
Nice pedantry by the way. 😁

Allergictoironing · 18/05/2024 08:17

Definition of irony; very painful cut on the ball of the thumb caused by the foil on the packet of painkillers.

Tobias came into my bedroom this morning for a rootle around while I was sitting on the bed, gathering the impetus to get dressed. He also went to follow me into the loo last night, though he did stop at the door while I held it open for him. On the other hand, he seems to have gone off letting me have a quick stroke in passing or when I'm giving him treats. One step forwards and one back.

Looks like my original estimate of a year to get friendly was wildly optimistic, now been extended to 3 years (been home 15 months now).

Supersimkin2 · 18/05/2024 11:24

Meh, he jus’ tinkin about it Allergic. Playing hard to get, he’s a cat. He loves you, that’s for sure.

Havelock next door is so fat from thievery even the ‘heavy fur’ diagnosis doesn’t cut it any more. Might get vet for home visit.

Last night he and Prince chased each other in the gloaming, altho I think
Prince enjoyed it a bit more than hassled, stately, outraged Havers.

I have made a very frivolous pet related purchase today. Doing a show and saw this display window for sale on another stall. A product of a more innocent age and gorgeous artwork. A pity that the sign writer didn't know how to use an apostrophe though 🤣.

Put's pussy into fine form?

WTF?

It isn't only the incorrectly placed apostrophe which makes that sentence memorable.
🤣

That was their CATchphase for years. On all their cat food advertising. I did say it was from a more innocent age 🤣. Nothing wrong with a bit of smutty innuendo

This is NMH that my sister nicknamed Tina Turner. She also has a music note on her forehead which fitted perfectly with the Tina hair.
