In other news, the Ladyship has been diagnosed with allergies and put on meds - first dose this morning and she has stopped scratching and grooming to excess, is suddenly eating much better and is altogether a happier cat.

Basil is also taking advantage of the sun today.

Frankfurter is being a cutie this evening. He was sitting near the top of the stairs so I put my arm through the bars near him to give him some chicken. He gently took it from me then bunny hopped down the stairs, holding it in his mouth, till he reached the bottom and then ate it. Not like the other demons who would snatch the chicken off me and inhale it.

He's just so delicate and adorable 😍

Or like Annie's dear departed Bubbles, who would ignore the chicken completely (she didn't "do" human food, only prepared cat food) and instead see how deep she could get her claws in when she zapped your hand. 95% of the time she was the dearest, sweetest cat, but approach her through the bannisters..... 😱🙀

I did warn you! But she did that cute little innocent look, with the big eyes and the little tufty ears, maybe an encouraging gesture with her tiny paw, and you went "aaah" and forgot for just long enough to be reminded the hard way. We called it "playing tigers".

Back to the present day, stick and blanket is still Izzy's favourite game; she can play it for hours. There have been no more mournful incidents since we switched to using the extra long stick (fingers crossed). I told DS yesterday it was his fault because he invents the best games. He handed the stick to me with the firm words "your turn".

A couple of nights ago I waa tidying up in the lounge and just happened to look up and see this...staring blankly at me. Sat upright like a human, not a thought in his fluffy orange head.

Oh ha! I would so love to be able to tune into cat "thoughts". 😸

Much to Fred's disgust I have finally accepted I do not need to keep their wooden house as I don't think my ex's plans for a deluxe catio are going to materialise, so I have put the house outside for anyone to take. Despite having resolutely ignored it for the last 18 months +, Fred is acting like I've just thrown out his one true love. He keeps looking at me balefully from the stairs.

This is what the house looked like originally. A massive waste of money! I think I liked it more than they did.

With summer coming up, Izzy feels it's time to get some fishing practice in.

I tried to take Toad and Fred out into the garden with their harnesses. Toad was quite chilled about the whole thing, but Fred did not like having the harness on. Also, despite him trying to come out the front with me most days, he was terrified of the back garden. There was air and noises and plants. It was all too much for the big wimp so he ran back inside 🙄

Aww, poor Fred being a scaredy cat.
I came downstairs this morning to find one of the cats had helpfully thrown up over the sofa and two cushions. All of the downstairs has a laminate floor but no, it had to be over the sofa. MY sofa, the one I always sit on. Luckily leather so quickly wiped up but the cushions will need to go in the wash.
