Keep your paws crossed that Penelope (also to be known as Pickle) will be right for Cheddar and arrive soon.
I'm a bit confused by her story, but she's an ex show cat. So hopefully will be healthy.
She's not yet in the rescue so we do t k ow her personality. But from what I've seen as show cats. They are pretty docile.

The rescue told me about her when O told them of Magic's death. And when I got to work that night. We had a patient called Penelope. So I take it as a sign!

I'm trying to speed it up a bit but the rescue is busy.

This is because Shady did a huge wee and I asked him to send vibes to Penelope!

Never have I been so invested in the toilet habits of a cat I don't know! Glad its working out so far. And the picture of a sleeping Cheddar is adorable.

I think her official name is going to be Penelope Pickle. Keeps every one happy 🤣

I wonder what is going through her mind - what her impressions are of you and Cheddar.

Hopefully the wee and explorations are good signs that Penelope Pickle is settling in.

The problem is hat every time Cheddar goes into the room, she eats the food! I reward her with dreemies after each interaction though. Had proper strokes and lots of purrs from Pickle.

Cheddar has issues with Royal canin. Which is why I do t want her eating it. However it's the mum and baby cat food.. and the kibbles are so tiny, I don't think she can eat many.

That's all sounding really positive.

She's just stood on my knee! Had another interaction with cheddar. both hissed and cheddar growled. And then she retreated.

She's also had a poo. Not convinced that she's eating though. She hides all day, but wants to explore at 1am. 🙄 she's ventured down 3 stairs!

Cheddar has been pretty good with her, but I am surprised by the growling. Do you think it will improve when pickle is spayed? Cheddar and Magic got on well from day one. So no gradual introduction was needed.

It sounds like they are establishing a hierarchy, it will be OK once they have decided who is top cat.

Which is obviously going to be Cheddar! It's her turn. She was bullied on her previous home and Magic was boss when she was alive. So how it's her turn.

I reckon Cheddar wants to be reassured that you will still have time for her :)

Remember I had growls & hisses when I introduced Tobias to Girlcat, now they are very happy together. OK the play fighting can be quite - energetic, but they do nose touching & ear licking as well with not a growl or hiss in sight. They happily share food bowls & litter trays etc., just took a little time while Girlcat made it absolutely clear that she was the boss.

Yes. She's getting extra cuddles and treats.

I'm amazed that she's showing any annoyance at all. When she met magic, they just rubbed along with no issues. Cheddar has never ever growled or hissed at anything. Didn't think she had it in her!

I'd take it as a sign of how well settled she is that she's grown in confidence.
