Keep your paws crossed that Penelope (also to be known as Pickle) will be right for Cheddar and arrive soon.
I'm a bit confused by her story, but she's an ex show cat. So hopefully will be healthy.
She's not yet in the rescue so we do t k ow her personality. But from what I've seen as show cats. They are pretty docile.

The rescue told me about her when O told them of Magic's death. And when I got to work that night. We had a patient called Penelope. So I take it as a sign!

I'm trying to speed it up a bit but the rescue is busy.

Sounds very normal!

Toddlerteaplease · 19/09/2023 10:34

She's not had a wee or poo yet. Although the vet said her bladder was full yesterday. She's very nervous and hiding this morning.

Super star with her ear drops though.

My last new cat took about three days to use his tray. They won't do it till they feel settled.

Clarich007 · 19/09/2023 10:57

My cat was the same.We picked him up on a Thursday morning, and he didn't have a wee until Friday night.Boy that was a long wee, and unfortunately on the kitchen floor.Luckily it's tiled so not a problem.
The first and only time he has made a mess in the house He's such a clean boy .

I think there is a total love bug in there. So I have all the time in the world to wait for her. I didn't see Maos for a week. Cheddar is definitely not phased by a cat in the spare room.

In my experience cats that start out shy become super-loving once you have won their trust. You're right to let Pickle take things at her own pace.

Toddlerteaplease · 19/09/2023 11:26

Yes. Maia hid for a week. But I knew she was coming out at night. Penelope was out last night. Fortunately I was pre warned that she would do this. And that she would completely dominate Magic when she did appear. And that's exactly what happened. Penelope- Pickle has the rest of her life to find her feet!

She's had a very stressful 24 hours. Picked up by someone. Transferred to me in a car park. Home for half an hour and then to the vet

Congratulations, Toddler! What amazing eyes. Here’s to along and happy life with you. And for Cheddar to like her 🙂

Toddlerteaplease · 19/09/2023 17:56

She's still not weed which is worrying me. She had a full bladder at the vet yesterday. But nothing in the litter tray. Don't think it's anywhere else. She's very scared and hiding still. But was quite active overnight last night.

She will probably wee tonight 🤞🏼

Toddlerteaplease · 19/09/2023 18:35

I hope so. I'll go and get some cat San style stuff incase she doesn't recognise the sandy stuff for what it is.

Better one

Oh what a sweetie! She looks like a squishmallow 🥰

Toddlerteaplease · 19/09/2023 19:06

Poor little mite. She's absolutely petrified. Not helped by me having to put drops on her ears twice a day. I've got suffer t litter and taken the lid off the tray.

I know cats can concentrate their wee.
Hope she uses the litter tray soon.

Toddlerteaplease · 19/09/2023 19:23

It's getting dark and she's on the move!

Poor darling. She will soon learn you and Cheddar are to be trusted!

Toddlerteaplease · 19/09/2023 20:17

Doesn't help that I'm having to put ear drops in her twice a day.

My shy boy was leaping around at night - we could hear him - and hiding during the day.

Scampuss · 19/09/2023 20:37

The fact that you can put ear drops in is itself remarkable. I guess she's used to being handled and probably not always as kindly as by you.

Toddlerteaplease · 19/09/2023 20:39

STOP PRESS!! We have wee wee in the litter tray! Such a relief. She's up
And moving around and scratching the carpet!

FutureThroughLensOfThePast · 19/09/2023 20:41

Yay! I'm sure a poo will be following soon.

Toddlerteaplease · 19/09/2023 20:42

No so worried about the poo.
