Keep your paws crossed that Penelope (also to be known as Pickle) will be right for Cheddar and arrive soon.
I'm a bit confused by her story, but she's an ex show cat. So hopefully will be healthy.
She's not yet in the rescue so we do t k ow her personality. But from what I've seen as show cats. They are pretty docile.

The rescue told me about her when O told them of Magic's death. And when I got to work that night. We had a patient called Penelope. So I take it as a sign!

I'm trying to speed it up a bit but the rescue is busy.

I tell Cheddar that she's the best girl every day!

So the kitten collar is to small. She's delighted she doesn't have to wear one yet! Not sure how I will get it on her anyway. Cooperation isn't her strong point.

But she is a Princess! Princesses don’t have to do cooperation

Toddlerteaplease · 29/10/2023 13:21

I'm on nights again and they are both keeping me company. While I try to get back to sleep.

Awwww those little toesies so close 😍

How are Cheddar and Penelope getting on Toddler?

Toddlerteaplease · 07/11/2023 11:22

Both on thanks. Too Cheddar to the vet as I was worried about the colour of her wee. But it's ok, apart from being acidic. Had a text this morning, saying I owe them £83 for the urine test. Ouch. I wouldn't have minded if they'd told me the cost up front. But it was never mentioned, so I presumed it was included in the cost of the consultation. They want me to change her food. But her tummy is so sensitive, I don't want to.

Penelope definitely has small cat syndrome. She likes to sleep on my bed. But other than that I'd a bit aloof. Unless she thinks there is food in the offing! She seems to rub along quite well with Cheddar. Less spats.

Glad they're rubbing along.

Could Cheddar have a supplement instead of food change? Would she take it in lik-e-lix or would that upset her tummy?

Toddlerteaplease · 07/11/2023 17:15

She's having cystease mixed with a lik e lix. Which is a good distraction when Penelope has her wet food. (Cheddar hates wet food. And it doesn't agree with her. So I give her lik e lix at the time madam has her Sheba.

Fingers crossed it helps

😬😂

LostCats · 08/11/2023 13:15

That’s a proper ‘Busted!’ look 😆

Toddlerteaplease · 08/11/2023 15:31

She was actually sitting bolt upright. She tells me she is just surveying her garden. I don't believe her.

I'm wondering if there is anything I can put on the device to prevent her jumping on that roof. Next door. Do not always keep their gate shut. And I don't think she would have a route back from the other side. As there is nothing to climb on.

OP posts:
Scampuss · 08/11/2023 16:54

Did she jump straight up to it or use the chair?

Toddlerteaplease · 08/11/2023 17:14

I'm not sure suspect she used the chair, but I wouldn't put jumping the whole thing past her. I don't trust her an inch. 😂

Toddlerteaplease · 08/11/2023 17:14

Will move the chair!

Toddlerteaplease · 08/11/2023 20:54

Just re reading this thread from the beginning. I can't believe how far she's come along and it's still only been 6 weeks or so since she came home.

Ellmau · 08/11/2023 21:49

She definitely looks like a RealCat (TM).

Toddlerteaplease · 08/11/2023 22:17

Penelope has started being aggressive again. It had really settled down. And I've just clicked that it coincided with me putting the pet remedy diffuser on the landing. She spends most of her time upstairs. And apparently if they are sensitive to valerian it can over stimulate them. So I've switched it off. (I put it back on for fireworks. But it was downstairs before.)

More progress to report! In nights again, and she came and properly sat on top me. Instead of just under my arm. Hopefully I'll make her a lap cat yet. Keep forgetting it's been less than two months since she came home

Fab progress, but what did Cheddar think about it?!
